I know that only ~12% of people have their water break before labor starts. But I'm a bit worried I won't know when labor actually starts...since I've apparently been having real contractions with cervical change for ~2 weeks. Anyway my question: will it be a lot? Will it ruin my mattress/couch/etc? I guess I'm just paranoid bc I'm sleeping in a call room at work and that would be mortifying.
Re: Stupid question about water breaking.
2nd round exp 8/20/18.
This is a really good point. I didn't need it for my water breaking.. But I did for breastmilk leaking and blow outs!
I think I'm just gonna live on the wild side and gamble....I didn't go into labor naturally with DD, and when they did break my water finally at the hospital, there was almost nothing. I then had to be pumped with fluids during labor, so then when she came out, it was like a firehouse after her!
My friend threw on a depends and just kept cleaning up the house and labored at home until she was ready to
Transition to hospital.
All that being said, I'll still be risking it. What are the odds of it happenig again? Haha
I really enjoy reading other people's experiences
Also @amaleea what does it mean if there is blood in your amniotic fluid? Just curious after reading your post.
These apps should just say...... You'll only know your in labor when the pain is so terrible you want to die"
My water broke when I went to the bathroom, though. One gush on the toilet, then intense contractions and Niagara Falls within 5 mins and the whole way to the hospital. I also wish we'd kept at least a towel in the car. It wouldn't have caught everything, but it would've helped.
I didn't know what happened at the time. It was clear so I didn't see anything weird in the toilet, but it seemed almost slimy when I wiped. 5 minutes later I couldn't walk or talk through the contractions. My labor went from 0 to 10 really quickly. He was at a rim within 20 mins.
