Hello all!!
I was just wondering if something I experienced might be implantation bleeding... 2 days ago, mid morning I woke up kinda yellingng/crying out with really terrible cramps. The pain/yell woke me and my husband right up. It lasted for a few minutes and I got a heating pad. Then it happened again a couple(?) hours later... I thought my period must be coming but then nothing. So the day after (yesterday) I found a single tiny dark brown streak of blood... That was all. And I haven't bled since... I don't know about timing, my period have never been regular. Sometimes it will be 2weeks apart and sometimes 5months. So I was just wondering if this sounds like implantation bleeding or if you've ever experienced something like this??
Thanks!
Re: implantation bleeding?
We have been married since September 28, 2013.
We had our first child, Zoey, February 7, 2016.
IB (implantation bleeding) is very rare. Some studies show that is happens less than 20% of pregnancies. Other studies show that is more like 5%.
It can be only noted in hindsight. Like after a positive pregnancy test. There is many reasons for mid-cycle spotting, and we have no way to know what was the reason for your spotting. However with the horrible sharp pain, it could be a ruptures cyst on your ovary. More women say that implantation cramps, are 'cramps', or a 'dull, achey pain'.
And
thanks you all for really insightful, nice, respectful answers. i did not ask anyone to tell me if it was for sure IB. in fact i only wanted to know if someone else had a similar experience. im not stupid, im very aware that the only real way to know is a positive test. but since ive never had children, or even been pregnant. and have crazy stupid cycles i can never be sure what is what. i was just looking for some friendly advice. you did very well in proving that you cant provide that.
i know my own body so, i know it wasnt my period + i bleed for at least 3weeks when i have a period.
the only thing i learned here is that there are some really cruel women. thank you for showing me how positive and caring for others you all seem to be.

i can only do 2 things to stop it. 1 is birth control (and that doesnt always help) and 2 is have a hystrectomy
We are not trying to be cruel. If you are seriously ttc, there is a ton of great info on this site to help you get Ku, ie temping, reading materials, chart stalks etc. However we get asked this question MULTIPLE times a day. It gets very frustrating women coming in and posting a thread about a topic that was just answered in a previous thread. If people would look on even one or two other threads they would learn some dos and donts of this community. Op look around and you may come to realize how much info is here for the taking if people would just look

Agree with PP that you need to get a second opinion in you're 3 wk periods.
This is a MAJOR issue. My oldest daughter had this issue and after MANY MANY tests she was diagnosed with a genetic blood disorder similar to hemophilia. Please find a doctor willing to do the appropriate tests to diagnose this issue. Endometriosis is only 1 of several issues that cause excessive menstrual bleeding. If you're seriously TTC the first step is understanding your cycles. If you don't understand them you're just throwing darts in the dark. Just my 2 cents.

My sister started having abnormal cycles like you, so after 10ish months, I finally convinced her to go to my OB. My OB was shocked and worried. He orded a bunch of test, and U/S, his major concern was cancer. He said that long period could be a sign of abnormal hormones (especially estrogen), and that is a major sign of cancer. He said that she not have waited that long at all.
Thank God her diagnosis was PCOS, which is what I have. However, my mom and grandmother both had uterine cancer, so we are already at an increase risk anyway.
@PocketFullofShells thank you!!

I have irregular periods. That doesn't mean I symptom spot or sympathize with anyone who does.

And I have irregular cycles thanks to PCOS. I don't symptoms spot*, it is inaccurate and emotionally time consuming. I know actually when I ovulate, and there know I when implantation would occur if fertilization happened.
I also know when to take a pregnancy test.
Charting is wonderful for women with wonky cycles.
