My symptoms..... Really trying hard to stay positive and I've been getting out and going on walks but depression and preg hormones are kicking my butt. Headaches...... Been up all night with one! Rib pain. Ice and heat are doing absolutely nothing.
I know it's not his fault but when I'm so miserable and DH is sleeping so soundly next to me I kind of want to punch him lol ..... Oops. I don't actually do it. I just want to! 5 weeks seems so unbearable and I am so sick of ppl saying, " but your ALMOST done!" I want to say to those ppl .. " but your ALMOST comforting, thanks!"
I would also like to add that my problems are pudd compared to some ladies on here! So....... Trying to stay positive.... It's becoming hard!!!!!!!! All of those with insomnia...... I'm always free to participate in fun threads at 330 am! Bring it on.
@klkonwi I also feel like punch my hubs in the face who is snoring right next to me as I've been awake since 430 when he accidentally stabbed me with his big toenail!!! I feel wide awake now and I have my shower today so I will prob look like poo!
I had lots of weird dreams last night all baby related!
So much acne right now! I usually don't get it but my face is breaking out like crazy right now. I'm attributing it to a hormone surge - maybe labor is coming soon? As you all know I'm hoping she's late for the sake of my classes, but I really can't wait to meet baby girl so if she comes early that would be exciting too
Also, I'm like 99% sure that she's sunny side up - I only ever feel movement in the front and she really hasn't changed position in at least a month. I've been looking at the suggestions from spinning babies, but if you don't mind saying a few prayers for us that she turns around before delivery I'd appreciate it! My hospital has a crazy high c section rate (40%+) and at our prenatal class the nurse made it sound like babies who aren't facing the right way are automatic c sections. I'll do whatever's necessary for a healthy baby... but a vaginal delivery would definitely be preferred.
@karaelaine1991 40%!!!!! Yikes. Are your doctors really super impatient or what? I've seen many a baby pushed out sunny side up. Takes more time and effort while pushing but it does get done. keep the faith and usually babies turn at the last minute while pushing ! Once again a disclaimer we only do 6-7 deliveries a day.
Thanks @klkonwi! I think part of it is just the clientele, my OB said that there are more elective c sections there than usual (didn't get into how many there are, though). But when the nurse was talking about them, she made it sound like if babies are in anything less than the ideal birthing position/situation, it's an automatic c section. She didn't present things as "you may get a c section in this scenario," it was "if this happens, you're getting a c section." However, this is the same nurse who said that if you're 1-3 cm dilated, you will have a baby within 24 hours... so maybe she just sucks at communicating effectively? Haha
I plan to ask my OB for more clarification on this next week - totally forgot to this week. But hopefully she'll give me more reassuring news!
@Cuij yeah, when she said that, I was like, "I KNOW that's not true!" So hopefully the same will happen with the c section policies. She's got me worried!
I have an ultrasound booked for next Thursday to check size and position of baby girl (I'm hoping for a VBAC and I have GD). At my app on Friday my OB thinks baby is still breech I know there's a chance she's wrong, or that we will be able to turn her but I'm feeling more than a little bummed about the prospect of not getting to try a VBAC.
I've also been having a lot of anxiety about a repeat c, not about the surgery itself but since I have a 2 year old already, who's still in a crib. How will I put him down for naps if I can't lift him...
Oh the things pregnant ladies fret about... Humph.
I had such bad acid reflux last night I ended up in tears, trying to get myself to vomit. Poor DH had no idea what to do to help because he really couldn't. It's a new symptom, we were both freaked out. And I was sooooo tired the fact I couldn't lay down to sleep led to more crying. Ugh 3 more weeks!
I'm also worried baby flipped over or switched sides. I feel movement in different places than I did all along. I'll have to ask at my next appt. She's now kicking my ribs and so it hurts to exhale.
I was pretty hormonal last night, hubby took me out for dinner and I was in tears because I was feeling like he didn't talk to me enough earlier in the day Lol poor guy can't win
Couldn't sleep last night. Finally did and I had to wake DH up when the dog came in to be fed/go out. Three times. He just yells at him from the bed while I get up to make him go away (it was 4am and our dog thinks he rules the roost, don't worry not neglecting him).
Then he woke me up to tell me the groceries don't fit and he needs help rearranging/throwing food from the freezer out. ALL OF THIS while asking what time we are going to "start our day". I have to work tomorrow night and go straight to a family members funeral without sleeping so sleep is incredibly precious right now....
