10 pounds and up club!!!!!

Re: 10 pounds and up club!!!!!

  • I'm happy to see this thread! I've gained 23.5 pounds at 24 weeks. I never had morning sickness, so I started gaining from day 1. I'm hoping that the slow and steady gain will help prevent stretch marks, we'll see! I was a size 4/6 pre-pregnancy and I wear size small in maternity clothes now. I'm wondering if the weight gain will slow down for me. I can't eat big meals anymore, and I don't seem to get hungry after lunch. Pregnancy is weird!

I have gained 10lbs and I am 23 weeks. I am not worried about it yet - however, one of the doctors I seen said she doesn't want to see me gain anymore 20lbs. I am trying to eat healthy and go on walks in hopes this helps. I was not the smallest girl ever before I got preggo - oh well!
  • I'm up 15 pounds at 26 weeks. From only weighing 98 lbs only a year ago to 110 right before I got pregnant to now weighing 125. That's a lot of weight gain! :)

I was one of those that was not gaining much at first, but trust me, at 23 weeks it is now going on much more rapidly!! Go easy on yourself!
  • I will be 27 weeks on Monday and I have gained just about 25lbs =/
  • I'm up about 25 lbs at 26 weeks! Never had any morning sickness and really started gaining quickly at the start of the 2nd trimester (up to 3lbs a week!!!). It seems a little crazy bc I eat mostly healthy and I've stayed active but Dr is not concerned so I'm trying not to be either. I should mention I was about 115-120 pre baby and I'm 5'7" so I've always been scrawny. Arms, legs and face are still thin but bump is large and in charge and my hips have gotten much wider/booty more full. I'm AMAZED with what my body is doing and am loving some curves that I never had before. Hoping all goes back to normal after she's out but for now enjoying the ride as it's so worth it!!!!
  • I'm 25 weeks and gained 23 pounds! I don't know what is going on but this is horrible! I work out 5days a week and eat well but still packing on the pounds. Talk about depression!
  • So far I've gained 11 pounds, which at 23 weeks I say isn't too bad, well wouldn't be bad if I wasn't already overweight. My doctor isn't too concerned, especially since I'm keeping track of it and that I know I gained weight because for the last month I've had this crazy craving for cake, like all I want is cake and fruit bowls and I did indulged... A lot :) but I'm gaining slowly, about 4 pounds a month for the last two months. my doctor is really only cautious about me gaining more weight because I developed high blood pressure at 10 weeks, no meds for it yet and we are hoping minimal weight gain will keep it that way :) I think baby has my back because I can eat small amounts and feel super full, I think that's how other girls are staying below the 10 lbs.
  • I would like to add that my doctor thinks my morning protein drink is what's causing the weight to pile on quicker. I eat very little meat, it grosses me out most of the time, so she wants me to stop and see if that helps, just to take my vitamins and eat like I am. I've been drinking it since I was 16, my mom and I were vegetarian then vegan, I started trying to eat meat again for my husband. He loves to bbq so I try his food and it makes him happy :)
  • 22 pounds here at 24 weeks. I was so sick for 5 months and now I'm eating everything! My body seems to want to hold on to every piece of fat!
  • I'm up 20lbs at almost 26wks.
  • thats where im at! hoping to maintain for a bit. third trimester is hwere it piles on for me!
  • Had my 25 week appt today and I've gained 16lbs. I'm measuring a few weeks ahead also so I'm getting an ultrasound on Friday to check baby growth.

are you having  a girl? lol, i have 3 girls and always had that sweet tooth! 1 boy and all i wanted was veges
  • Oh girl I'm at 20lbs at least!
  • Still at 15 pounds at 26 weeks, is it normal not to gain for a few weeks?
Whew idk how i havent, i cook a cake every weekend and just bought stuff to make rice krispy treats! Need sugar every dayyy
  • I've gained 19lbs so far I'm 24weeks. Im very active with my job and training 4 times a week so I guess it's a lot to do with extra fluid, blood and a bit of fat your body is holding onto to feed baby. I personally think there's no point weighing yourself at all during pregnancy as it can be very demoralising and it doesn't reflect your real weight anyway. Just stay healthy and active and after you give birth the weight will just fall off
  • I'm 23 weeks and 3 days and have gained 18 pounds. I was healthy weight prior and gained 30 lbs with my first son and hope to top off at 30 Again.
  • I think as long as you're taking care of yourself and keeping everything in moderation (desert, exercise, etc!) we're all doing the best we can when it comes to the health of our babies. Just because you may have gained 20 or 25 doesn't mean you're doing anything wrong!! I've only gained 12 at week 24 but I'm sure it's coming. I'm just trying to stay active when I can and eat when I'm hungry vs eating bc it's meal time. Our bodies know what the baby needs and when it needs food!

