@erikaalzet From your picture, your hair looks gorgeous. I've always thought afros on women are absolutely beautiful and I would have one if I could. Unfortunately I have stick-straight, fine, limp blonde hair. What I would do for curls......
And if you think midwestern hairstyles are awful, try West Virginia. My family is from there and we went to visit last weekend. Mullets, mullets, everywhere. Men *and* women. And the worst bangs- really short bangs that start halfway back on their head.
Some of my family is from WV too, and I have to agree! I cringe when I visit.. thankfully I haven't visited since my grandparents passing in 2009. I may never have to go back lol
@erikaalzet My SO says we need to add the Kate Gosslin/reverse mullet haircut to the poster board. Oddly enough I always liked that haircut but all men seem to hate it. Lucky for him I will never, ever cut my hair short again after the hair disaster of '13.
@imfunsizeniki I don't blame you for not wanting to go back! This past weekend, my former uncle (now divorced from my aunt) hit on me. I know we aren't genetically related, but he's still family, I'm pregnant, my SO was right next to me, AND HE HIT ON ME. Really not helping with the whole incest stereotype. That being said, the rest of my family is awesome, and WV does have it's charms
@313Meg and @erikaalzet we had Ten Things Tuesdays. 10 randoms that people were thinking. Threads did get long though so if we do that again lets do Two Things Tuesdays. That's what we do at my Facebook Sept mammas group.
I'm just going to say this to get it out bc after the past day, I need to.
It bugs me when people come on here and are like "why the need for drama" or negativity or disagreements... It's going to happen. It's TB, and far more tame than it used to be. You are on a board of 1,000 women with vast opinions. Just bc someone disagrees doesn't = negativity. TB was not made for puppies, rainbows and support. We are real women and all think differently. It's going to happen. Get over it.
I know people don't agree w everything I say. And I'm ok with it. I've said this before, if you stick around you have an opportunity to build a foundation and community of women in various situations and beliefs going through a similar thing. Which is so cool and has in my experience, created some lasting friendships. Right @redfallon ?
I hate people who do not return their cart to the cart corral at the grocery store. I don't care how old you are or how many kids have, or whatever other random excuse you have, put the cart away!
@313Meg what happens on Tuesdays? (No mean girl references )
I want a Tune Tuesday. That sounds cheesy, but no one talks about music here! That is a drag. We need to liven up the place.
I don't remember if we had a Tuesday thing??? Redfallon would remember I'm sure. That sounds fun!
Hey Kylene! Missed you.
Twatwaffle Tuesday! The person who is annoying you the most that day. Or we used to do TMI Tuesday, but that got old when every week we were all talking about our discharge. :-O
@313Meg before my UO, I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate you calling me your "friend," you make me laugh with your quotation marks! Love you girl!
I didn't want someone saying "YOU DON'T KNOW HER".... you are my friend without quotations in my book. But I wasn't ready to argue with someone on something stupid like that.
LMAO... I found it very funny! And cute… You're the best!
My UO this week is that everyone has such high expectations - about their appointments, about their bodies, about their husbands, about their pregnancy in general. Don't you realize you are just setting yourself up for disappointment?!?! Just go with the flow people!! I know it's easier said than done but SHEESH.
My UO is I can't stand all the "graduation" ceremony's that kids are getting these days. When I got promoted from Kindergarten to 1st grade we did NOT have a graduation ceremony. That started a few years after I went through kindergarten... and now I hear my nieces and nephews taking about, "I graduated 3rd grade." Ummm that's not even the end of elementary school... I just don't get it. You don't graduate at the end of every year for crying out loud, you get promoted. Period.
Agreed. We just had "award ceremonies" yesterday and today for all of our Pk-5 students. Everybody not only "graduated" but got a special award of some sort. I'm sorry, but little Johnny does not deserve an award and a ceremony every year for showing up to school more often than not. What will happen to these children when they grow up and realize that the real world rarely hands out participation awards?! That went on longer than intended and I will stop before I start pulling out the "when I was a kid" statements.
Pill shaming really irks me. As does the disclaimer "I just choose not to take the risk." Like those of us who have to take medication for one reason or another are enjoying an exciting game of pill popping roulette for the fun of it.
I hate food related topics bc they are boring but I have a uo.
I like ketchup on my mac n cheese.
I loooove ketchup on Mac N Cheese .... Ooooohhhhh Mac N Cheese sounds so good right bow, but I want like the crappy Kraft box ones. Oh yeah, I'm classy I know
My UO is everyone at work telling me what I should and shouldn't eat. I had a cookie today and my coworker said "shouldn't you be eating something healthier then that." If I want a damn cookie, I'm going to eat a damn cookie! Needless to say I bit right into my cookie and walked away!! ☺️
I want to bitch slap these hard core people who find offense in everything. Everything is a racist, feminist, or whatever issue. No. Stop.
Worse is the people who then use these platforms to excuse themselves from rules that have been around forever. I just can't with people.
Maybe I just hate people.
Haha my hubby has said this multiple times when he's offended people (he's a bartender and very sarcastic so he pisses off drunk people on the regular). He just tells them "no your not that special I don't like people." It always made ME laugh but I guess that's why we are married.

