I pretty much hate all girl names. If we have a girl she will have a boy name. Charlee is adorable. Also love Austin or Blake for a girl. Mainly bc I love Blake Lively, she's beyond beautiful!
@shianenicole I think Blake is cute. I've also heard/seen it as Blakely, which is cute too, and just adds a tiny feminine touch. I liked that but my Hubby doesn't like it. So I guess for us it's a no go.
I really want something different because my name is Tayla, which is not very common at all. And I love it. So I definitely would like both my kids, whether it's a girl or a boy, to have something less common.
I was thinking ahead to the professional world, but I realize several girls are now being names Charlie. I think in 20 + years when someone sees the name on a resume they won't automatically assume it's necessarily a man. Just seems how names are going. Also, that's why we want to spell it Charlee...instead of Charlie. A little more unique and feminine imo. Plus, dad's middle name is Lee
We've had names picked out for the last 5 years... Lux Ella is my all time favorite. I've also started to look at my great ancestors and I've seen some unique names. Exoria Elisabet Apolline Herminie (no joke it was my second great grand uncles wife)
My name is Cherish so I only feel like my daughters name should be unique too.
Isn't Lux Ella the name of a color lipstick or something?
My biggest thing is always popularity. I never my my kids to be one of 4 in their class with the same name! We check out the social security website to see how common names are. Also I've never wanted something weird for the sake of weird and always wanted names to have meaning to them. I've heard the new name list is coming out on mother's day on the SS website. Might be worth taking a look at...
Evageline is on our list. How would you pronounce it? E-van-gel-een or E-van-gel-ein (like wine)? DH and I can't agree.
I always thought it was ee-VAN-juh-line based on the poem from by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. However, in the disney movie, the princess and the frog, it is pronounced ee-VAN-juh-leen. Unfortunately, when you search for the "correct pronunciation," there are many ways to pronounce it that are acceptable. You can choose one you both agree on but inevitably someone along the way will pronounce it differently.
In addition to the two above... ee-VAN-juh-lin uh-VAN-juh-leen uh-VAN-juh-line uh-VAN-juh-lin.

This exactly! I hated the whole there being a million people with my name thing as a Katie. I've been wondering about finding a list of most popular names so that I can avoid them. I've pulled up the social security site and it's great. I look forward to the new list!
DH and I have decided not to seriously discuss any until we know the sex of the baby, so just brainstorming on my own for now. However, DD says we have to name the baby "Tarzan" regardless of boy/girl status. So, there's that.

Not sure if it's a lipstick color but if it is at least she'll be fabulous!!!
My soon to be husband is all about "Summer Belle" right now. His last name is Shelton and I love the alliteration, so I might go for it! I think it's pretty cute
Charlee by itself is cute ! I don't see why not , i think it's always easier when names don't have to be shortened for what you want to actually be called