Basically the quickest way to ruin my day/turn me into a monster is to mess with my sleep and he has done that every hour since 4am. Should be fun when the baby's crying and I have to wake him to tell him to go get it...
Tl;dr IM TIRED AND GRUMPY AND ITS DH'S FAULT BUT NOT REALLY I JUST NEED SOMEONE TO BLAME
TTC: 1/2014
BFP: 9/24
EDD: 6/8/2015
Sorry for the poor man's siggy...ticker won't load regardless of how many tips I read.
I think I'm having mild contractions. They start in my lower back and wrap around the front where my stomach gets hard - however, the only place that actually hurts is my back. FTM so I have no clue what they are haha. Baby is still inside so I'm going to consider them Braxton Hicks.
Still having a lot of back pain and rib pain. I think third trimester symptoms are finally hitting me hard. I can't even sneeze or burp because of the rib pain and my inhale is not at its maximum capability. I feel bad for DH because I am complaining a lot right now. I've tried a warm bath, changing positions, a tennis ball massage to the area, but the most effective thing has been Tylenol. I try to wait until I'm in tears because the pain is unbearable before taking it. I really try to avoid medications when possible. Any other suggestions?
@klkonwi So sorry you're having a tough time right now. You are doing all of the things I'd suggest, so I don't really have any advice but wanted you to know you aren't alone. As for sleeping husbands, I've literally kicked mine out of bed in a jealous, pregnant rage for sleeping when I couldn't about a month ago. I totally understand wanting to punch him. Also, hope the headache fades quickly. I hate them!
As for my symptoms, I also have had a headache all night and this morning and nothing is helping. My usual lower back and hip pain hasn't eased up a bit either. 5 more weeks seems so close, yet so far away. . . And the anxiety of a possible c-section isn't helping a bit.
This morning nausea is really starting to get old...I feel like I already did my time with that particular symptom and then some and I ought to be free of it by now...I also have terrible, painful gas that is not helping this whole feeling like I'm going to toss my cookies at any minute thing. They cherry on top of the cow pie? All of my joints and back hurt like a SOB and I need to clean my house (most likely with no assistance) today because my baby shower is tomorrow and on Monday there's a high chance that they are going to send me to L&D so I have a lot to do and I'm cutting it close and if I survive this day, it will be nothing short of a miracle...I'm being dramatic, but ya know...stress, lots to do, hormones.

Yesterday someone on the bump had shared a link to a helpful website that had some tips on how to manage back labour. It recommended staying off your back or reclining, moving as much as possible (walking, swaying, etc.) and to try being on your hands and knees. The idea, if I understood correctly, is to give the baby an opportunity to reposition himself better for delivery. I also heard in my prenatal class that back labour is more common in Western Cultures because in other parts of the world woman are more active and participating in tasks that require more movement, etc. so babies generally are able to wiggle more easily into the correct position before delivery.
If I suspected I might be likely to experience back labour, and was feeling well enough, I think I would try to do a few things around the house that would have me bent over my knees (I remember hearing washing the floor or cleaning out cupboards would have you in the right position) or spend some time on a yoga ball. This would be with the hopes that my little 'at home attempts' could possible get the baby moving easier to reposition himself on his own. Just a thought!
So symptoms that are new to me are huge MP came out last night. NO PICS! But I am feeling very very tired and cramps are constant but mostly gas. Wow pregnancy is so glamorous. I'm thinking of taking a warm Epsom salt bath here in a bit. Maybe that will help. I also splurged at the drugstore and bought a cucumber face mask in those little trial pouches. Watch out big spender over here! My body is just so sore. June 1st EDD.
@esampson1983 I wish I could take all the rib pain away! As I said in my post (I think) I've done heat and Ice to my right rib cage and it does nothing. Silly kids...... I told my husband that there is a rodeo in Lincoln ne tonight and we should drop the baby off there..... Where he belongs as a bronc rider lol (only kidding)
I'm also so sorry to all the insomniacs and @ngaines27 for these damn headaches.
If stress induced labor is a thing, I'm about there. I could lose my mind right now. Our kitties were almost four weeks and no where near ready to be alone. My MIL decided they needed to stay outside...alone...in the rain...in a box. they're gone!!!!! They have been and were meant to be inside cats! All four babies are just gone. We have frantically looked for hours and there's no sign of them. Even mama cat can't find them. I probably look like a dork walking around crying and today's my baby shower. Worst day ever. IDK if I'm overreacting because of hormones or what but I just can't hold it in. (
Fatigue hunger its a never ending cycle. I need to clean but I just want to eat and sleep. I still have a million things to get in order but don't feel like it. 34w6d.
