No, he just asks me. He is very interested in the info, but just not enough to read about it. I probably wouldn't read about if it wasn't happening to me either!
W: Do your friends have kids? How do you think having this baby will change your friendships? Sadly, I moved from Texas to Cali in August, so most of my friends are far away. A lot of them have children, though. I don't think it will change our friendship at all.
Th: Is DH/SO reading any books in preparation? Nope, this is his second time around (He has a 4-year-old son.) so he's been through all this before.
DH reads everything [articles/websites/ pamphlets/books] that he can get his hands on.... which is also the problem!!!! one day he'll have me eating walnuts... the next day he'll read something contradicting the "walnut" article.. just when i start craving them!! ugh!!! his topic this week is dairy products...and drinking milk.... which is not an option for me....
i try to eat yogurt and cheese.. to make up for the lack of calcium... but DH is freaking out... because he read somewhere that blah blah blah...lol. love him, and can't live without him.. but he stresses me and the baby out! lol.
We haven't bought any books specifically for expectant fathers, but he has been flipping through the ones I have. He started reading Belly Laughs and I took it away from him because he happened to open right up to the chapter on vaginal discharge and was getting grossed out. I didn't want him to become completely turned off by what's in the book and how blunt Jenny McCarthy is, so I told him it is "off limits."
He also reads the weekly updates I get via email. I will probably look at getting him at least one or two books for fathers, but he is working on his MBA and does not have a lot of time for extra reading!!!
Yes, DH read the book I got him and I apologized because I didn't realize how crappy it was. It's The Expecting Father or something. I thought it would be good but it's just really whiny.
Forgot to say in my post...I told DH last night, "I am definitely getting a GOOD breast pump" and he asked... "What the heck is that? Won't the baby suck hard enough?" It was funny...DH NEEDS to read some books...LOL
DH read "What to Expect When your Wife is Expanding". He thought it was so funny that he read the entire thing in a few days! (Instead of going month by month)

W: Do your friends have kids? How do you think having this baby will change your friendships?
My work friends are mostly older and have kids. My BFF recently had a daughter. However with my "other set of friends" (from college), I'll be the first one to have a child which will change some things. It will limit my trips to visit them!
Th: Is DH/SO reading any books in preparation?
No, not yet. I was thinking of getting him one that is simple. He does listen when I read him excerpts from the ones that I have.

DS -- 3YO
Awww, thanks! My mom took it yesterday - DS was having so much fun making faces at her through the window. I laughed so hard my stomach hurt!
Mama Jan's Kitchen... a food blog
DH has read bits and pieces of my pregnancy books, usually about our baby's development week by week.
P.S.
Mama Jan, your DS looks so cute in your new siggy pic!
My EDD was changed to July 8th btw.
Can I jump on the list please?
Erin, 28, EDD July 21
ETA: Surprise baby! Don't think we'll find out.
Thanks!
Oh, and no books for DH. He just asks how big the baby is once in a while.
