I always have 3-4am insomnia even when not pregnant. No matter what time I go to bed, I pretty much always wake up around 430 and if I wake up at 530am that is like sleeping in to me. I completely understand your frustration, waking up that early and not being able to go back to bed even if you're dead tired just plain sucks. For awhile now I have actually enjoyed getting up that early because it gives me some me time before the kids wake up. I know that dyphenhidramine (what is in Tylenol pm) is safe to take during pregnancy so maybe you can try that to see if it helps.
I've been experiencing the same thing! Usually around 5am (my work schedule usually ends around 10pm so I go to bed/wake up later, and can sometimes grab another hour of sleep between 7 and 8). But I'm so glad to know I'm not alone... Is it like this the whole pregnancy?
It's really interesting what other posters have said about the time they woke up during pregnancy being the time their babies woke up in the night, maybe it is a training thing... Either way I'm really hoping to manage to get rest before the baby arrives since I don't expect to really sleep for years after that! (This is my first).
