My UO is I hate pregnancy parking....as a a pregnancy dietitian exercise is important in normal pregnancy--labor is an athletic event! If you need close parking during pregnancy for medical reasons your doctor will give you a temporary disability parking pass!
I had a couple patients that would want to complain that all the spots were taken (I'd estimate that my group class was mostly first time moms and I had 30 new pregnancies per biweekly class at our military hospital--when the boys had came home...so I am sure one of the other 1200 or so other pregnant women in this hospital did take one of those 6 parking places.
I feel the same way until that last month. By that time, I may see if DD can push me around in the shopping cart
I posted on the other UO because it came up the first 6 threads...is that determined by number of posts or most recent activity? I thought it was there because it was current and popular?
You can sort posts by original posting date, or by most recent. Most recent will push older threads to the top based on the last comment made. Original posting date keeps the most recent posts (by post create date/time) no matter what the most recent comments are elsewhere.
You can check for this on the computer near the bottom of the listing of threads. You can also do it on mobile, but I don't remember how at the moment.
@kcas123 yes!!! let me eat what I want. my moms the worst lol.
my unpopular (or popular ha!) opinion is I hate when I tell people I'm pregnant and they immediately asked what happened with my birth control. yes it wasn't planned but it is truly a blessing! and it's a little personal dont ya think? obviously accidents happen, didn't think you needed every detail.
Why are there two of these now? Was the other one getting too big?
Whatever. I'll post here for good measure as I posted in the other one before.
UO: My tapered TWA (I wonder who even knows what that is) is both a cultural and regional hair preference and some may dislike it. That is my disclaimer for: I cannot stand those short Midwestern (is this a Midwest thing?), highlighted and flipped up hairstyles. I. Just. Can't. I think they age women.
I lived in the Midwest most of my life and moved to Califirnia 5 years ago. I know EXACTLY what Midwest hairstyle you're talking about. And the Midwest in general ages you.
No offense, it has its merits and most of my family is still there, but I look at pictures of myself now vs. then and between the makeup, clothes, and general crappy outlook on life, I looked so much older then.
UO: yes we have 3 girls, no w are not "trying" for a boy. I don't give a rip what sex we have.
It's literally every single person, even my doctor. We have two boys. But our answer is YES, we were trying for a girl. We used the Shettles method. But if we have a boy, we will be elated. So I understand your frustration!
I hate food related topics bc they are boring but I have a uo.
I like ketchup on my mac n cheese.
I loooove ketchup on Mac N Cheese .... Ooooohhhhh Mac N Cheese sounds so good right bow, but I want like the crappy Kraft box ones. Oh yeah, I'm classy I know
Ok this might be a UO or maybe I'm just really not classy but Kraft is the best!!!
So reading about mac and cheese made me super sad. As a rule, I get mac and cheese anywhere and everywhere it is offered. I prefer my homemade organic mac and cheese but I always try it at new restaurants and such. That being said, I tried to have a bowl when I was 5 weeks pregnant and the texture had my stomach all kinds of nauseous. Needless to say I have avoided my absolute favorite food since then.. I JUST WANT SOME MACARONI AND CHEESE!! PLEASE, LITTLE ONE! LET ME HAVE IT!!

That's how I felt after I had to take the bacon off my bacon cheeseburger yesterday

My DH had a V in January. We weren't "trying" for anything. Granted we don't fly that piece of info out in public but it's just so irritating. FX you get all the girl babyness I personally think they rock
While i sit here trying to remember my uo, I'm just going to throw out there that I went to gap today and a good chunk of maternity stuff is on sale plus 40% off. I got 2 sweaters for like $5 each, cute lounge pants for $4, tees and tanks and some super cute skinny jeans for fall. Every item came in under $8. I love me some maternity clothes and i guess i don't understand the hate. I wear maternity clothes for months postpartum lol
Ok I remember. I, for my life, do not understand pregnant boudoir photo shoots. I'm not talking naked with a strategically placed scarf for an artistic type of pic but the legit lingerie-wearing-showing-off-the-bump type pictures. It weirds me out!

I saw a new one the other day- veteran parking!
Now, I have had many friends who are veterans and have been involved in charities for them, but I didn't see the point. If they truly were disabled, wouldn't they have a disability parking pass already? And none of the veterans I know would WANT to have a special parking space.
Ok, probably going to offend people, but thats why its a UO... I cant stand when people call their baby by their first and middle name all. the. time. It makes me cringe. I also think posting nude belly maternity photos on social media is wierd. That and ones where your belly is painted. I know pregnancy is beautiful and blah blah blah but I just cant stand nude and painted pregnant belly pics.
My UO is that I really don't like drama - lol @313Meg . I am SO non-confrontational that drama just makes me uncomfortable. It's like being stuck in the room with your parents arguing. It's not aimed at you, but you can't escape it and there's nothing you can do about it! I don't mind differing opinions and whatnot, but I hate watching people argue. I usually just go the other way as soon as I come across a thread where people are arguing, like "no worries, I'll just go read an article about that topic". Lol, don't worry about me, I'm a weirdo!
Also, if a thread has hit more than 2 pages before I see it, I probably won't read it...I'm lazy like that (and this is why I don't post very often lol)
Why are there two of these now? Was the other one getting too big?
Whatever. I'll post here for good measure as I posted in the other one before.
UO1: I do not understand how people have more than 1-2 best friends. This is highly personal, perhaps, but I am not for everyone. I don't see how it is truly possible.

