"There's an AMAZING thread discussion you'll want to read!" <-- I wish it could find a way to set this kind of notification.

If anyone makes it past the first 7 catfish pages, can you tell me how to story plays out?

totally a catfish they found the poor girl she stole photos from and claimed they were her I was on page 12 and the catfish had been banned and maybe IP blocked and they were trying to find who she stole the baby photos from and all freaking out over internet safety

Nice! Thanks, @hatchback4g. I was wondering how it would go. When I left off on page 7, Catfish's defenders were making valid points about her legitimacy. It looked like t could swing either way at that point. Kudos for making it to page 12!

I started spot reading in the 15's, 19's and so on and conversation went back to normal.

Side note: it's a small bummer when I see my misspellings and typos quoted before I fix them. I'm on the "who cares" side of life but as we see from the Grammar, Please! post, there are a lot of feisty grammar noodling preggos...

  • @barrelocarol Personally unless it's unreadably bad I usually don't notice or care much, although every time I hear or see "I seen" I cringe. My cousin is the absolute worst about that and I correct her all the time, lol. For the most part though between being busy, autocorrect and tiny screens I find most mistakes forgivable.

  • @hatchback4g I agree. Unless it's an actual grammar mistake...I just don't care. I chalk most up to auto correct. The Bump auto corrects in the worst fashion I've ever seen! Words that aren't even real pop up.
  • So, every time I get a little weepy or upset about something I see here (mainly, someone who is cutely pregnant rather than beer belly bumpy like me) I complain to my husband. His response: Um, how do you even know hear women are real? Or are really pregnant? Or that they're not men?!

OMG, if some of you pregnant women are men, that would be freaky!

I remember when I was 16 I went into a chat room and talked to a guy who described himself as tall and tan. After talking to him a few times I decided to open my webcam so we could see each other...well he was a man, but he was a short Indian man (from India), dark as night, not just tan! Haha. I asked him why he said he was just tan, and he said girls wouldn't chat with him when they found out he was Indian!!! Still makes me laugh: 'Tall and tan' my a$$!! Oh the joys of the internet!

  • ^^ @mrscaterosales Did I post this somewhere? Cool story but I didn't write it...I think? :-/
  • I think it's hard not to say something when you feel very strongly about a subject. It can feel like a moral obligation. That said, for the most part I just don't comment if I disagree with something because this isn't a place where you can have a real conversation with someone and see it through properly. And I think for the most part this is a great group of ladies who do the same.
  • That posted kinda funky but the tall and tan post was mine and the previoquote was mine hahs

    ^^ @mrscaterosales Did I post this somewhere? Cool story but I didn't write it...I think? :-/

I believe your hubby mentioned that some of these people on the Bump might not even be pregnant (or women) and then I told the story about the "tall, tan" guy haha. The quote just posted funky
  • @mybabynumber2 Ah, yes, ok. That makes sense. Can't wait to hear his response when I regale him with the Catfish story.

@Rhill30 I agree! All of these posts are running together and it makes me laugh a bit.
  • I've seen some serious bitches on this board. I see it some on the Babycenter app but not nearly as much.
  • @barrelocarol I read the whole thread :\"> (don't judge me!). Basically, they called her out for catfishing and she never returned. They did however figure out who the pictures were of, and they told her that someone hijacked her identity. And one of their regulars said she had texted with the catfish for a couple hours and got the whole story. Apparently she is just a young, unstable woman who catfishes all around the internet. And runs a FB support group for catfish? I dunno, it all got weeeird. Makes me worry that there could be a catfish among us /:)
  • @sugarmagn0lia That's awesome!!!!

I would have thought a Catfish wouldn't start texting and befriending people, but what do I know? Every time I watch something with my husband, I try to guess the plot and I get it very wrong.

So a catfish running a catfish support group.... :-/
