Ahh I am so obsessed with documentaries on like anything. But my all time favorite show is Sons of Anarchy. I'm watching it my second time through. It's so good.
Has no one yet recommended The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt? It's uh-maaaazing. So funny and original and ridiculous. I also second Daredevil and OITNB. If you like kickass females, Agent Carter is fantastic. It's a Captain America spinoff series that takes place in the 40s. Not sure if the first season is on Netflix yet, but watch it when it is! I've also heard great things about Grace and Frankie.

I knew I was forgetting something! Kimmy is great! I also started watching Chasing Life and Gilmore Girls.
The Avatar series and The Next Avatar series are also really good. Not sure if they're on Netflix or not. I sometimes get movies and series that sort of fell of the back of a router if ya know what I mean.

I was just looking to see if someone recommended the unbreakable kimmy schmidt! Love that show.
OITNB is another great one. And call the midwife is great but makes me cry way too much.

I love Call the Midwife, buy you're right. For a show about Midwives there sure is a lot of death! I'm so happy OITNB is coming back soon! Just in time to ease my pain from GoT season ending!
@veckia, have you watched the Mindy Project at all? It's mostly only on hulu, but it definitely fits your criteria.
Oh man, I totally agree that it should. Female, non-white protagonist and producer..... but it actually makes me super depressed. I had to quit watching it because it just really highlights in really unredemptive ways all the things that suck about being a woman. The protagonist is painfully aware of her body and copes with her imperfections through denial. There are a ton of guy characters and they are all misogynistic @#^^#%$&^#$. Sexual harassment happens constantly in the show and is treated like a normal, ok thing.
@vexymommy, I love Avatar and Korrah!!! You can watch Avatar: The Last Airbender on Amazon Prime, but I don't think Korrah is available outside of buying the dvds yet.
Oh, and I just remembered Princess Jellyfish! It is this random anime I found on Netflix one day that stayed home sick from work. I'm not super into anime.... I was actually searching for Princess Diaries because I was feeling sad and sick and wanted something nostalgic and girlie. Netflix doesn't have Princess Diaries (at least the first one), but Princess Jellyfish was offered to me. It is only one season, but it has great music! I really enjoyed it a lot.