My Tapered TWA = My Tapered Teenie Weenie Afro
And I agree with you, it is pretty silly.

@erikaalzet From your picture, your hair looks gorgeous. I've always thought afros on women are absolutely beautiful and I would have one if I could. Unfortunately I have stick-straight, fine, limp blonde hair. What I would do for curls......
And if you think midwestern hairstyles are awful, try West Virginia. My family is from there and we went to visit last weekend. Mullets, mullets, everywhere. Men *and* women. And the worst bangs- really short bangs that start halfway back on their head.
Hey now! I don't know where you were in WV but I don't know anyone with a mullet! (In the 80's that would have been a different story - i would like to burn some of my Mama's pictures from my childhood.)
@erikaalzet and @satindawl83 Now I'm curious as to this midwest hairstyle you're talking about. Can you find a picture online and post it?
I see a lot of this in Indiana. Since I'm so close to Chicago though, I'm pretty lucky I don't see a lot of it.
Yes. For me, it's more the streaky bob in the last few photos. In the Midwest, hair appointments are a THING. And acrylic nails. I'm so guilty of the acrylics, though. Didn't understand why you'd get a manicure without them.
When women bitch and cry about how fat they are at 120 pounds... That's literally half my size! You make me want to start punching people!!! STFU!!! You can still buy regular sizes, who f***ing cares?!?!
@erikaalzet I have toyed with the idea of "natural hair" I am 1/2 scandinavian & 1/2 black....and I use a kiddie relaxer which I wash and go and have somewhat defined curls. I looked at natural hair videos on youtube but they all still seemed to be altering texture. Have you seen anyone with their natural black curls worn without twisting etc to another texture?? They all had pretty hair and I don't dislike those hairstyles, but I just don't have that kind of ENERGY!
I am stuck between worlds for hair dressers--we move every couple years and I swear my biggest moving anxiety is a new stylist and new church! My hair is ethnic enough that "white salons" don't necessarily know what to do (so they straighten and cut conservatively). My mom tried to take me to a "black salon" as a child they refused to see me because my hair wasn't ethnic enough :-S My grandma's salon greased my hair and hot combed it...it was to greasy for a ponytail until I washed it out of trauma at day 3, my hair refuses to absorb hair grease, my grandma's and aunts hair absorbs it all.
What you see in my profile pic is a twisted out tapered cut, but on a usual day I just wear it as a wash and go. Your best bet would be to google wash and go styles. Depending on the length of your hair, "altering" by twisting at night actually does help the health of your hair.
Though that is an old picture of Sharon, no woman regardless of age should have to wear a certain style because of their age. Be a classic beauty at 20,30, and 60.
And Faith's hair and that other lady (is that Heidi Klum?) those are not the styles I'm referencing. I happen to think they look nice there.
I know a girl who used to live on the East Coast, then moved to some Midwestern state (said with all the arrogance of a New Yorker, oops) and got what I have now dubbed a Midwestern Mom haircut. I don't know what they are called.

@TomekiaB I totally get what you're saying and it can be exhausting to take care of natural hair but as @erikaalzet said altering between twisting or braiding it's more to help protect your hair, you can always do wash and gos and twist maybe one night a week. I mostly twist my hair once a week and wash or co wash it every other day. First two pics are my natural texture after a wash and go on two separate occasions, third is after a twist out, twisting decreases shrinkage and provides less volume for me than my natural texture. You can send me a private message and we can share hair tips and products if you want (I'm a product junkie)

This a small selection of the styles I am referring to. I don't like them on anyone. Anywhere.
Yeah, that's ick.ETA: It looks like an 80s gym teacher hair do, at least the one on the left. Kate Gosselin's hair is just a mess. Apparently, she only has Yes people and no one to tell her any different.
My current UA of the day is moving closer to the grandchildren... My parents like where I live better get along better with SO and me better than my sister and BIL. Like they can't even stand being in the same room with them for an hour, but they looking to move by them because they have the 2 grandkids. Only reason by me is even in the conversation is because I'm pregnant. 4 hours from grandkids better than 14 :-/
Moms/parents using a toy doll stroller as a baby stroller!!!! [-X Those flimsy plastic and cloth strollers aren't meant to hold the weight of a baby or toddler.

Never seen this. DD's baby stroller is her height. No way that an adult could put a baby in there and push it around.
Lol I like all you UOs! Ok here is mine I hope I do not upset too many people. I like other people's pets (dogs/cats) more than I like other people's (strangers') kids. When I see a dog/cat I feel affectionate towards it immediately. That does not happen as often with children. I think it became worse when we decided to have our own, to the point that if a stranger's child is misbehaving I feel hostile towards the child and the parent! That does not apply to kids I know, and yes I do like some strangers' kids too. It is just the fact that I feel stronger for pets that creeps me out!

I see it all the time here in Maine, esp once you get north of the "big city" of Portland, ugh.

Ok not sure what type of stroller you're referring to, but my daughter's stroller is less than 2' tall.
