Re: UO

  • This is what I'm talking about, it's made to hold toy dolls, like cabbage patch kids.
    Oh ok.

@TomekiaB I totally get what you're saying and it can be exhausting to take care of natural hair but as @erikaalzet said altering between twisting or braiding it's more to help protect your hair, you can always do wash and gos and twist maybe one night a week. I mostly twist my hair once a week and wash or co wash it every other day. First two pics are my natural texture after a wash and go on two separate occasions, third is after a twist out, twisting decreases shrinkage and provides less volume for me than my natural texture. You can send me a private message and we can share hair tips and products if you want (I'm a product junkie)
    Aw, pretty pics @fiorip !

(You're such a relief after streaky Kate Gosselin et al :)

My UO, you can't feel your prune or lime moving because science....stop making threads about it. I'm scared that in a could of weeks everyone will be posting "Guess the sex of my baby, look at my ultrasound" posts...maybe those have already started. Yikes.
Yes, those started a while ago...

Thanks :) It isn't hard to top that though, It is truly awful looking hair. Can't imagine someone who actually likes that hairstyle.

I can't take much more! I seriously come on the bump more for laughs now than support. I don't get how people think they will get different answers from the same group of woman. News flash we still don't think it's your baby you feel, bleeding is common early on, and I'm not a doctor so can't tell you if it is something to worry about! Call your doctor if you have a serious concern or heck ask a close friend of family member.

*sorry of typos or spelling. To lazy to check it haha.

Lol same here. I don't take this place seriously at all. But it's awesome entertainment ;)
  • That I don't know what the F**K UO stands for! I'm assuming O is for opinion, but what's the U stand for and is there a book somewhere that you all learn this shorthand? It's worse than a textbook, I have to stop & google each one, or try to figure it out with context clues. Also, I really don't like the DH, DD, DS thing. DS is one letter shorter than son! Just type son! & darling is just too, well, darling. I'd never call my husband darling. But why must everything be abbreviated? I've even started doing it myself when I talk about my miscarriage & type MC, mostly because I feel like I'm supposed to. I actually clicked on this discussion, because I thought, "Oh, maybe now I'll figure out what the U stands for, but NO, that's all you wrote- UO!!!! And............ end rant here. There really should be a list of these crazy abbreviations at the top of each community board though. :)

  • I posted this in the last one but that seems to be dead.

UO: I fully plan on having an epidural-- I'm the only one in my prenatal yoga class. It's interesting how other moms are our harshest judges. I really don't see the problem, long term studies show no effect on babies? Yoga moms were kind of vicious about it, seems counterintuitive.
Same! I will be as drugged as they allow! That baby can float on out for all I care!!

My UO is that I really don't like drama - lol @313Meg . I am SO non-confrontational that drama just makes me uncomfortable. It's like being stuck in the room with your parents arguing. It's not aimed at you, but you can't escape it and there's nothing you can do about it! I don't mind differing opinions and whatnot, but I hate watching people argue. I usually just go the other way as soon as I come across a thread where people are arguing, like "no worries, I'll just go read an article about that topic". Lol, don't worry about me, I'm a weirdo!

Also, if a thread has hit more than 2 pages before I see it, I probably won't read it...I'm lazy like that (and this is why I don't post very often lol)

Yes! Yes to all this. To me it's just silly human nature; the way the drama goes down and then people get upset about the drama. It's funny and unfortunate and awkward and inevitable....sigh.

Thank you!!!!!! I love my husband. But who came up with DH?! My husband would feel emasculated if I called him darling! Haha
  • @TheThornBird That seems like a lovely way to make a veteran an even bigger target for ISIS....we have been told due to security concerns to clean up military affiliations on facebook etc but now they make parking?!
  • @fiorip and @erikaalzet Thank you, I was confused since all the blogs and youtube videos I came across were  talking about complicated sounding protective styles.

@fiorip I'll have to PM you, your hair looks similiar to how I currently wear my softened texture, if I could pull off a wash and go like yours I'd be a believer. My hair curls okay wet but it just shrinks and frizzes so much when it dries when it isn't relaxed.
  • @TomekiaB Haha! It wasn't my instructor-- she had an epidural halfway through her 48 hour labor. Just pretentious and (I thought) ignorant classmates with judgy tones. It just surprised me that a yoga class would be the place to spout venom about other moms' choices.

  • @VegDumpling prenatal yoga is often the first time many of these people have done yoga, so they might not be the most representative of the community. I also noticed that many people find yoga because they seem to need to work through their "stuff." I am a christian, yogi, runner but I also believe in using science and modern medicine to improve our lives! In my opinion the only prize for being in unreasonable amounts of pain...is bragging rights, but my friend professing her love for the anesthesiologist that gave her the epidural makes a better story!
  • I don't really have a UO at the moment... I just get stuck in the threads FOREVER reading all the post thinking of a gazillion responses to everyone and by the time I get to the end of the thread I do not remember a single of the responses I had. So I think I just had a little useless rant.

Oh and thanks to the folks for actually telling me what UO stands for.

It wouldn't hurt to familiarize yourself with TB glossary. I think this comes up several times a week. This should help with some confusion.

Thanks Meg! I haven't been referred to that before and it will help a lot! Most of the time I just pretend to know what they all mean :)

  • SHE DOESN'T EVEN GO HERE!!
  • Amen to that. Just eat the freaking hot dogs, it's really not a big deal.
  • @redfallon more of a confession than a UO, but I've never seen A Christmas Story. But I know there is that leg lamp thing in it, haha
  • The only reason I've seen A Christmas Story is that it's on repeat for 24 hours on xmas... I like the part where the dogs steal the turkey

  • Apparently a UO: I LOVE "Christmas Story" I swear it gets more funny every year I watch it. Mostly the pink bunny costume which makes me laugh until I cry and my abs hurt :) I might watch it for "Christmas in July!"
  • I have to bring this thread back up because I just got soooo irritated... Ladies, we are PREGNANT, we are NOT DISABLED!!! Unless you are having medical problems in your pregnancy why why WHY are you acting so fragile and like you can't go about your daily activities?!?! There is stress everywhere, get over it! Ahhhhh!!!! ~X(
