So, I decided instead of always wondering when baby is coming, I am going to enjoy the time before baby gets here. Honestly, I can't wait to hold and love on my baby. However, I'm a FTM! I am going to enjoy time with my husband and family. I am going to focus on getting the nursery finished. I am going to read a book or two and maybe have sex a few more times. I'm going to enjoy time with friends and enjoy just me. I am on alert for contractions and other normal signs of labor, but for now, it's going to be like "Labor, what labor?"!

My DH takes me for drives in the country out by the farm and it's incredibly helpful. Just listen to the radio and tune out! Its crazy that it won't just be us two out roadtripping soon! I think that's why I'm so sad he's gone for an entire week!!! Bleh. I need those drives.

I think you make a good point! In some ways, it'd be nice to go a little overdue - DH has booked his paternity leave to start on my due date, and my FIL flies in to stay with us about 5 days after that. DH has been working at least 60-70 hours a week lately, and it would be really lovely to have those 5 days as just the two of us without him having to work.

I totally agree. I think I need to calm down and just relax. Make sure to soak up with time. I hate wishing time to go by faster then when it does it's so sad

I love this! I just started my maternity leave (due date in 2 weeks) and I just want to relax, nest a little and avoid the work/friend/family drama. Hoping we all can enjoy the last few weeks before baby arrives.

I seriously couldn't have said it better myself. It's a very exciting time and the anticipation is a lot to process when such a big life change is emanate. Being a STM it's a bittersweet time going to a family of four soon. I can tell you that though we may be uncomfortable it's important to really enjoy this time and relish in your freedom to have me time, go to a spontaneous movie or date night, sleep through the night (sort of), not smell like sour milk, and have option to take just a purse with you when going out. Here's to the last few weeks!!!

Hubby thinks I'm in denial, but really I'm just trying to soak up the last few days or weeks that I can before little man changes our lives forever.
We spent yesterday poolside and we've been fitting in as many dates, movies and dinners as we can!

@Kresla , just a warning about having sex a few more times if you want to enjoy your time pre-baby. We just learned that sex really does induce labor! My water broke at 38 + 4. But of course, if you're ready for baby, go for it!

I am a STM, so I agree, enjoy your time to yourself. However, since my life is already different, I'm enjoying my time with our daughter as much as I can. We go to the park and library and whatever else she loves. It's tiring chasing her all day but she's worth it

I love lists. While I would love to make a must do before baby gets here list I'm working until I get put on bed rest or baby is here. I would love to take my pup to the dog park get my hair cut and my nails done and take a nice relaxing nap. Since baby is so high though and my asthma has gotten worse I'm really ready for her to be here, so I can breathe again.

I love lists. And I love checking things off. I was seriously toying with the idea of making a list of like 75 boxes for contractions and crossing off each one...if I'm having contractions every 5 minutes that's like 3 hours. I know it sounds silly to some but it will make me think that there's some sort of end, and then I'll just move onto the next sheet. I like seeing things in front of me. Reading what I wrote it really does sound completely asinine but...hey can't hurt right? Whatever gets me though each one!

Love this idea and need to take the advice. I'd like to think I'm normally a rational person and know better than to entertain the craziness going through my head now days. But getting close to DDay has turned me stupid. i need distractions asap

Amen! I read somewhere that one way to keep yourself sane is to do Something Productive in the morning, Something Fun in the afternoon and Something Relaxing in the evening. Going to start this routine on Saturday when maternity leave really starts. It sounds kind of nice, so here's hoping to hit my June 5 date or even a little later!

I like that plan a LOT! I need to start implementing this this weekend also!