  • I am 20 lbs up at 26 weeks... glad to see this is kinda normal from what I have read in this thread... :)
  • Lol @barrelocarol hahaha, girl I would have but this was 4 weeks ago when I started it. tomorrow I go in for my 24 week and I'm terrified to see my weight gain! I'm already chubby so my body doesn't need more fat, but I also can't starve or just eat spinach salad. I think this thread proves that around 20 pounds at this point it totally normal.
  • I'm 25 weeks today and have gained 8 pounds from my 7 week appointment where I was weighed
  • I am 26 weeks and gained 18 pounds.

I am now 25w3d and have gained 12 pounds. I am pretty much all baby right in the front! Hoping it stays this way so I have less to lose after delivery!
  • Just got weighed at my 26 week appointment and I'm up 20lbs exact so bring on the 20lb+ club!

I refuse to worry about it, which I will such to until I hit 200lbs. That's 15lbs away and I will panic and freak out when (if!!) it happens. But no, mostly I'm in the camp of take it easy, don't stress, don't overindulge and let your body do what it needs to do. I just need my body to understand that it doesnt need another fifteen pounds to do what it needs to do.
  • FTM and I'm up 15 pounds at 24 weeks! I'm only 5"2/5"3 so you can definitely tell but I'm feeling like its a healthy weight as I'm still working out. Baby girl is loving sweets and I have a hard time telling her no.
  • @theglitteredpterodactyl It sounds like you and are about the same weight at 26 weeks... was your doctor ok with your gain?? I am so worried for my next appointment that I am going to get told to slow down... hard part is I have AWFUL pain in my stomach and back when I just go for a walk around the neighborhood--as well as pelvic girdle pain so if she does tell me to start working out more not sure how much more I can do! ha (bc my eating is healthy with a couple indulgences here and there)

At my 19 wk apt I had only gained 2lbs, then at 24wks I was up to a total of 11lbs. I was sick until wk 15, so had actually lost weight. I'm all baby right now & hoping to not gain more than 32lbs which is what I gained with my other 2.

I'm just under 5'4" and started this pregnancy at 165lbs, just for a bit more context. My doctor hadn't said anything about my weight until I finally just asked her a couple of weeks ago, but she's also super mellow in general. She said maybe aim for no more than around another ten fifteen. I move around a lot at work and have a dog to walk so I think since I haven't had any real physical issues she's not worried. She's also just a general family doctor, not an ob, and I've noticed she seems to fixate a lot less on the specific details like I've from others on here doctors. But she's absolutely great, she's been way on top of what she needs to be paying attention, like the bits that made me temporarily high risk.

I understand the social pressures of gaining weight during pregnancy, and I'm definitely not immune to them, but just take it easy, be good to your body by listening to view its feeling and remember it's going through a whole lot (lol like you can forget).
  • I can finally join the 10lb club. 23w5d and officially up 10lbs at the dr office today. 6 of these pounds came in the last 5 weeks so we will see what happens next time?!?!
  • I could have written this!
  • Gained 16 maybe 18 lbs, my boobs haven't gotten much bigger.
  • 23 weeks and gained 18 pounds it feaks me out sometimes. Glad I look pregnant not just fat now though!
  • I started this thread, 4 weeks ago I wish up 12, today at 24 week appt I'm up 3 more at 15 pounds. My doctor hasn't said anything about my weight, but I'm really trying to walk more and indulge less.
  • Uhg, I only read the first few comments and I stopped because I'm still discouraged. I've gained 20 pounds and I'm 23 weeks 6 days. Kind of nervous about tomorrow's doctor's appointment...

  • The 10+ women I know who've had children within the last three years all gained a minimum of 40lbs. Don't feel bad lol.

Ladies, we're all over 1/2 way through our pregnancies, as long as your healthy and your baby is healthy, screw what the scale says. :D:)>- WE'RE THREE MONTHS AWAY FROM SEPTEMBER, every pound is just another pound closer to having our babies in our arms :x :) .
  • I hate that I'm letting weight gain stress me out. I am 25 weeks tomorrow and I've gained 6 pounds. I started overweight, I'm 5'4" and was 163 pounds. My doctor said yesterday that he would like for me to only gain 10 more pounds. I'm thinking that's going to be easier said than done..
