I'm 27 weeks and 20lbs up. I wanted less but I got pregnant and was on vacation so I started heavier than I wanted. Hopefully I won't pile it on the next 13 weeks but whatever happens, happens!!
@surprisepkg31 you are in a completely healthy range! Our bodies know what they're doing and know what's best for our babies. Sounds like you are healthy and exercising so you will recover nicely, especially if you are able to breast feed. FTM & I'm at 25 weeks and I'm up 14 lbs. with no worries :] I'm eating healthy, staying active and trusting my body. Doing my best to enjoy every bit of this journey knowing that the result will be our precious baby girl.
I hate that I'm letting weight gain stress me out. I am 25 weeks tomorrow and I've gained 6 pounds. I started overweight, I'm 5'4" and was 163 pounds. My doctor said yesterday that he would like for me to only gain 10 more pounds. I'm thinking that's going to be easier said than done..
So you've only gained 6 pounds? This to me is crazy and the reason I made the thread because I don't know why you're worried! This was to kind of highlight and find those of us who have gained 10 or more pounds to which at this point seems impossible to be anything less! While Im sure you're just looking for some comfort, check the reason of this post, girl all of us here are way ahead of you are doing extremely well, so I guess that can make you feel better.
@surprisepkg31 She's worried because she has a 10 pound limit and she still has the 3rd trimester to go through, which is where you're suppose to gain the most weight. That means you're doing better than her because you can gain more total weight. BUT, @adtaylor2015, I think you can totally do it! Talk to your doctor about it. And if you get those great habits set now it should make getting down below your pre-pregnancy weight WAY easier after baby; if that's a goal you have.
I'm starting to learn every woman gains so differently. I RAPID FIRE gained in the beginning of pregnancy. 27 weeks, from 113 to 133. I'm seeing a slow down in weight gain, however.
My doc said gaining in stages just doesn't happen for all women. She only cares about overall weight gain rather than month by month or trimester by trimester.
My doctor wasn't overly concerned today. I had to ask him about my weight because he didn't bring it up. He said I am a little ahead schedule, but he believes better monitoring of what I eat will help. He wants me to take in more protein than carbs, which I am going to find difficult. I love carbs! I haven't eaten more than I typically do, but I definitely take in a lot of carbs and sugar.

I don't know you, obviously, so I don't know what your baseline health level is or how you carry your weight but I'm right around that height and weight prebaby and no doctor has ever had any issues with my weight. Just because googling the number tells you you're fat doesn't necessarily mean you're at an unhealthy point.
Take deep breaths and just work on growing your baby the way your body tells you to. Reading these weight forums have been fascinating, and have convinced me that your weight gain has almost nothing to do with your lifestyle. I've seen so many posts ranging from "I'm at the gym every day and eat nothing but protein packed kale smoothies and I've packed on thirty pounds" to "I'm lazy and don't care and eat what I want when I want and I've gained ten pounds" and every combination in between.
I think it's weird that doctors think we have that much control over the amount of weight we gain. I mean, we have control over our behaviors and eating, sure, but the actual weight? You can't control that. You don't have some checklist-carrying bouncer outside your stomach being all "Oh, hello there extra pound of fat, you've been declared unfit for this pregnancy and can't stay. Out you get!"
I'm 26 weeks and up 26 pounds, I was a little worried about it, but my OB says she's not concerned at all. Whew! I'm a few pounds shy of my husband at the moment, I'm planning on taking a picture of the both of us when I reach his weight and putting it in the baby book.
Re: 10 pounds and up club!!!!!
