So I had my monthly appointment today. Everything is normal, good blood pressure, good measurements, we heard babies heart rate fine. Only minor issue is that I'm monitoring my blood sugar (not gestational diabetes, doctor is concerned about me being pre-diabetic) but I've been monitoring since around 10 or 12 weeks. He said there was traces of sugar in my urine which he attributed to eating a sugary breakfast but did not seem concerned about it. He just told me to watch my carb and sugar intake and continue to monitor like I have been. I'm now 25 weeks and the doctor said we will now be going in every 2 weeks until the end of the pregnancy. A friend of mine who is also pregnant did not start going every 2 weeks until she was like 31 or 32 weeks. He didn't lead me to beleive that we were doing that because there was anything to be concerned about or because anything needed to be monitored more closely so my question is..
Is anyone else now to the point of biweekly appointments?
Re: Doctor every 2 weeks?
I don't know when my doc starts biweekly's but I know she keeps referring to me as "early on" in the pregnancy.
Also his nurses asked me how I was as I don't call in between visits enough haha! So I totally feel better now
ETA whoah sorry for the hijack thread. I blame baby hormones
Totally normal, as they just want to monitor the baby more closely now.
I don't mind - my doctor is only 10 minutes away
Good Luck!!!!
I've actually been going every 2 to 3 weeks since my very first visit with my doctor because I started with enough health issues whose management required Class B and Class C drugs, and we want to be extra careful that baby is developing normally despite them (all signs point to a healthy baby so far, though). I have asthma, nasal polyps, and some major medicine allergies.
The month I had my sinus surgery I saw her weekly....pre-Op, post-Op, and just in case.
I actually did a happy dance when she gave me a month off! LOL......not that I don't like her, I LOVE my OB, but it's nice to be healthy enough to not see her.
I actually didn't mind seeing her so much. It was a great peace of mind thing. The second I had an issue, I could tell her....instead of waiting a month.
