My sister is getting married in September and I will be 22 weeks along. I already bought my dress, but it is very form fitted so I am hoping I can get it altered to look ok with my bump. I imagine that isn't exactly cheap though. Worst case scenario I will have to buy a different dress but since I am the MOH hopefully that won't look too odd. Just wondering if anyone else is in a similar situation and what your plans are.
Re: Anyone else going to be a pregnant bridesmaid?
The next wedding is at the end of August. I'll be 4 and a half months! Since this is my second pregnancy, I'm imagining that I will be showing by then. The dress is somewhat flowy but I will definitely have to let it out. I may even have to find extra fabric....
If you are the MOH, I think it's totally acceptable to have a different dress should you need to. It would be awkward if you were just a bridesmaid but being MOH makes it ok!!
The 26 week one I'm not concerned about because it's an empire waistline and very flowy, plus the bride is my sister and she's so excited I'm pregnant.
However, the one at 23 weeks I'm wearing a mermaid gown that skin-tight all the way to my knees. I'm not even really close with her, she's just been good friends with my DH for a long time and doesn't have a lot of female friends so I was asked. Also, she's completely aggravated that I'm going to be pregnant for her wedding.
So I'm obviously REAL excited about that...
As the MOH it should be OK to wear a different dress that's pretty similar. There are tons of brides who have their MOHs wear a different dress from the other bms so they stand out. There are times the bms will wear one color and the MOH will wear the other wedding color. Just ask your sister what she thinks.
My dress is full length brown with a pink sash abd the bridesmaids are all wearing knee length pink dresses.
Like others of you, I'm just hoping I look pregnant and not just like I gained weight!

I would try getting some quotes from alterations people that don't work for David's Bridal or wherever your dress is from. You might be able to find someone to do it cheaper.
Since you MOH wearing something different is fine, plus you should wear something you feel cute in to enjoy the day! I'm sure your sister will be on board with whatever ends up working for you.
I was a MOH 7 weeks PP and I'd MUCH rather have done it pregnant- my body was a disaster so I felt I looked awful and I kept having to leave to pump- terrible!

With my first pregnancy (2 yrs ago) I was 5 months preg in one wedding, and 7 months in a second wedding. I had both dresses altered to fit the bump. The first dress was form fitting, and I had ordered it wayyyy before knowing I was preg. I took it to a my tailor a week before, he told me to go buy fabric that I could find that most closely matched it. He then added a triangle panel along the sides, under each arm. It blended perfectly and no one could tell at all that I had had anything done to the dress.
You might want to try going to a tailor and seeing if they have suggestions for you that can be specific to the dress.
The second dress was Jcrew Bridal, so they were really awesome exchanging the dress and finding a style/size that was better suited for a 7 mo bump.
I think pregnant brides and bridesmaids are awesome! Weddings are about love and family, and that's where babies come from LOL.
Best of luck to you all with your dresses, I know we'll all be BEAUTIFUL :x
