Up 22 pounds at 25 weeks. My doctor is not concerned, because my weight gain is steady and just barely above the trend line for 35 pound weight gain total. I eat fairly healthy and exercise.
I LOVE that you created this thread! I have gained 25 pounds so far and have no idea how some people are only gaining like 3 pounds. Congrats to them, but I am certainly not one of them! I'm not eating like crazy and still hitting the gym 4-5 days a week so my doctor doesn't seem concerned, but damn that number on the scale is hard to look at lol
I have gained 20 lbs as of 22 weeks. It's all my belly and boobs though; the rest of my body is exactly the same. I gained 40 with my first and 25 with my second. Each time I had lost all of it by my 6 week check up, possibly sooner. I credit that to breast feeding
I'm 23w and started pregnancy122 and I'm at 131.) I considered myself pretty active before pregnancy and still walk daily/tennis lesson 1x/week. I've heard exercise is great for an easier labor from several friends and my doctor. I'm just eating in moderation. If I'm not hungry at dinner then I don't eat dinner. I may have a salad or cereal at 5 that suffices for a few hours.
As long as everyone is doing the best they can that's all that should matter. Our bodies are all so different,
I put on 10 lbs before I even saw the doctor. 4 more since February. I gained 40 with both of my previous pregnancies, but mostly in the 3rd trimester. I think I've gained this month. All the ice cream, cheesecake, twinkies, and sour patch kids have to be adding up by now!
I'm 24 weeks and have gained 28 lbs, all in the chest and bump. Last week I gained 4 lbs alone in 10 days - baby must have had a huge growth spurt because I sure didn't change my eating habits! I was a bit concerned at first because my doc initially recommended I gain 15-25 lbs total ... that is definitely not happening at this point. But considering I'm eating the same as I did pre-pregnancy to maintain my weight and trying to stay active as much as I can with this added pressure on my feet/legs, I'm not too concerned. My mom had big babies and my DH was a big baby, so I'm definitely not expecting a 6-lb'er! Everyone carries differently and sometimes, even with healthy eating and exercise, some of the weight gain is just out of your control! I won't be concerned unless my doc becomes concerned.
(I also had no morning sickness and instead had major food aversions and carb cravings, so I gained probably 15 lbs in first tri.)
My previous pregnancy I gained 80 pounds. I'm doing much better this time and at 24 weeks I've gained 16. I say do what feels good. If you feel like exercising then do it, if you don't, don't worry about it. Your body is going through a lot of changes and stressing about one of them, your weight, is not going to benefit anyone.

I was exactly 10 pounds up last week. I am overweight so I've really been trying to not over-eat. My doctor was complementing me on managing my weight. Made me feel better. I have a goal of only gaining 25 at most. I am still getting ms daily though and also feel my stomach getting full quicker. I can't finish most meals in one sitting like I could before getting pregnant. So, I think that is helping.
I will be 25 weeks tomorrow and have gained 11 pounds so far. I blame it on the baby just wanting those cookies and ice cream. :-) My doc also said to only gain 15 pounds, but at my last visit she upped it to 25 cause she thinks baby is gonna be BIG and I'm already measuring 5 weeks bigger. YIKES. So far though I still wear my same clothes they just stretch a little and I'm all bump. I started at 219 and am now a solid 230 even. Doc says all my levels are good though and is happy with my overall health. Here's my most recent bump pic.
24 weeks and up 30 lbs ! Baby is healthy and doctor is okay with the weight gain . She said to expect to gain another 8-16 in these last few months! Mommas gonna have a big healthy boy - perfectly okay with that .
I'm only 5 foot, so when I gain even 5lbs you can see it. Sucks. Anyone else gain all their weight in butt/hips? I look like a freaking Kardashian from behind/sides lol. But my legs are so short it's just not cute to me, I need to wear 6 inch heels to look normal, which I never do except for my bump pics haha. I'm also a 3rd trimeater gainer, I was looking at past pregnancy book and I'd calculate my weight, I would do so well, then at the end just explode. I hope I can keep some control of it this time around, it's a pain to lose afterwards.
Same here! I don't Know how people lose weight when only carbs help, I'm trying to maintain or low it own now as long as I can since I'm pretty sure all the gain was from the first tri sickness.
I am 23 weeks and gained 22 pounds. I was pretty small to begin with, so it was very shocking to see my body change. But my doctor is not worried. I always watch what i eat, and havent been eating more. The weight just keeps piling on, so im just trying to embrase my new body and ill worry about losing it afterwards.
@angelargrock I've gained 32 at 25 weeks. No shame in this mama's game! Haha. Pre preggo I was really fit and muscular, and for the most part my legs still fit in my size 4-6 pants. All my maternity clothes are still size small. I asked my doctor if she was concerned and she said not at all. If she's not worried then neither am I!
I had zero morning sickness. I've gained 20-25 lbs. I was 135-140lbs pre pregnancy and I've made my way to 155-160lbs by 23 weeks. I'm 5'9 so it hasn't shown much in my arms and legs (or my bum which I actually got disapointed about lol). My midwives haven't even mentioned my weight really...
I have gained 16lbs at just 22w5d. It is definitely all baby and a little in the "boobage" lol. I have gained about a pound a week for the last 3 or 4. I'm not worried about the gain as long as my baby is healthy.
I'm at 22 pounds at 25w5d. I've been hard on myself but my midwife said my weight gain is good and my husband says I look the same except my belly. I was already overweight but I'm trying to just focus on eating okay and not freaking out about the scale. As long as my midwives say I'm doing okay I guess I'm fine with it!
I always am surprised that people seem to know exactly how much they've gained. I never know exactly how much weight I've gained because I never really know my starting weight. I had my first doctors appointment 10 weeks in and I assume I had already gained a pound 2. Plus, I rarely remember what the scale at the doctor said. I guess I try not to focus on it too much. I try to eat healthy and stay moderately active and figure my body will take if from there.
That being said, I know I'm up more than 10 lbs. I think I was probably like 132 when I got pregnant and am like 145 now, so 13 lbsish at 25 weeks.
Wow, I've gained 30 pounds already....I'm not ashamed to admit it nor do I deny it. My doctor isn't concerned & I personally don't think I look that different besides the bump! I'm perfectly okay with my baby being a big girl & im willing to have a c - section & all. I'm sure I'll gain at least another 10 & I will get over ittttt.

