Trying to Get Pregnant

TTC baby #3 - how long did you wait?

I can't help it...I think I want another and we're not on the youthful end of the TTC scale.  How close will your #2 and #3 be?

Re: TTC baby #3 - how long did you wait?

  • I'm still hoping for #1, as are many of the women on this board.

  • How old are you if you don't mind?  Also do you already have two, just wondering becuase you only have the one ticker.

I'm trying for my #1 but have already thought my #2 probably wouldn't be far behind if I can help it.  Heck if I could fit 3 in before 35 I think I'm up for the challenge but that means things need to get moving (hear that body!!!)  I'm going to be 30 in September.

  • I am still working on #2 but I think it will depend on how well we do with 2. I would like to have them close together. We started trying for #2 when DS was 7.5 months and I am glad we did because it has been 5 months now and still no BFP.

  • Ummm I am trying for number 2, (who will hopefully be a 1 1/2 apart) but many of the ladies are trying for number 1. But no one has the same situation as you and you have to do what is right for you, regardless of what others are doing.

  • #1 was 7 when #2 was born. And right now #2 is 7 so hopefully we'll continue the pattern with #3.
  • I only want one child...still working on that one!

  • I think if I EVER get KU with #2 I will try for #3 naturally after LO is about a year.

  • Working on #1 but I would like #2 and #3 (if we get there) to be about 1 1/2 years apart. That would be the ideal for me.

  • 16months if this cycle is a success. Because of my history we are not wasting any time.

  • We are working on #2 & hoping for a spacing around 3 years.  It took us over a year with #1 so I'm anticipating that it could be a little longer & possibly closer to 4, but that's okay with us.  If we have a 3rd, we would probably shoot for a 3 year gap again.

DH is 39 and I'm 33.  #1 took well over a year to conceive, #2 took a month so I understand the  challenges of TTC and wish you ladies all the best of luck!
ETA: DS is 3 1/2 years old...poor buddy needs a ticker too!

  • We want all our kids (dh wants 4-6!!) to be close in age. Also seeing as #1 took us almost a year with PCOS, #2 looks like we were lucky and took 1 cycle after weaning (got bfp tonight), #3 we'll have to see how many marbles I have left before we start trying again, but I'm guessing it will be before #2 is a year old.

  • I wanted to wait longer to TTC #3 than we did with #2.  DD and DS are 23 months apart, and it was a LOT of work to have a 2 year old and a newborn, and I just didn't want to do it again.  Things just seem to get so much easier when they turn 3, so I kept putting off TTC so DS would be older when # 3 came along.  Plus, I didn't wean DS until he was 17 months, and I wanted a few months of having my body to myself after being either pregnant or nursing for four years straight.

If I get pregnant this cycle, there will be 3 years between #2 and #3, which sounds great to me!

  • I hope none of above comments were meant to be snarky. But anyways, we started trying for #2 when #1 was 4 months old but still no bfp. Number one took one cycle so we were spoiled. We will probably start right away again after 2.

  • We only have one son right now, but the plan is to have #2, wait about 9 months to a year to start TTC bc my OB doesn't want me to get KU within a year of having a baby for health reasons. So hopefully we will have a 6ish year old, an about 2 year old, and a baby.

  • Well I am also trying for #3. My #2 just turned 2 in June, so there will be a few years between mine. But if you have the itch i say go for it! Lots of moms I know love having their LO's close in age...good luck ;-)
