Ugh, no. I bought him 2 and made sure that they were humorous so he wouldn't be bored and he picked one up for about 5 minutes and hasn't looked at it again.

We got a book together when we got the bfp. It has a section of, oh, about 4 pages for dads-to-be. But, DH is in medical school and he did women's health in December. I guess you could say he's read a little more into it than even I have!

He is reading The Expectant Father book. Every night before bed he's been reading a little. He doesnt have any little kids in his family (only mine) and hasnt had much expierience with them and wants to get as many tips as possible. (thats what he said)

Oy! I've been trying to get MH to read! he isnt much of a reader. I got him The Expectant Father for Christmas... I need to dig it out and put it @ the bedside so he remembers to read it. (It would be a good idea for us to stop falling asleep on the couch watching LOST dvd's as well... )

i wish mine would read a book about whats going on I havent really asked him but I would just figure he would want to. My best friend has two kids and I think we will probably hang out more because before she was busy with her kids and i work full time so with me having a child im only going to be working very part time like 2 days a week that Hubby would be home to watch baby. so I will have more time to visit her and such

Haha...no. My BIL bought him one...and he started reading it and said it sucked so he stopped. I can't give him a hard time though...I'm not reading much either!

Well both my husband and I have blue eyes so I think the baby will have blue eyes!

W: Do your friends have kids? How do you think having this baby will change your friendships?

I have a few with kids and they are really exicted that I will have a baby because it makes something more common with each other now.

DH is very slowly reading My Boys can swim and he also has your pregnancy for the the father to be, but at the rate he's going our baby will be a teenager before he finishes both of them!

When we first found out we were expecting, I went and bought a few pregnancy books. DH thought I was nuts... Well come our first dr appt the dr and nurse recommended WTEWYE which I had already bought and was reading... it suddenly dissapeared and I found it in the bathroom with DH's magazines. So I am assuming he is at least trying to make some sense of it! HAHA

For Christmas I bought the hubs "What to Expect When Your Wife is Expanding." It's a hilarious, and pretty spot on, depiction of everything HE will go through while dealing with everything I am going through. He's been reading it every night during commercials while we watch TV, and he's constantly laughing and reading me portions. It's really a great book if you're not one of those "I take myself too seriously" kind of women.

Morning!

QOTD: No, he had a lot of practice the 1st time around. Our dd had colic for a miserable 6 months, so we feel like we can handle anything with #2!

Update: We had our NT scan yesterday and everything looks great! The tech felt "99% positive" that it's a BOY! My h and I are so excited.and can't wait for the confirmation in 3 weeks, but after seeing the "money shot" and being able to compare it to our dd's u'/s, we feel pretty certain that the tech was right. !

DH is reading the expectant father and he said its pretty good. he actually finished it and says he "has a handle" on the whole pregnancy thing but he's worried about bringing the baby home so he ordered some new parents books...too cute

He is reading Week by Week with me (or before me if he can sneak it away and tell me what will be happening next) and my Mom got his "The Caveman's Guide to Pregnancy" which is really funny.

He's not a "reader", so I won't even ask. But he is very open to learning...so whenever I learn something new we talk about it. He also goes to my dr appts with me so if he has questions, he can ask. He's been great so far though!

Th: Is DH/SO reading any books in preparation? nope. i couldn't get him involved w/ our 1st pregnancy so this one will probably be no different.

well i had my 1st pg. appt. today and it went ok. they didn't even attempt to listen for the HB which stunk. and i'm still waiting on my results from the GD test. they are testing me early since i had GD the first time around.

looks like i'm going to stay part of the july mommies group since she didn't really say one way or the other about my due date either july 31st or aug. 5th so since i'd really like a july baby i'm going to stay here. Wink

DH is reading this book, She's Having a Baby and I'm Having a Breakdown. My mother gave it to him for christmas. It's basically a book about preganancy written from the male perspective, addressing their fears and explains in their terms what we feel like. I've scanned it a couple of times when he's left it lying around and it's really quite funny and accurate. And he's quoted it a lot on things that he wanted to do or helped me do. I'm thankful he's read it. Plus it is a quick read so it's not too overwhelming. I highly recommend it.