@devyns2nd I hope you find the kittens soon and your MIL is a total b for doing that. You should stick her outside in a box in the rain and see if she likes it. Oh and lock the door so she can't come back in.
So DH and I have had an off couple of days. We hardly ever fight but we've been bickering and kinda avoiding each other since Wednesday, other than the hey I'm leaving for work, love you, and a quick kiss (thanks hormones). So last night he came home from work, we had a family game night, then he broke out the candles and guitar to get his romance on and played guitar and sang for me while we sat outside on our porch. Then we had some "sexy time" cause he said he wanted to make me feel beautiful cause he knows I don't feel that way right now. (I found a keeper guys :x ) so on to the symptoms part....other than the mild cramping after sex, I slept AMAZING!!!! I feel so rested and energized and I think LO does too cause she's been dancing around in there all morning. Feel so much better than I have all week:) thoughts to all the mamas not feeling well! It'll all be worth it soon!!!
@devyns2nd oh no! They can't have gone far. I'm sure with all your critters and experience with little baby critters you know where to look, but they can't have gone far. I hope they show up soon!
Also super jealous of my hubs who falls asleep and stays asleep so easily. I fell asleep on the couch last night and he woke me up to go up to actual bed, where I laid awake for an hour. I'm considering telling him to next time just leave me there until I wake on my own then I can climb my way up. But the reverse is that he wants to help me up from the couch, and he wants me to be more comfortable in the bed, so his heart is in the right place and I've been able to avoid lashing out at him after he falls asleep. Otherwise, back ache, neck ache, hips hurt... All related to not being able to sleep well. So, tired. Acid reflux, when I wake up to go pee I always end up letting out a huge belch, I've stopped trying to be quiet about it. Really weird dreams last night.
@karaelaine1991 hope your baby spins around! @klkonwi I love this "but your ALMOST comforting, thanks!" Lol
Back pain just started. And I'm having a love-hate relationship with food. Nesting like crazy, probably why my back is aching. C-section scheduled Wednesday so almost there!
My boobs are extremely sore! Can't sleep comfortable I'll be so relieved to have lo so I can heal and go back to sleeping on my tummy. They say heartburn means baby will have hair well he must be coming out looking like Chewbacca because my first come out with head full of hair and I had 0 heartburn with her lol.
Last night I was having consistent contractions that where 3-4 minutes apart for over two hours but they weren't very bad, more painful than Braxton hicks but less painful then my active labor contractions that I had with my first so I stayed home and relaxed and they gradually died off. Then about an hour later, they started up again, very consistent at 3-4 minutes apart again but stonger this time and they lasted about an hour and a half and made me throw up my dinner (mini tacos were a bad idea!) But then gradually died down again. I got a little sleep and then two hours later, woke up to the same thing. Seems to happen every few hours, but then fades away after an hour or two. I'm not quite sure when I should go into l&d because with my first, my water broke before I had any labor contractions and once that broke, there was no questioning if I was in labor or not and very intense contractions started immediately after. So idk how long or how bad I should let my contractions get before going in. I've been trying to hold off until I know for sure but idk if less intense contractions are common for the beginning of labor and if I should just go get checked or wait it out.
@coreysibs I would say go in when the contractions do not go away. It could be early labor right now. If you called l & d that's what they would tell you. Go in when the contractions don't stop and are so painful that your having trouble walking and talking through them. But please don't follow this advice if you feel something is not right or if it's more than your 1st or 2nd child. Those labors with 2,3,4,5 kids can go fast!
First timer over here. I had my 37 week appointment yesterday and was dilated to a 2 and was a little over 50% effaced. I lost my mucus plug this morning. I think I've felt a few contractions but have absolutely no idea what to expect when they really start. Baby girl is still moving all over the place like she has been the entire pregnancy. But occasionally while she's moving it's getting pretty painful - it's feeling like she's moving in every direction at once. We've been able to see her moving for quite a while now, but this has been huge movements and my entire abdomen feels very right when it happens. Could this be a sign of early contractions or am I reading too much into it? Thanks for the help!

Symptom for today - hot flashes, really bad hot flashes!
And not a symptom but worth mentioning I just discovered my bump can now be used as a food table. Awesome!
Hopefully mama cat can find them soon. Keep us posted.
