These are valid things to want but when I see some of these diaper bags that are $200 plus dollars, I just cringe.

I'd totally pay that much if the bag had resale value - once  you've seen how much people pay for Tulas and cloth diapers, $200 doesn't seem like anything.

I've seen how much people pay for those things, I'm a STM and have looked into both. I see why people pay $ for CDs and carriers but a bag, ehh. I guess that's why it's a UO :)

To continue with the UO of no pants and bare belly pics. .. posting pics where you are clearly naked and your parts are barely covered by a sheet. DH'S cousin posted these on FB (with hair and sheet blowing in the wind). She looks like trailer trash. No one ever wants to see that.

This is amazing! They must have really put some thought into that =))

    Hahaha yes please!!!

Edit: BUT I'm going to assume that most of the people posting pics without pants are also posting pictures of their bloated blump.... And have been "showing" since 4 weeks

I got married last July and I still haven't changed my last name.  I don't plan on it either.  I like it and I have no time to deal with that.
I'm the opposite - I couldn't wait to change my name. But not for the reason most people do. Just because I wanted one name that people could spell correctly without my help.
Ha!  People can't spell or pronouce my maiden name OR my married name!  (Or my first name for that matter)  When I was a kid I hated my name and wanted something generic.  Now, I like the uniqueness of it, and think it's kind of funny how people butcher it lol.

I loved my maiden name, but I changed for two reasons - I AM kind of traditional for one, but more importantly, I wanted to have the same last name as my kids.  But that's just me.  I see nothing wrong with other people not changing theirs, and think nothing of it if they don't!

There should DEFINITELY be a rule.

And I think it goes without saying - if you can't post in your underwear, you shouldn't be doing it nude, either.

@ArchyFlores enjoy your workouts. I have no intention of stopping unless I have complications or my dr is concerned. I'm pregnant, not broken. So much of pregnancy makes me feel like a different person. Workouts remind me that I'm still me and not everything I do has to be for someone else.

  • @lilqt3929 I completely agree. I saw a thread where people where deciding between Tory burch, Gucci, coach, and whatever the hell else for a diaper bag. Are you kidding me? I wish I had hundreds (if not thousands of dollars) to blow on a bag that I'm going to put diapers and burp cloths in. Instead we're trying to put a down payment on a decent house for this unexpected tadpole that just appeared! Maybe my priorities are just old fashioned lol
  • @mamaromeo it honestly makes more sense to me to spend more on a wrap because I would want to make sure the quality is there for both safety and comfort. I wouldn't want my kid slipping out the bottom! Lol

To each their own. People might think I'm crazy because I plan to drop several hundreds on a high-end hand woven wrap for this bean but that's my one splurge. I also plan on buying most everything else we need secondhand or getting hand-me-downs from relatives. I hope no one is judging my priorities, and I will do my best not to judge theirs.
I will absolutely not admit how much money I've put into carriers since I had a kid. Nope.

I also don't care if people touch my bump as long as they ask first (when I had a bump last time and when I get one this time).

Also yes to the Tula thing! I've seen the discontinued limited ones sell for $9,000
  • I really want to replace my mei tai with something similar but better (I just got an infantino from Walmart). I just can't justify the expense. It is by far my favorite carrier, but as I get bigger I won't be able to keep using it for my 1 year old. I have another carrier that will work, but it's not as comfortable.

I'm very into the Tula world (in pretty much every FB group) and this is an exaggeration. I have never seen one go for more than $3,500 if it wasn't a fundraiser for charity. That's still a lot for a carrier that didn't retail for more than $3-400, but it's not $9,000.

We're definitely in some of the same groups then :) I've luckily limited myself to one for the time being. I did see a Tula sell for $6500 a few months back, but most only resell for a few hundred over retail at most. There are some other custom carrier slots that do sell for up to $15K, but I'm blanking on the name....

  • I sometimes have problems with opinions. Like most people don't like mine. I downstate out to offend people, it just happens. I am not married, who knows if we will get married. Who cares really? We live together. Were pregnant and it may not be perfect but it will be an adventure. Even though we are not married, the baby will have only his last name.
And... I like guns. Yup I said it. I am a red neck. I like to shoot. And our child will learn gun safety from a very early age starting with these are not to be played with. Followed by how to properly handle a fire arm when ok enough.
  • Tulas! I don't get it. Are they really worth it or is it just hype. I thought about buying one of the ones that are available online for retail, either that or a Lilliebaby. I haven't decided. Not really interested in getting something HTF so won't be paying over retail. I saw a woven wrap custom go for over $10K, can't remember the exact price, maybe $16K? I heard through the grapevine these larger purchases are usually groups of women combining funds.

  • @Hbirdie- I don't remember exactly which one it was or when it was, but it had my old BMB talking about it for awhile. It was a full WC of a rare wrap with custom accessories.

@MamaFromero - I love my Tula. It's 10x better than my Ergo. I bought it in a stocking, so I only paid retail. Not sure I'd pay over $200 for one, though.

Are the Tula WCs better than the standard Tulas? Might try my luck at stocking. They sure are pretty! But functionally are they the same?

I have a canvas, but a friend has a WC and I'm so jealous. Stockings are insane. People like how much softer they are (they're essentially the best parts of a wrap and a SSC in one).

I have three: my tula, my ergo and a k'tan. And I'm going to by a ring sling for 2.0. I wear the Tula, DH wears the ergo and we used the k'tan for the first 2-3 months exclusively. And I'm probably going to need a toddler tula, too....

My WC is a Tula Tula (full creme de menthe) and honestly I hardly touch it in the summer because I think my canvases are cooler. It's super soft and thick, which is nice, but functionally the same. I also didn't feel any difference in support. I love it because it's pretty, but in general I don't think people who just use canvas are missing out on something super duper amazing, to be honest. I have heard that non-Tula Tulas, like Giras, are thinner do they tend to be cooler and thinner. The Tula wraps' tencil makes Tula Tulas thick and heavy.

Jealous I only have one but I have dh convinced we can get a toddler one next year so dd can ride in one and baby can too.

I want to get some sort of wrap for baby since you shouldn't really use the Tula until they can support their head even with the insert.