Ok this might be a UO or maybe I'm just really not classy but Kraft is the best!!!
Not sure if this is a UO but I think the 3D ultrasounds are creepy. I told my hubby that I really didn't want one. That was until I found out that's what they use for testing (yeah I know should have done my research but dear god there is only so much I can learn in 7 weeks). I have one scheduled for June 18th and I'm kinda freaked out. Haha

I've had to get the 3D at every scan so far because I have a septated uterus and it's how they measure that. You think it's weird for the pictures when they're farther along but it's extra creepy when they don't even look human yet haha
My UO is that people don't have enough respect for certain professionals anymore.. Everyone knows better than their doctor, kid's teacher, police officer etc. I'm not saying to blindly always trust them, ask questions, research your own (reputable) information but maybe accept that they know more than your coworkers mums sisters cousin who once had a cold.

I posted on the other UO because it came up the first 6 threads...is that determined by number of posts or most recent activity? I thought it was there because it was current and popular?
I hate food related topics bc they are boring but I have a uo.
I like ketchup on my mac n cheese.
Ew. That's grodie. Haha
I also love ketchup on my Mac and cheese. Super yum. Also, I try to post answers on more threads, but for some reason the app on my phone doesn't always function so I get really frustrated and don't end up responding. I hope to participate more fully throughout this "magical" time. My current UO is people constantly asking how I'm feeling. Like I'm fragile. I appreciate the caring but for serious.
@erikaalzet I have toyed with the idea of "natural hair" I am 1/2 scandinavian & 1/2 black....and I use a kiddie relaxer which I wash and go and have somewhat defined curls. I looked at natural hair videos on youtube but they all still seemed to be altering texture. Have you seen anyone with their natural black curls worn without twisting etc to another texture?? They all had pretty hair and I don't dislike those hairstyles, but I just don't have that kind of ENERGY!
I am stuck between worlds for hair dressers--we move every couple years and I swear my biggest moving anxiety is a new stylist and new church! My hair is ethnic enough that "white salons" don't necessarily know what to do (so they straighten and cut conservatively). My mom tried to take me to a "black salon" as a child they refused to see me because my hair wasn't ethnic enough :-S My grandma's salon greased my hair and hot combed it...it was to greasy for a ponytail until I washed it out of trauma at day 3, my hair refuses to absorb hair grease, my grandma's and aunts hair absorbs it all.
My UO is I hate pregnancy parking....as a a pregnancy dietitian exercise is important in normal pregnancy--labor is an athletic event! If you need close parking during pregnancy for medical reasons your doctor will give you a temporary disability parking pass!
I had a couple patients that would want to complain that all the spots were taken (I'd estimate that my group class was mostly first time moms and I had 30 new pregnancies per biweekly class at our military hospital--when the boys had came home...so I am sure one of the other 1200 or so other pregnant women in this hospital did take one of those 6 parking places.
Re: UO
This may be more for FFFC, but the weekly posts help me to remember what day of the week it is
Jamie
To keep things clear, we could make sure to put the date on the weekly posts. This would be UO 5/28.

August '18 March Siggy Challenge - You had ONE JOB

Completely kidding! That is not my UO
