@bethanne09 make the best decision for you and baby. That's all that matters, as long as you feel confident in your decision because you know your doing what's best for you and baby then anyone else's opinion can go out the window. Don't let friends pressure you into something because they aren't the ones going through this pregnancy and they won't be laboring and delivering your baby. Whatever you feel is right for you, do that
So our AC isn't working so well. So I'm in a night dress with the fan on high and an ice pack on my back. I look so glamorous! I'm having pretty bad contractions but they are far from consistent. Lost/losing the plug. Going to Dr tomorrow for my appt. for the last few appts I've had nothing to say. I'll Have plenty of symptoms to list to them tomorrow.
@kelseyharrell if your Significant other is comfortable helping you, he can help or do it for you. Or use a mirror, it takes longer but it's what I did. Or go get waxed?
At a 7 cm, 80% effaced and -2 station last time they checked two hours ago. We're getting there! Hopefully with all this work during labor, delivery will be a piece of cake.....a girl can dream! Thanks for all the love and well wishes ladies. ❤️
Does anyone have any tips for shaving their lady parts this far in the game?
yeah.. its called get your SO to do it for you. but seriously, depending on how big you are carrying/how flexible you are you could do what i do which is sitting crosslegged sideways in the tub and just shaving blind. ive managed to do it pretty well so far. but your legs will hurt a bit. its definitely awkward
Haven't been able to walk without support since giving birth early AM June 21. Getting into and out of bed was a nightmare and I couldn't put my two legs together or move them apart very far. Can't roll over on my side either. At first the nurses probably thought I was being needy or spoiled hitting my call button every time I needed to do the simplest thing, but eventually they realized something was wrong, referred me to PT and alerted my doctor. I had a PT eval, an ortho consult and X-rays today. Turns out I have a diastasis of the pubic symphysis. Basically my pelvis separated too much during childbirth and it's not coming back together the way it should. I can bear the pain and discomfort, but it drives me crazy not being able to care for my baby independently. I have to ask for help getting the baby from the bassinet and positioning him on my breast, taking him off again, changing his diaper, pretty much everything. Earlier today I was trying to move around as much as I could, but when they got my dx they put me on non-weight bearing status until the ortho can see me again tomorrow. They put a hip binder on me which helps with the pain and discomfort but makes me more immobile than before. I need two people now to transfer out of bed and they put a bedside commode in my room so I don't have to go all the way across the room to the bathroom! I have to stay in the hospital another night. My hospital bill will be huge! And I don't know how I'll function at home like this unless things heal up quickly.
Luckily my husband doesn't have to go to school tomorrow so he can help me. He does have some final exams Wednesday but I will have a friend come over and help out. The PT prescribed a front wheel walker, so once I'm off non-weight bearing status I can use that to get around in my apartment, but I don't know how I'll get in bed or take a bath at home. And I was looking forward to starting Zumba again right after delivery! I'll be lucky if I can take a walk outside!
Technically this should be posted in tomorrow's symptoms thread. But I just wanted to let everyone know I am most certainly having contractions. They feel very real to me and close together. They're getting more intense each time. I pray to god these aren't Braxton hicks brought on by a membrane sweep. I really don't know. Hopefully I'll be back with a birth announcements within 24 hours. I'm going for the epidural. I did natural once, this time I want a more peaceful experience. Happy healthy births for all!

ETA: Google says some people get hives, rashes or itchiness post-partum. Sigh. A new thing to call my doc about!
I'm having problems with my skin too. Major peeling on my face and that's making it itch. So weird. I desperately need a microdermabrasion!
My poor little trex arms can barely reach to scratch the bottom of my bump, and I damn near have to turn around and chase my tail to wipe my a$$.
@mellymar @lovethatcolosun @Mandisclark Good luck, ladies! I'm so excited! You'll be snuggling with your babes before you know it
