  • Mine still has a toddler in it.

Mine too! Due to the fact I am still terrified about putting mine in a big bed, I think she will still be in the nursery for some time yet... Baby will have to go in the spare room til further notice!

Mine is nowhere near done :/

    Same here!
  • Glad I'm not alone. Originally we were going to move my toddler into the second bedroom and leave the nursery as is for the baby. But we want with a full size bed which made more sense to keep in the bigger room. Her big girl bed is here but still in pieces because the hardware kit is missing. We didn't notice until we had already taken apart and moved the crib into the other bedroom. DD thankfully has no issues sleeping in her crib in a different room, but both rooms are a mess with bed parts everywhere and it is driving me crazy. That hardware kit better get here this week or I might come unglued!
  • Well, we finally got our carpet installed yesterday. And my mom and dad brought the dresser up from the basement since DH was working late. But this is it (aside from the cradle that is in our room). My parents are buying remaining nursery furniture so fingers crossed they start working on that now that the carpet is in. I can't hang our colored circles until we decide where crib is going.
  • Mine is a mess. I am taking the week after next week off and I hope to get it mostly set up then! :)

  • We still have to paint, and wait until the new carpet is installed which will be mid-july. It's driving me nuts knowing we may need to set up in a hurry if little one comes early.
  • While everyone seems to be painting and picking out cute wall decorations, I'm over here trying to figure out how to shove a crib into the corner of our small one bedroom apartment.. Ugh I feel a failure for not being able to move into a larger apartment/house yet.

Where's all the baby shower stuff going to go?? Freakouuuuttttt...
  • My sister has a 1br apt in NY, they added a wall in the bedroom to make a little private area for the crib.
  • If we take the house off the market then we'll probably paint but for now I'm just gonna put some decor on the walls. Still have a couple pieces of furniture to paint, but right now we can't afford some freaking paint. Boo!! It'll probably be the last minute when it gets done lol. Also, the room is a mere 8x10 but it's better than nothing. (We live in an older home with small bedrooms, we actually knocked a wall out to make a master room.)

The first pic I didn't have the light on but it won't let me delete it. The second two are with the light on obviously lol

I'm in the same situation! I really would love to put together a nursery, but we are going to be in a one bedroom apt until at least March of 2016. We've gotten a lot of gifts so far (which I'm very grateful for) and haven't had our shower yet- I have no clue where to store everything! The one saving grace for us is that DH and I own very little stuff. Clutter annoys both of us and I feel like we are constantly making runs to goodwill to donate things. We ended up buying another dresser from ikea and I'm hoping to take this week to organize everything in the bedroom and try to find other places in the apartment for storage. Let me know if you come across any good ideas! Good luck!

If it's any conciliation I live in a three bedroom house and my twins are in one bedroom, me and DH in another, and the third we are leaving as a guest room because my mom will be helping with the kids for a few weeks when LO comes. I had my LOs room in with us in our bedroom in their cribs until they were 8 months old. I don't know if I'll ever decorate the 3rd bedroom past just eventually putting her crib and dresser and things in there and moving the bed out.

  • We live in a 2 bedroom apt and are slowly turning the guest bedroom (already has a queen size bed, dresser and nightstand) into the baby's room. For now we plan on keeping all of the furniture in there since both families live out of state and mine always stay with us. We put the crib in but I told dh that I want to rearrange all the furniture to make it look nicer. Thankfully we have a garage so a lot of items we were storing in closet have moved there. The room stresses me out more than anything else!
  • Ours is mostly done. We need to get a dresser still and hang a couple of shelves. We have the shelves, I'm just waiting on DH to get time to hang them :-) I should have taken a picture of the whole room instead of just sections. Maybe when I get home, I can take one and add it to these.
  • Minimalist here.. until my MIL flies in next month to help me finish it. The room only has an ikea crib, twin bed, and new paint. I'm still busy unpacking and getting the whole house ready I'm too overwhelmed to figure out what I want in the nursery. I specifically asked for double duty shower/nursery decorations so have some picture frames to put up, and my MIL has been crafting for the nursery. The main thing we need to get for the room is a dresser/changing station combo.

  • Well, all of you with too much for too little room make me feel like I am in good company, except I live in a 2600sq foot 4bdrm house! My husband is an ABSOLUTE pack rat and wont get rid of anything, so I just get rid of all my stuff! We really want to keep our guest room, so our two older boys will share a room and the twins will go into the existing nursery. But I am dead set against moving the 3YO from his room until it is absolutely necessary- and it wont be until the babies are 4-6 months old. So, I refuse to even buy cribs until after they are born. Our nursery- for now- will be the corner of our bedroom where the pack n play will be set up.

So jealous of everyone's nursery! Baby is going to be sharing a room with DH and I until we can get DH set up into a new home office space. We are working on extending the garage an aditional 13 feet and converting half of the existing garage into an office. That will free up a bedroom. It will still have to be a dual purpose room, guest room & nursery so we are concidering a Murphy bed for one wall, crib & dresser in the other. I have big plans, but no space to work with!! Makes it very difficult to nest...
  • I have a crib in the guest room that I keep up all the time for my niece and nephew when they visit. I am not planning on decorating.

@laylababe3 i wouldn't stress.. I think a lot of people are in similar situations. And just think - having baby in the room is supposed to decrease the likelihood of SIDS. So you're good! ;) we have converted our walk in closet of our one bedroom apartment into his little space and I'm very happy with it! You make things work with what you have. As long as you love baby, it has plenty already!
  • We moved my daughter to her big girl room in January (I'd slowly been working on that since like April of last year). The nursery we are keeping as is (we were team green with both so its neutral). I need to change/fix a couple things like I should probably eventually change out the baby pictures of DD on the wall..., but its fully functional aside from the fact that my daughter still naps in there (we tried her toddler bed for naps, and it wasn't happening - she's a great napper in the crib still though). I figure the new baby will be in our room for quite a while anyway at night and will likely nap at different times, downstairs, or in the pack n play till he/she's old enough that DD will likely be giving up naps anyway...
  • Our nursery is still full of other stuff.  We have been waiting to have our shop/storage building built since April, but all of the rain has really slowed everything down.  I'm hoping that they finish it this week.  Our living room has been taken over by boxes and other stuff that also needs to go into the shop.  My house is a disaster area until it is finished.  My original plan was to have the nursery finished by the end of May.  Now, I am just hoping to have cleared out and painted by the end of June.  We have been collecting stuff for it for so long, and I can't wait to put it all together.  We are having a Studio Ghibli/Totoro/Kiki's Delivery Service theme.
  • Here are the two walls we have done. Still need bedding, rocker, and chest.

Nursery is done! The last picture is a ribbon mobile I made that will hang over the rocker.

@kclg10 where did you get your curtain?

So I went to see the Avengers and every single time Hulk was on screen this kid went crazy. Kicking moving rolling! It was hilarious. So either he is the Hulk or he's going to want his room changed ASAP! Lol. Love ur idea
  • @msmolecule - Your nursery makes me feel bad about my entire apartment! Super cute!
