Trouble TTC

I think it's time to join (loss mentioned)

After stalking around on TTC and "the dark" side, I feel myself outgrowing the TTC crowd and was wondering if you'll have me here.

DH and I have been trying for 14 months. I've been told since I was a child that due to my autoimmune conditions (Graves' disease, inflammatory bowel disease) and significant abdominal surgeries that getting pregnant would be next to impossible. I was open with DH who had a vasectomy reversal two years prior to our relationship and he was open to the idea of IVF or adoption (being child free is not an option for me personally). Flash forward to June when I got a BFP for the first time (we were trying in order to get the obligatory 12 months out of the way before seeing an RE). 9 weeks later I miscarried and found myself destroyed. Since then I've gone through 11 months of fertility focused trying (charting, opks, EOD sex, no alcohol, no caffeine, multivitamin etc).

I have read every journal article, book and Internet article I can about TTC with our challenges and I've lost the optimism I had after our miscarriage. I'm hoping I can join everyone on this journey and am open to both giving and relieving support. Sorry for the length !!!

Welcome and I am so sorry for your loss and also for the rough journey that you've had TTC.   I can completely relate to losing optimism after a mc, and I hope that you will feel hope again soon with a treatment plan.   I'm glad that you decided to join the group!  If you don't mind, I'll also add you to the 3T Weekly checkin.

Dont give up hope your story is very similar to mine. My husband had to have a vasectomy reversal (he had the vasectomy done after his 3rd child to his previous wife) it took us almost 2 years to get pregnant then I suffered a mc at 6 weeks. I was completely crushed and hardly could function. I started seeing a fertility specialist I had to do 5 rounds of clomid the 5th round I gave myself the HCG trigger shot and it was successful the first try with timed intercourse. Then I began progesterone suppositories until I reached my 2nd trimester. I hope you get your bfp soon, I know every month that goes by is just devastating. Goodluck to all you women most ppl dont understand the struggle and how mentally and physically draining this process is. All of you are so brave and strong.

Thank you so much for your kind words and support. I feel that how hopeful and optimistic I am depends on the day and how much emotional effort allow to confronting my irrational beliefs and fears. Would you recommend going to see an RE sooner (part of me wants to try for six months longer part of me wants to see an RE at the "year" mark- we already surpassed a year but the MC resets our year"

Thank you for the kind words. I believe it's a Buddist quote that says "in everything there is a blessing, it's up to you to find the blessing". My miscarriage was the most traumatic experience I've ever been through mainly because of my extreme desire to become a mother. Through all this my DH has confirmed over and over the reason I chose to marry him. He is my rock and my best friend
