  • DH and I are staying with my mom until we move in July, and every single morning after I wake up my mom says "WOW baby looks big today!"....thanks mom. That's exactly what I want to hear every morning after struggling to sleep through the night.
  • If I hear one more mutherfucking "just you wait" I'm going to lose my damn mind. I cannot stand it. Why are you threatening me?!

This! A coworker yesterday said, "wow, look at that!" Then she patted my belly. Seriously. How is that ok? Plus look at what. My pregnant belly? Have you never seen a pregnant person before?
  • @hoodoll82 my sister wanted to play the toilet paper game guessing how big my belly was..... I shut that down real quick as well!!!!!!!
  • I've had similar experiences! People making statements about how I'm just about to "pop" or assuming I'm right about to have the baby. Making comments on how big I am. I keep having to correct them and say, "Not until June!" It always makes me feel worried, like I'm way bigger than I'm supposed to be.
  • My mom too! She always feels the need to tell me (every time she sees me, without fail) "YOU'RE HUGE!!!!" She even says it when I see her consecutive days in a row, as if I'm becoming noticeably bigger every single day -_- Come on, Mom!
  • i get the "you must be ready to pop any day now" comments. im like nope, i got -----------weeks left. then i get the "ohhhh" with a deep stare directed at my belly.

That is another one that KILLS me. The deep belly stare. I stare right back and give em a "What? You've never seen a pregnant woman before?" stare.
  • People act like they have never seen a pregnant woman or let alone seen ME pregnant. I'm big because I usually don't have a basketball in my shirt but I'm going to get A LOT Bigger. Just like last time guys. I'm half the size I will be in a month. Baby's get big in the end.
  • I effing HATE how once it's obvious you're pregnant, all of a sudden total strangers start asking all sorts of questions and trying to feel your belly.

I was bra shopping the other day and some lady decided to get up in my bubble and grill me/give me parenting advice until I just lost it and walked away in the middle of one of her sentences. Hello, you are still a stranger and no I don't feel like sharing the details of my pregnancy and family life with you or listening to your damn anecdotes! And yeah, I'm totally fine with being the bitch who walks away while you're imposing yourself on me.

    Sheesh!
  • It was actually kind of funny, but a little girl in the waiting room at my doctor's appointment this morning looked at her parents then at me and said "Look at her big belly!". She was maybe 5 or 6. The parents apologized, fortunately
  • "There's no way you'll make it to your due date."

    "That baby's definitely coming early!"

"It looks like he's already dropped."

My response to all of this... Actually, he's measuring small according to my doctor. I'm just this big. I literally said that.

People have no idea!!! They don't think at all! Grrrr!
  • All the women I work with have boys most of the boys are around my age. When I shared that I was having a boy allllll the advice started rolling in even though this is my second child. Just because I have a daughter they seem to think I basically have no knowledge on how to deal with a baby because this one is a boy. Plus as PP have said all of the "just you wait..." I'm going to start flipping out on people!
  • A few months ago a family friend asked mil what she thought about the new addition to the family she replied with what addition? 8 mths pregnant she's finally coming around to accept it now.
  • My sister has a great response to people asking if you planning on "going natural" - meaning no pain meds or whatever. She felt if they wanted to ask such a personal question then they can get all the gritty details. "Well when I tear from my V to my A, I might really want some pain meds on board." I really want to say that and then take a picture of the person's face.

Yes, been getting comments about my/baby's size for a few weeks now, SO sick of it!
Then they backpedal, and say something like "oh, it's just because you're so petite", makes you look bigger. That doesn't even make sense. I agree, the body comments are so unnecessary, just stick to congratulations.
My m/w was super sweet and assured me that I was normal size, people are just idiots :)

He settles her in her home as a happy mother of children, praise the Lord! (Psalms 113:9)
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understand, will guard your heart and mind in Jesus Christ (Philippians 4:7)

  • I love hubby's parents. These were said in love and jest, but I had to share:

    MIL:
You can't even tell you're pregnant from the back. I mean... your butt...?!

    Later...

    FIL:
(Staring at my belly for the first time in 2 weeks, laughing)
"Man, you're getting fat as shit!"

This comment was completely made out of love, and made us all laugh. He didn't hurt my feelings at all (bc I'm pretty much stick legs and arms with huge boobs and belly), but was still ridiculous! If anyone else had said this, I'd throat punch him.
  • This is a daily occurrence and it makes me crazy!!!!! Like every pregnancy is the same and why do people stare like they've never seen a pregnant woman before?. Seriously though people, make us feel more uncomfortable then we already are. %-(
  • Thankfully I haven't been getting these comments and the ones that I have been getting haven't bothered me... Hang in there ladies!'

  • My parents will be first time grandparents and are completely anxious and clueless. They never know what to not say. Last weekend I hosted a party.

Mom walks in kitchen and says to me (in front of everyone): "Hey there, fattie!"

After dinner, my dad announced "you should open a restaurant and call it Chubby`s Lasagna! Hahaha!!!"

Are you kidding me? Everyone just gave them a WTF look and ignored them, including me. Completely clueless.
  • I don't know if this was rude per say, but certainly strange....

I ordered a raspberry smoothie yesterday and the teenager taking my order says, "I heard raspberry isn't good for pregnant people."

I said, "it's fine." End of discussion right? Apparently not, she responds, "Are you sure, because my boss told me raspberry isn't good for you."

Ya girl, i'm sure that I want this deliciously healthy berry, instead of your boss at the smoothie shop's super educated opinion about my prenatal care!

I was polite and everything because I know she meant well, but when she wasn't looking I swear my eyeballs almost rolled out of their sockets.

What the? Seriously? Like you should believe some random person who heard second hand from some other random person - neither of which has any medical anything? Whatev.

First off, it's none of her business. Now, if you had asked her to spike it... ;)

Second, it's raspberry leaf that pregnant women are supposed to avoid because it can cause contractions. Sounds like her boss was confused.
  • 32 weeks in two days and I still get the "omg , you don't even look pregnant" are you sure there's a baby in there...

This. I get this every single day at work and it's so frustrating! I wear scrubs, and I've already gone up a size. My belly just gets lost in my giant scrub top, but YES I'M PREGNANT DAMMIT!!

    I know, right? So weird.
  • A man  stopped me in the food court this am and asked "If you have the baby right now will you name it Food Court?"

    Ummmm WTF???
No I am not about to just have a baby on the floor, thanks weirdo.
