My DD had reactions to the vaccines when they were given on the traditional schedule so we had to inject on a modified schedule but she still received each one. It's comforting to know that I am not only protecting my family but families of those who may rely on herd immunity.

I actually just had this convo with my hubby, that some folk don't realize the difference for app uses vs desktop users. Technology is a changin' folks!

Edit: I believe on the app the search function is at the very bottom of the community page and it says search 2015 October Mom's

So I took a screenshot of my app but idk how to UL it, but I don't see that option anywhere at the top or bottom. But my friend is due in Sept and I had her check and she doesn't see it either...not sure why.
Hmmmm.... iPhone or Android? I read on another thread that iPhone users are experiencing technical issues with the app. I have an Android phone cause iPhones are poopy doody phones! Let the android vs apple battle begin! No, but really, it could be your phone.

I Still don't see it on my phone (I can see on my hubbys iPhone though so we may be losing that iPhone android battle at the moment lol). I also sometimes can't see the reply, quote options etc, but I get an error on my app, but I'm not sure if the two are related or not.
Do you have the latest version of the app? It sounds like yours might just be glitchy, I would try deleting it and reinstalling.
I will have to try that!! It would be great if I didn't have to refresh a million times before being able to comment or share. Someone posted they were having the same issues a while back so I assumed the app just was having problems, never thought of the phone. Thanks!
Holy Creepy Coincidence Batman!!!! I'm not even making this up- My phone just updated the app! Just now! Like right now! The whole thing looks different! I didn't do anything... It just happened... So um, I really am not good at changing light bulbs and need Brad Pitt to appear and do it for me??? Or I'm really not good at winning a million dollars but would love to win the lottery right now???

Sorry, I can't talk to you about apps anymore. The people from other boards are upset that we are being "oblivious" during their fight about vaccines and religion.

In fact, they think that what we talk about over here is hilarious, in a we are idiots kind of way, and have a discussion going about how to reply back to comments they don't like on our board.

It's pretty awesome to have grown adults openly mocking you behind your back as a form of entertainment.
Oh my. I had no idea. I honestly try to ignore the negativity. I use to feed into it but now I do my own thing and enjoy the nice helpful people like yourself. How someone chooses to raise their child doesn't bother me. I'm sure every parent, parents in ways that others hate, so that subject doesn't interest me.
But you realize her decision can kill others, right? How can you possibly not allow that to bother you?
I'm well aware. However, I'm positive that she's not the first parent to make that decision and won't be the last. Additionally, if her kid was at your kids daycare or school, you would have no idea that her child wasn't vaccinated unless she told you. Her child, her choice, in my opinion.

Edit: I also doubt people attacking her and/or disagreeing with her will change her decision.
By the time I have children, I genuinely don't think it will be an issue.

No one is "attacking" her. They are disagreeing with her.

I love how you're trying to drag me into this. Like I said attacking or disagreement from strangers won't change her mind. I think it's her choice.

You commented, therefore dragging yourself into it. You commenting opens it up for others to give an opinion on what you said, which I did.

It's fine you think it's her choice. But I bet you'd have a change of heart if someone made that choice and it resulted in your child becoming sick.

I'm selfish and irresponsible? Oh. I've been called a lot of things but never that. I've read plenty from reputable sources and that's my decision. Some random nobody arguing it isn't going to change it.

Actually you asked me a question and I answered it (about how can it not bother me). I'm sure I might think differently if my child got sick, but any child could get sick with other things that vaccines don't protect from.

My point is, it's not going to kill anyone. But I have no qualms about taking a life if it comes down to mine or theirs and I'm being threatened. That being said, vaccines do not equal immunity. If any of YOU did research you'd understand that. Vaccines bypass the body's natural defenses and injects garbage directly into the blood stream. Immunity is natural...vaccines are not. I'm beating a dead horse at this point. My child, my choice.

My UO is that I can't stand the 'newborn in a sling' pictures that seem to be so popular right now. I just don't think they really look that cute or appealing, especially when there is one random limb hanging out...just weird.

Vaccines are intramuscular not intravenous which means they are not injected directly into the blood stream.

FYI - my daughter's former daycare and her pediatrician's office both require vaccinations. The daycare required the children to be fully vaccinated (based on age and vax schedule) prior to beginning and updated vaccination records every 6 months. I would recommend asking the vaccination policies so you do not need to worry about someone exposing your child unnecessarily at those locations.

Unfortunately everyone is allowed to go to the grocery store, library, playground.

Alright I don't want to get into this too much but @DeeGreer I understand why you think the way you do. It just took me a while to learn the difference between vaccines. To me, flu shots are exactly the garbage you're talking about. But the flu is rarely deadly and makes its rounds every year. Plus the damn thing mutates so fast, medical technology cannot keep up with a vaccine (realistically). BUT vaccines for polio and measles are super important. Those diseases are extremely deadly. Like Ebola x100 (don't take my word for that, I'm not a scientist).

I caught pertussis as an infant and almost died because the vaccine in the early 90's for it was rumored to cause autism. My mom (not knowing any better at 19) decided not to give it to me just in case. I technically have this "natural immunity " that you speak of. But seriously, it makes no difference because not very many babies will survive gaining "natural immunity", but hey, if you wanna force natural selection then go for it with your own kids. Just keep them away from mine.

You like this sight, then? This is what polio looks like. Children and adults alike in an iron lung machine. Most either died or were damaged for life. A simple vaccine could prevent this from happening to anyone ever again.

Wow came back to 100 comments since earlier. I tried to read most of it but honestly got bored.

About the vaccination UO, if it's such a concern are you going to ask every mother at the park or at your child's school if their child is vaccinated? If you ran into @DeeGreer in public is she obligated to tell you she didn't get her kids vaccinated? No. Will you ever be able to tell the difference? No. There is a risk in every aspect in life. I don't see why people are getting so offended when I'm sure most of us have came in contact with someone that has not been vaccinated in one point of our lives. Just saying.

Also I do agree about the search button but I'm not going to tell someone how their app works on their phone. After all there are hundreds of different kinds of phones and I'm sure not all of our apps work/look the same.

Hope everyone has a great night & doesn't get too worked up over all of this nonsense this thread has.

No one is going to convince @DeeGreer that she is making a poor choice for her child, as well as public health. You can't argue with ignorance. Science is all just hocus pocus and the studies that should speak for themselves must be above many peoples' heads, I suppose. My grandmother died of polio shortly before the vaccine was created, but the unvaccinated are untouchable right?

You know it's extremely irresponsible to not get a flu shot when pregnant right? Teratogens. I suggest you look those up.