Yes! I'm a thigh/butt weight gainer. You're NOT alone. Thankfully that also means that when I lose the baby weight, it'll come from there right? I'm keeping my old jeans.

Hey, that's my weight range! cool! Don't feel sad about no weight showing up though. Carrying weight like a short person isn't... Preferable....
I have been so self conscious about my weight it's ridiculous. I was already over my usual weight when I got preggers. Since I've gotten pregnant I've gained 15 pounds and it's not slowing down. That was at last weeks visit. My doctor told me to steer clear of sweets and walk 30 minutes a day. I walk on my lunch breaks and try to stay away from sweets but in not attacking all foods so I honestly don't know what's going on lol! I just know that I have to get serious about life after baby, especially since I will be off 4 months.
17 pounds by week 24. I'm a little concerned, but once school's out of the summer this tired teacher will have time to take walks in the morning (yey!). I tried walking after work/dinner, but the 80 degree weather is hindering that completetly. I'm still able to wear some of my regular shirts/sweats/ect., so that gives me hope haha
I'm 23 weeks and have gained 15 pounds. It all came on REALLY quickly! I only gained 5 pounds in the first18 weeks and since then the rest has come and it keeps coming! At first it freaked me out because my weight has not changed at all for the past 6 years up until now but there is another human inside me! I'm expecting that the pounds will keep coming and I am just starting to be okay with that.
I'm 23w and have gained about 20. Been gaining a pound a week pretty consistently from the beginning. I eat just like I did before I got pregnant with the exception of a big bowl of yogurt every night before I go to sleep which helps me not wake up starving at 3 am, and half a protein bar in the middle of the night when it doesn't work.
15 lbs total? Yikes. Ive gained 20lbs already and only 23 weeks. I have not gotten "fat" either its all fluid/belly!! What a shame you have that scrutiny. You know yourself best and I am sure you will be fine no matter what. We are all different for a reason. Don't let that get you down.
I haven't gained much weight, but sometimes I wonder if doctors forget that it's normal for pregnant women to gain a pound a week. Plus the fact that we're walking around with a watermelon strapped to our bellies, and our lungs work about as well as a goldfish out of the water. I don't know about you guys, but I eat what I crave, and when I crave it. Pregnancy is the only time where I'm allowed that. Might as well gain weight and take it easy now, because once our little ones are a bit older, we won't be getting any rest. And my sister gained 40 lbs during her pregnancy, and the doctor said she was only supposed to gain 25 lbs. A year later, she's lost that weight. I understand that doctors are trying to make our lives easier, but sometimes we just want to eat.
Its so awesome reading this! I have gained 20-25 lbs so far at 23 weeks...I have been stressing a bit over how much more I might gain, but this makes me feel much better!
I hadn't gained anything until I went to my 22 week checkup. It appears between 18-22 I gained 11 lbs. I'll be 26 weeks on Wednesday which is my next appointment. I'm sure with the multiple bbqs I've frequented this weekend it'll be up more!
I struggled with accepting my weight and body for years before getting to a point of acceptance and love for myself so I'm having a hard time watching the scale creep up towards the 160s (even tho I am well aware that its for an amazing blessing).
I'm just happy that this thread took off like it did. Seems to have helped put alot of this weight gain into perspective for some of us. @rholbrook7 I like your take in things!
So helpful to see where everyone else is at too!! I had gained VERY slowly in the beginning and haven't changed my eating habits tremendously- aside from eating an occasional candy bar that I wouldn't have eaten pre-pregnancy.... I had only gained about 5 lbs until this month when I put on 10 lbs!! 10 in a month seems like WAY TOO MUCH
I am 25 weeks and have gained about 20 pounds so far... The only place I have gained is in my belly and boobs (and I feel like they keep growing with my bump ?? ) I do have to start walking more -- mainly just to maintain stamina and my energy up but I am hoping it keeps me around the ideal 25-35 pound weight gain.. I didn't gain much in the beginning so the last time I went to the doctor they were shocked at the jump in weight gain I made but I am guessing now I need to slow it down a little before I keep gaining a couple pounds a week!
