Angry Pregnant Ladies...

Re: Angry Pregnant Ladies...

  • I am hiding in the bathroom to deal with a post-partum poop (not the worst thing in the world but not fun) and I realize by changing my Bump status from pregnant to newborn, the Bump removed my icon and now is asking me for a new profile picture.

WHAT PREGNANCY COMPANY THINKS A NEW MOM HAS TIME TO CHANGE HER F'ing PROFILE PICTURE?!

Mother F'ing Bump app, when are they going to get a clue.

Shew. I'm not even hormonal, swear, but that's all kinds of BS.

Wait, is my pic gone now too??

Your still a black cat @hoodoll82
  • I am so mad!! I made a special trip through traffic and heat and a busy mall to buy this picture at pottery barn kids I fell in love with like 5 months ago. The lady was really annoying and kept trying to get me to create a registry with them. Ummm I'm due in 2 weeks, why would I be making a registry right now? Please shut up. Anyway! I told her which picture I wanted and she went and got me one from the back all boxed up and good go. Purchase made. Off I go. Took me an hour and a half to get home! Seattle traffic is no joke.

I just opened the box to show my fiancé and it's the wrong F$&KING picture!!! I don't even know how to react. Im so mad. They are so lucky it's 11pm and it's too late to call them.
  • More annoyed than angry... but my boss asked if we could check in next week, during my maternity leave. I feel a bit protective over the time, but my boss is a good guy, so I'm assuming there's a legit reason he wants to chat. (Hopefully nothing bad is going on with my teammates! We also are having compensation discussions at the firm, so it could be about that. I'm nosy so I don't mind a check-in as to how things are going without me there I suppose.)

I was smart enough to schedule it for a day when DH will be at work - he'd be pissed if he thought I was doing work during my leave! I'll probably still tell him afterward ;)
  • @hoodoll82 Be careful with your leave. I recently read a lawsuit where a company terminated a woman on leave and claimed it was because she didn't come in to work. She claimed she was on leave, it wasn't an unexcused absence. Their response was that because she responded to work-related email (which they asked her to do) she voluntarily terminated her leave by working. The company won the suit and the woman had to pay back all benefits accrued while she was on leave.

If you have a good relationship with your employer, I can't imagine this happening. But it's a scary thought.
  • Yikes! My company has women out on leave frequently and I've been there 8 years... Plus I work on the finance and HR teams so I am pretty comfortable here, but good to be thinking about this! I do know that the main thing is that I can't report time on a timesheet while on disability (so for the first 6 weeks).
  • Yeah they need to quit starting "Awww look at me" threads........ Esp two in one day. Just write a dear diary in symptoms...... Ppl will respond. Not that hard.
  • @Poppy1099 yes. Stores are dangerous at this point!!!! May the force be with you if you do go! Paste that smile on.......
  • @klkonwi @mellymar I'm with you. I get so many "you're due THIS month?" "Are you sure?" It drives me nuts.
  • @JessHeppell yes!!! They are meanies!! Sometimes I go over there just to entertain myself with the drama!
  • Honestly..... I would share my baby names only with you ladies at this point because I've been on this app so long....... Ppl on a random board I would not..... And they are horribly mean.
  • @JessHeppell yes, the names board are full of really snotty ass ladies. I used to go over there and look at names when we were working on our own names list, but once we got a reasonable list I stopped going over there. I couldn't deal with them constantly being judgy bitches. Some of their complaints are valid, some names are holy shit bizarre and / or just terrible, but they will jump all over people with names that are just a little different and really not all that bad, in the scheme of things. I asked them for help once and they were so UNhelpful that I just abandoned that thread

  • @JessHeppell @mellymar Hahaha yes! And they cannot STAND being told that they're overreacting or that some of their name ideas are fucking ridiculous (Rowena? Bertha? Wolfgang? Archibald? NO thank you!). Or when (after an OP has abandoned a thread and they still won't shut up) they are told to let it die because obviously no one cares anymore. I can't *not* laugh at how self-righteous they get over something so irrelevant to their lives.
  • That's so terrible-- I'd rather squabble with you ladies about things that are relevant to me and make me laugh then randos. Commiserating is making this so much better.

I'm just wondering where some of these people are coming from? I mean they're all over the announcement board and posting random threads. It's enraging me

  • It felt braggy, honestly. I wanted to be a lot meaner about it.

It DID feel braggy. I wanted to say 'brag much? Stfu'

  • I will admit I go on the names board quite frequently, mainly to see if there are any good last ditch effort names I can suggest to my very stubborn bf. But I at least try to be polite and make suggestions, some of the people on there are awful.
  • I wanted French fries so freakin' bad and they were cold!! I want to cry and scream at the same time. :((
