so one of my cultures came back positive for some sort of yeast a week or so back. Doc called in rx medicine called terazol. Supposed to do it for 7 days.
After three days (yesterday) all of a sudden I was seeing a lot of bright red blood when I go to the bathroom!
Called the doc and they had me come in immediately last night at 6pm for an ultrasound and exam. I am 12w6d.
Hubby was on train, so I took my two toddlers with me

Turns out baby girl is still great, cervix is still closed, her heart rate is fine and there is no bleeding in the uterus - but after an external exam, apparently the outside of my cervix is covered in bloody blisters?! Whoa! Midwife said to stop the medication because sometimes they see this reaction. Now I need a rhogam shot at the hospital today because I have AB- blood.
Glad it's nothing. So thankful it's minor. But why would you prescribe a medicine that can possibly make your pregnant patient bleed?
Anyone else have a similar experience with this or other insertable meds? Or is my cervix unique....
Re: Terazol and bleeding?
She also said as there was no uterine bleeding I didnt need the rhogam shot like the midwife had told me.
Things are much better tonight
