i am 7 weeks tomorrow and I've already gained 4 pounds, despite the fact that I'm too nauseous to eat much. I thought you weren't supposed to gain until the second trimester?
None and I'm not supposed to gain any weight (big girl checking in). Once I make is past the first trimester I'm going to be hitting the gym for cardio and light weights as much as possible to try and not gain any weight.
I am 8w tomorrow and so far I haven't gained a lb in the past month. I'm a little overweight to begin with since I never lost all the excess weight from my last pregnancy. Pretty sure I gained 8-10 lbs in my first trimester last time. Eating was my best friend!!
I would guess most of the weight any of us has gained is bloat from water retention not actual baby weight. I haven't weighed myself but I fit in all of my normal clothes so I don't think I've gained anything.
I've lost 8lbs since finding out I'm pregnant. But I do have hyperemesis, and caused me to throw up everything I ate, I'm on diclegis for it now and have gained 2lbs back in the past week. So all in all I've still lost weight vs gaining. But I know I'll catch up when the morning sickness wears off!
I am 9 weeks and have lost 10 lbs from really bad morning sickness. Although today I managed to eat a real meal so hopefully the end is in site for this awful m/s.
I've lost a couple pounds, but my gut looks like I've gained 15, thanks to bloat. Everyone gains weight differently, though, so try not to compare yourself. Last pregnancy I had only gained about 5 lbs by 20 weeks, but I made up for it in the second half and ended up putting on 30 lbs when all was said and done, which is pretty average. Others on my BMB put on more weight in the beginning, and then slowed down in 3rd tri. As long as you're eating well, I wouldn't worry about what the scale says unless your doctor is.
I've gained no weight at all Dropped down from 60kilos to 54kilos in two weeks because I've been so sick. I'd rather be gaining than losing. It's very worrying.
I gained 3lbs in the beginning and then lost it when I lost my appetite. Back to my normal weight. I have to make sure I don't lose too much weight with this nausea being so small to begin with.
Bigger mama checking in 5w6d - no gain yet, hopefully I can keep it to no gain throughout, or very little at least. Planning for better eating and light exercise.
I have gained 3 (it's actually just been in the last 3 weeks )
Last weekend was my bday weekend, DH & I went out of town and I majorly indulged! So I am paying for it this week with feeling extra bloated and gross.
I wouldn't worry too much about weight gain at this point. Like pp said, some gain more sooner, some gain more later. First pregnancy I gained 10lbs first tri and went on to gain 30 total the whole pregnancy. This time around I think I've maybe gained a couple lbs, but clothes still fit- I think it's mostly in my swollen boobs.
My goal was not to gain any the first trimester. I'm 6 w 6 d. I thought I had gained 2 lbs but finally went to the bathroom and I'm back to my original weight. I'm overweight now so I know I shouldn't gain to much overall. I am extremely bloated though and it's awful. It's very uncomfortable.
First time mom here ... I was on a strict workout schedule prior to getting pregnant and from the time of the IUI I have been too afraid to workout like I used to - this is bad because my weight is best controlled with exercise. I am back to walking when I am not too tired and I haven't had any morning sickness; nothing has gotten in the way of me and snacking! All of that said, I have gained 10 pounds in 6 weeks ... somebody stop me! I hope to balance weight gain once I leave the first trimester.
A few things I read that give me hope:
1) Your uterus doubles in size in the first five weeks
2) During pregnancy, the volume of blood in a woman's body increases by a whopping 50 percent in order to help support the uterus
3) You retain more water
4) Your body begins getting ready for your baby by storing fat. Most of this fat is stored during the early weeks of pregnancy. Some fat is stored in weeks 14 through 28.
5) Gaining enough weight is a good sign that the nutritional needs of you and your baby are being met and helps make sure your baby is also gaining enough weight.
I'm not sure of my weight gain or loss until tomorrow, I don't own a scale. My 8w US is tomorrow and I'll get a weigh in. I've had terrible morning(all day) sickness since 6w. So I'm sure that I've lost. But according to my belly there's more bloat than ever. So who knows! Lol
Bloat is definitely a game changer. Im at 9w1d, only technically have gained maybe 2-3 lbs., bit I feel like I look like +20. Ugh. Got a comment about my baby bump the other day....nope, just a gas baby showing at this point.
I'm 8weeks and already wearing maternity clothes because mine don't fit me anymore my boobs are now a DD and I can't even fit into a AU size 14 jeans .
Ugh, about 3-4 lbs already. I barely move all day from all day nausea, and what I do want to eat isn't great for me (carbs). Sooo... I'm not totally surprised. Once I'm feeling better I'll start exercising and watching what I eat better. Hopefully that'll be sooner rather than later.
Before getting pregnant I got pretty thin for my body type due to job anxiety....5'8" and was about 143, I think right before getting pregnant I was about 148/150. Got weighed on Monday and was 150. I think my body is just turning soft. It's gross. I can't work out because anything moving too fast makes me dizzy and nauseas.
I was convicted I had put on 2 or 3 kilos, however I just weighed myself and I'm the same weight as before.... My boobs are massive and my waist and tummy are so much thicker, but I actually think it must just be bloat. I have been exercising as normal but I haven't eaten as well I could all the time... Can't say no to my cheese cravings...
I'm 7w5d and have gained maybe .5lb. With my first I didn't gain until 18w and then it was 1lb/week for a total of 23 (I went to 41 weeks) . I hope I can do the same or close this time but with a toddler it's much harder to stay away from the food! Anyway I've barely gained but man I'm bloated!
I lost a couple of pounds because I started eating healthier after a few food benders due to travel and weddings (no sickness yet, knock on wood), but I LOOK like I gained 5lbs, thanks to bloating!
I'm 8 weeks and also wearing maternity clothing I've gained 4 lbs so far, some of my regular work pants do not fit me anymore (can you believe 4lbs makes that big of a difference??).

I've lost 8lbs since finding out because the sickness has been so bad. Confirmed hyper G and oh my it's real!!!
