Unplanned... But definitely not unwelcomed! I honestly thought that I absolutely could not get pregnant due on irregular periods and failed previous attempts... We are both so excited and it still seems surreal that this time next year we will have five month old twins!!! Yes. There's the other part of the surprise... This is a twin pregnancy (and there are no twins in either of our families!!)!!
Surprise! Apparently antibiotics can interfere with bc. Go figure! But I am always prepared for blessings. So there's that too
That's pretty common knowledge. ..
^This. They always tell you that at the doctor's office and the pharmacy. And there's the little info packet that comes with the drugs.
I got antibiotics from A&E a few weeks ago and the doctor didn't tell me anything about contraindications. I can understand how some people wouldn't know, unless they read the leaflet and how many people actually bother!
Mine was unplanned but it wasn't too much of a surprise because we weren't as carful as we should have been!

No need to be rude. No one told me either, at any time. I had an implant for years, took it out and switched to bc pills. No one told me anything about a reaction and I got pregnant on antibiotics as well.
This is #2 and it took 6 months of trying for #1 so we decided this time to start trying again slowly and the first cycle of condom free sexy time and we were pregnant. Didn't even think we had the timing down but alas, here we are!
A total surprise. I was on BC and take it religiously.. We're only 20, but we've been dating for 2 years and living together for a year and a half, so there's that... We're getting more and more excited but it was definitely a shock.
Unplanned. Whoops! I've used the rhythm method my whole sexually active life and I have been REALLY great at it. I never really wanted to mess around with birth control. Call me crunchy or old fashioned...whichever :P
We had talked about having kids prior and SO made a point of not wanting me to be in the third trimester during the summer. He's a thoughtful man. So, we would have probably started actively trying next year around this time. We both knew we wanted to have children together.
Both. We planned in trying in May, but then it happened in April... I think this is why they tell teenagers to wait, in the heat of things contraception isn't the first thing you reach for.
I have PCOS, diagnosed 9 years ago, on antibiotics for 9 years due to blood disorders, never got pregnant all that time while on BC. Got off BC pg in 2 weeks with first. Got back on pill for a year, we decided to try again, this time, I think I got pg right away, but had a miscarriage before testing positive. I think because I got my typical pg symptoms, frequent urination and nausea. Only ever get these when pg! Then 3 months later pg now with current baby. Same symptoms. Why I provided all that, is to show every woman's body is different, and we all respond to antibiotics and conditions like PCOS etc differently. Either way, I don't think any baby is ever a surprise, it's no coincidence because of God's plans. Let's all celebrate!
Unplanned, we weren't trying but we also weren't preventing. He likes the "lets see what happens" approach. I went out of state for 3 months to help with family, first week back with DH I ovulated and BAM!! Surprise! We're having a baby! We both couldn't be happier though. :x
Those of you who are surprised half of us got pregnant using the rythym method (or w/e) must have been paying close attention in health instead of skipping class to make out with some football player in the backseat of his Jeep heat of the moment sex makes people stupid and careless then either pray he didn't (prayer works!) or conveniently "forget" he came inside LOL
This was not my experience, ofc, but half the girls on the cheerleading squad got pregnant every year at my high school.
Planned. I've been battling endometriosis for almost 5 years. We've been trying to get pregnant for 2 and a half. I had my second surgery to remove a cyst and clean out the endo last April. So even though we were trying, it was still a shock when we got the positive test result.
Unplanned. The one time he didn't pull out, I got pregnant. Hubby was ecstatic, I cried because I was so shocked and unprepared for it to happen on the first "slip," but we are pretty excited about it. 10 weeks now
Planned, but still shocked for my husband and I! Especially since he is diabetic, and we are both a bit overweight, the doctor said it could take up to a year. But only took one try! :x
We weren't "trying" but had talked about it and decided we wanted things to happen naturally with the first. Just see where it falls. I knew we'd have a baby eventually and I couldn't be more excited! And the timing is also very nice!! We won't be big and huge in the middle of the summer!!
Totally unplanned! (I'm halfway through nursing school so having a baby wasn't at the top of my to-do list) I was on the Junel 1/20 pill (the free one at CVS...must be damned sugar pills) I took the pill the same time every day too...the only thing I could think of was I had the flu pretty bad a couple of weeks before I got preg. Obviously wasn't on antibiotics or anything, but maybe somehow that might have messed with its effectiveness? I'm still confounded to be honest. The baby is a very welcome surprise however, and my husband has been bragging about his "miracle sperm". His reaction when I told him was "That's great! This is a good thing. Hey birth control, step aside, I got this!" makes me crack up every time I think about it
Beyond unplanned. I'm 20 an pregnant. Guess the depo shot and condoms was beyond a fluke. An I think the frosting the cake me and the guy isn't even together.
Ours was both! I got married in March, took my IUD out in April and said when it happens, it happens. I had one period then got pregnant right after! I was happy tho, I had my fingers crossed it would happen quickly
@monie2323 Nope he wants no parts of it. An what's messed up about it. Is right after I told him. I just found out two days ago that there's now naked pictures up of me an him all over Facebook an Instagram. I'm like really. I don't need this right now. So I've just been stressed to capacity.
Both planned and unplanned, with ds it took almost 2 years of temping, opks, and lots of sex to conceive. We started talking about a second in December, I stopped the pill and although we only had sex once in January I got a bfp had a miscarriage in march waited a month and then only had sex once in April and bam another bfp. So apparently not having sex works best for us lol.

I'm with you Maddison! Super excited either way

Everything happens for a reason!
