Not planned. I must've ovulated later than usual. I was just going by a standard calendar. Totally my fault because I should know that I don't always ovulate normally despite having a regular period. With DS, I conceived 2 days after my period ended!
Surprised, but I really shouldn't have been, that's what happens when you don't even try to pull out a couple of times!! It's a wonder we ever even made it to the wedding without getting pregnant. Haha
Planned but it was still a bit of a surprise, I had my Mirena IUD taken out on April 9th and we thought it would probably take a couple months of "trying". Due date is tentatively January 15th!
Planned, had a Nexplanon taken out in September (if anyone wants a foolproof BC this is the one) it took awhile for my body to ovulate again and then we waited a few more months before trying. I tracked my temp and used OPK and within 3 months of so so timing and 3 months of good timing it worked! I also used other herbals like maca and royal jelly to boost things up and took (and still take) baby aspirin. We used preseed as well when needed.
We knew we wanted one more, But DH wanted to wait at least another year. I knew I had missed a few pills on my last round of BC and was in the process of going to get a different one, when hello BFP.
Both! We tried for over 7 years with no luck. Started the adoption process and SURPRISE!!! A wonderful unexpected and long overdue unplanned planned pregnancy.
Planned but unplanned as well! lol I went off BC to regulate to start trying b/c w/ DS it took forever to start ovulating and we used the pull-out method...guess DH didn't have good control and I guess I ovulated the first month of of BC!
So planned in that I was purposefully off of BC but unplanned in that we were yet trying!
We weren't preventing exactly but we weren't actively trying. We had to use Clomid to get pregnant with our first and the timing of our "oops" wasn't great to get pregnant but I did and we couldn't be happier! We were planning on starting to try the next cycle so it wasn't like we weren't ready or anything.
Sort of planned but totally surprised! Just had a vasectomy reversal at the beginning of April and it must have happened the first time after that! Very excited to know it was a successful reversal though
Totally unplanned. We've been tracking my dates and using condoms when I'm likely to get pregnant. My cycle is exactly on time every month and this has worked since my son was born almost 2 years ago. Other forms of birth control have been problematic for me. Apparently, we screwed something up because- pregnant! Still trying to work past the stress and anxiety to get excited.
Planned! Been trying since Feb of 2014 on our own but found out I have PCO and hypothyroidism so got all that on track with the help of my doctor in November. Took fertility pills from Nov to April and then in May we found out we were expecting! We found out super early, since we have been trying. So it's making for a long 1st trimster. But loving it! (:
Surprise! We had protection issues, haha! We are both totally excited though. We wanted kids within the next few years and our 5 year anniversary is next month so it is good timing.
Planned, but the timing was a surprise. It took us almost a year to get pregnant with our first, so I went off birth control like 4 months before we were going to start trying and got pregnant instantly! Like literally the month I went off it! Our kiddos will be 19mo apart now, which is closer than we originally planned, but I think since they're so close in age they'll be best friends and it'll be awesome! (After its really really hard the first few months.)
I have been wanting a baby for 2 years. My husband and I decided to start trying a year and a half ago with no luck. I even tried Clomid with no luck. I finally said forget it...it will happen when it happens. We stopped trying in March. In fact, I said, "I'll probably get pregnant after I finish my Masters. " I kid you not I found out I was pregnant the day after I graduated from my Masters program! While we very much want this baby, we didn't exactly time it.
FFC: with few exceptions, I don't get how surprises happen. Pregnancy is kinda easy to prevent. (Puts on flame-retardant suit)
I agree- this one is a "surprise" only in that switching off the pill and trying NFP was a fail for us, but we were going to try for #3 before too long and we weren't THAT surprised, more like, "huh- well that did not work."
Planned. We started trying in November and then when it didn't happen right away within the first few months, I stopped making such a big deal about it. I started feeling like Elizabeth Banks in What to Expect When You're Expecting, the first few months of trying, lol. I kind of backed off with the crazy charting and making sure intercourse was happening during that fertile window time, and we just said to ourselves; "When it happens it happens."

This one was pretty much planned (just happened faster than we expected) but our first was unplanned. I don't do well with hormonal birth control, but I was on the pill at the time, so it made me sick a lot- to the point where I would actually throw it up. I missed one pill and BAM pregnant. We used condoms after that.
I have PCOS which makes ovulation very irregular and hardly happen. We haven't had birth control for a while but weren't actively trying. We started talking about getting pregnant and that's how I found out I had PCOS.
It was recommended that I change my diet before jumping right to fertility medication, so I cut out flour and sugar from my diet. Over 6 months I lost about 20 lb and my period started regulating and all of a sudden BFP!
So it was kinda planned but honestly I thought it would take longer, so it was a very pleasant surprise!
unplanned! I have never been pregnant before (despite intermittent birth control use) and have history of PCOS/irregular periods. I was told I'd need to take drugs when/if I wanted to have kids. So I wasn't being as careful as I could have been! But was still surprised.
Ours is a surprise, we use natural family planning, so we abstain during fertile times. Have used it successfully for 8 years with no surprises. This one was conceived from doing the baby dance 6 days before ovulation thanks to ovulating three days before when I usually did. We always know it is a possibility to get pregnant unplanned based on our choice in birth control and are very happy to be welcoming our third baby in January.
Planned but unplanned. Started going to d IvF clinic but we only reached the part where we was doing blood work and then I did a ultrasound and they said I'm looking preggers but wasn't sure and there I was preggers
