I hate when people scare others with csection stories. I have had babies naturally and under the knife. My surgery was way easier. 2 days after my son was born I was roller skating. When I had my daughter naturally I could not sit for weeks and it took MONTHS for sex not to hurt me. You can do it all ladies, but what you cannot do is be away for 10 hours. Baby needs you mama!!
@caffeinatedkat I don't think anyone is trying to scare OP with csection horror stories. It's normal to have difficulty moving around after a major abdominal surgery. I'm glad you were able to roller skate two days following yours, but that's certainly ill advised considering you could fall and rip your incision.

3 of my friends had c sections and everyone of the complained about the constant pain when coughing, sneezing, laughing, trying to sit up, trying to get dressed. 2 of them got infected and had to be treated for infections. I had a natural birth and I was up a few hours afterwards with no pain other then my stitches ! I think it all depends on the person, their pain tolerance and such .
I truly can't believe anyone is roller skating two day after a cSection considering you are almost 100% unlikely to even be out of the hospital. Csections require a longer hospital stay because it's surgery. Even with my second which was very easy recovery wise I had to stay overnight two nights after his birth. This is the shortest length anyone I have heard of staying. I was walking and showering but that's it. Most people are in the hospital at least 4 days with a section.

Nope. I was up and walking 4 hours after surgery and I was released at about the 30 hour mark. I am on my 5th c-section now. Never an issue. I use to teach ice skating so it is second nature for me to be on blades (rollar ones in this case) I got out and later that night we went to my nieces birthday party, the quicker you are up and walking and refusing the pain meds the quicker you go. Plus my pediatricians office is in the hospital I deliver it and he's the same doctor for all my kids. He came about 6 hours after baby was born and then back again right before I was discharged to give the baby the hearing test.
Everyone is different, especially with breastfeeding. I think it's great you are being so optimistic about her wedding. You'll be in a routine by the time you go to the wedding and will know better than anyone when your body will need to be pumped, there's usually enough between time with all that's going on you should be able to sneak away and take care of business.
Wow. I can't imagine going to a wedding two weeks post partum, bleeding and not being able to sit and walking funny. Never mind while trying to figure out nursing. Nursing is going to be tricky, it just is. It takes a while to figure out. You are going to be nursing every couple hours and it takes about 45 min to even get it done. So basically you have one hour to yourself. To sleep or eat or shower, take your pick.
Spoiler alert... I do not even bother with pads. I straight up wear a baby diaper LOL another bonus to having a C-section tampons baby !! Did anybody won her about how horrible the cramps are when you first start breast-feeding ? Shrinking down that uterus is no joke girl lol
I don't remember anything from the first month after or so. I had a c section and was fine with walking starting the next day, plus no bleeding or hemorrhoids or soreness, but it did hurt to laugh/sneeze/cough for about a month.
I think you can do it regardless of the kind of delivery you have, but you do need to tell your friend that you're going to be absent for stretches of the wedding. For breastfeeding or to have a good cry (nobody brought up the hormones and crying yet!) or just to lie down. You will probably feel like a deflated balloon- it's impossible to tell how your dress will need to fit in advance, so just keep it big. And getting it altered to pull down the top quickly is a great idea.
Haha well it will be an interesting day that's for sure! Let's just hope my baby is one of the 4% born on their due date and then I will have a little extra time to heal and get used to everything!

You still aren't supposed to use tampons after a c-section...
ETA: I got that from the American Preganacy Association
Yeah well I'm breaking all the laws because I really don't want blood running down my leg at the check out lane lol
I will have a newborn in one arm a 2 year old in the other. 2 other kids running circles around me and a teenager on
Facebook everywhere I go. A tampon is the least of my worries.
Re: Moms who have breastfed: How often do you breastfeed at first?
