  • Wow. I've had a few non BH contractions lately. Not fun. Also does anyone else just have an achy vag area in general? Also not fun.

@ngaines27 sorry to hear about your headache - I hate headaches! So terrible! Hope it goes away soon!

Doc basically told me to suck it up with regards to the cold. Well, not really, but he said that there is a cruddy cold going around, and even in non-pregger people its a real hanger-on (weeks). He gave the OK to double my benadryl (it seems to be most helpful for the nasal drip), and went back over the meds its safe for me to take, and told me that if I hadn't improved some more by middle of next week to call them. Apparently the textbook for this bug is just like I have described... Really crappy for a couple of days to a week (last Thursday to this Wednesday) then better than before, but not *better*, for a couple of days to a week (this Wednesday thru now into next week), then again incrementally better... You get me. So, basically - suck it up. :-@

ETA good news is I'm pretty much done working, so I will be able to rest. Oh, and also apparently my pulse was really fast last week (140) and 'normal fast' today (94) so next time I go in I have to have them check it again

With your pulse being fast did they ask you about medications? When I took Sudafed I had to stop right away because it made my pulse race and my blood pressure increase (and it's been normal so far, knock on wood!). I asked the physician's assistant about this and she said it was common and that if she notices an increase in blood pressure and pulse her first question is usually if a medication like Sudafed has been taken.

ETA: I hope you feel better soon! I was in the same boat as you last week and it's not fun at all!

  • Still having nausea & having to take half a zofran most days. I still get sick but it's different than before. I'll throw up just a bit, still feel totally full (like the food is all the way up my throat) & nauseous so I don't get much relief even when I do throw up. I know I have some weird GI issues due to my autoimmune disease (chronic GERD that does not respond well to meds even rx, plus a lower esophageal sphincter that doesn't close all the way, found out from an endoscopy years ago). I'm wondering if the baby is just pushing all the good & acid up even more. I should probably try eating smaller amounts which I do sometimes but other times I'm just so damn hungry. I can't let my stomach really get empty either bc it makes the nausea worse. Is anyone else hanging this particular problem? Just wanted to whine about it. I got lots of other symptoms, this hadn't been an easy pregnancy but I'm managing!
  • Having a really rough night. I've had menstrual-like cramps all day, back pain, and now I feel like my whole abdomen is rock hard and won't stop. I wouldn't call it painful, but they are so uncomfortable I feel like crying. It's takes my breath away. I'm thinking baby might just be pushing on my stomach. My husband is sympathetic, but really has no idea what I'm feeling. Baby is kicking away though, which is really nice after she was quiet for the past couple of days. Can I be done yet?

  • @esampson1983 they did tell me that sudafed can race your pulse, but I hadn't started it at the time my pulse was so fast, and I hadn't taken any for 2 days when I went back yesterday and got the 'high but just barely within normal range' (which was also when I learned sudafed can increase your pulse - would have been nice to be told that when it was 140 and I went home and took some that very day). Hubs is now a little paranoid about it and took it again today, and was still fast and hovered on either side of 100. BP is fine, so who knows. Maybe it is solely due my illness?

    Thanks for asking, tho!
