CD 5 today and still heavy and painful AF. I'm so ready for AF to be over and the fertile window to come back around. I'm just feeling so frustrated and down today anyone else on CD5 or similar?
FX for all the ladies testing today
I'm on 6! Best period I've had in years, exercise really does help.
Thanks 27alex - I agree- it definitely helps ease cramps and elevate mood. I'm usually a very avid exerciser but unfortunately the first 3-4 days of my period are always so bad I can't bear to move much at all. Today is the first day I'll be at the gym this week so hopefully I'll feel a little more upbeat after that. Of course it's FRIDAY a too so I'm psyched about that- this has been a long week!
Any suggestions for what kind of exercise/activities are good for the really crampy days when exercise seems like torture?
I love the Les Mills classes. Body pump is always good and I feel like I'm more motivated than if I worked out alone, especially when id rather be home with my heating pad and some wine.
Les Mills Body pump is my favorite too- my gym offers a body pump class. I've been doing body pump a couple of times a week for a few months along with my usual cardio and free weight stuff and I've suddenly got all these new muscles from it which is pretty exciting! As for sex during AF I have never tried it- I'd be up for it but I'm afraid to even suggest it to DH he's very very squeamish
Have you done their combat class!? That's good too.
Lights off with a towel, or shower sex! DH used to be like that.
No, I didn't know they had a combat class- I'd love to try that if my gym offered it- maybe I'll drop that in their suggestion box!
I'll try that- I'd love to get him to open up to new things

No go with my DH on the period bd lol! @27alex I am definitely testing tomorrow if there is no sign of more brown discharge (sorry tmi).. and a big up to you gals for doing training! I love the GRID at gym.. been off it re iui for now, but def getting back on the wagon if AF shows! :>
Think I am finally in the TWW! FF says I am 3 dpo. I am currently CD 20. This was my first month of temping, so glad I started! Hoping for my BFP this month, but it is only Second Month TTC, so I know my odds. If it is not my month I will be charting my cm and using OPKs as well. Now to wait Luckily DH sugars so right now we are busy everyday, so hopefully the time flies by :-\"
Fx for all of you ladies! @kyleneum13 I would be right there with you if I was going on a trip! Enjoy and relax (as much as you can! )!!
@BLyman2 awesome for getting your crosshairs! Don't you love how FF doesn't give you your O date until three days into the 2WW so you don't actually have to wait two full weeks!? You're already three days down! And yeah, it's only a four day trip (get back Thursday night) so either AF will show during the trip or I can test again on 16dpo (Friday morning).
So I went to Walmart after work yesterday, and they had Answer Early Result tests on clearance. I got two boxes of those and some cheapies for the same price as a 3 pack of FRER (score!). Took a test this am with FMU and got another BFN. I'm trying not to be too disappointed since tests at 11dpo are only about 50% accurate. Most of the pics of this test at 11dpo on FF are REALLY faint. I'll probably wait until tomorrow or Sunday to test again if AF doesn't show up first.
Thanks @concreteayngel! Even if AF does come, at least I know that I did ovulate and that my luteal phase is a normal length. Trying to look at the bright side. How is your wait to O going?

Mmmk, so this has nothing at all to do with the 2WW or cycles or TTC or whatever ... but I have to share because it's Friday and I get snarky on Fridays and if I said this to my actual friend I would probably get bitch slapped. So, a friend of mine is getting married in a few weeks. We're not close enough friends for me to have been invited to the wedding but I stalked her wedding website anyway ... and on her registry page it has a line that says, "If you don't find anything on the registries that catches your eye, we'd love Home Depot and Amazon gift cards or cash."
What. the. what? Do people really come right out and say that stuff? Am I just weird thinking that's a little tacky?

I protest those events. And then usually distance myself from those people.

Tacky [-(
We got gift cards w/o putting that we want them. I think if people don't see what they want to give they will give a gift card regardless of it being mentioned.
Hello Everyone! I'm a newbie, TTC for a year and stopped until graduation. Me and DH started back in February but we decided to see a fertility specialist. So basically had an Ultrasound, HSG and genetics testing in late March. I got a Positive result in OPK

Yeah, that's tacky!
I love that you are stalking her registry, definitely something I would do.
I'm a bit of an etiquette snob. My cousin is getting married next month. Neither her nor her BF work full time. They have 2 kids. She is not registering for her shower because she "wants cash bc they can't afford a honeymoon". They have already booked the trip to Mexico expecting their guest to pay for the trip.

I don't understand that either!! I think it's incredibly tacky! A girl I went to school with just got married a month ago. And her and her husband already lived together so they asked for only cash. I just don't agree with that lol

I mean there are honeymoon registries that she could have done, which I actually still find some what tacky but still
Im so glad Im not the only one that thinks it was tacky! I have heard about the honeymoon funds too and Im not a fan of those either.
Hubby and I just got married in October. We had two registries (macys and crate and barrel) that we set up prior to showers and then didnt touch again. Didnt really even tell people we had one. It worked just fine. I jus. dont get these gift grabby concepts.

I know someone who asked just for cash too. She also told us outright that because we were just her "work friends" she didn't want us to bring our significant other unless we were married because she didn't want to have to pay for their food. :-q
Just to play devil's advocate, I will say that some wedding registry customs vary by region. For instance, in the South (where I live) it is customary to register and make it public knowledge, in some parts of the northeast registries are not common and cash is more the norm. In some parts of Europe it's very common to receive cash (it's just understood) almost to help you with a down payment for a home. That being said, I still agree that there are times and circumstances where people's registries and not so subtle suggestions are tacky and tasteless.
While we're on this topic, can I throw out the (in my opinion) controversial baby shower for the second baby? Am I the only one that thinks these invites should say "no gifts necessary" bc they already had a baby and therefore should have all baby essentials besides diapers and other consumables? Maybe I'm alone here but I don't like those...
I totally hear you on the customs of differenr areas. Up here in Seattle though, thats just tacky :-)
As for the showers, I think it depends on sex and timeframe between kids. If its a boy when they already have a girl or vice versa, or a long period of time between kids, I can see having another one because there are some items (clothes etc) that might differ between girls and boys and lots of items may be old, no longer usable, not acceptable anymore (car seat regulations etc) or the like.
I don't like showers for second babies either. Yes, there are some circumstances I can see it being ok. For example: if mom had first baby very young and now, 10 years later she is married and having a baby and husbands family wants to throw a shower bc it's his first baby. Acceptable. Not acceptable: you had a shower 2 years ago and now you are having a baby of a different sex. No. Not ok.
In my circle of friends we have thrown surprise 'sprinkles' for 2nd time moms. Most gifts are small. An outfit. Hairbows. A pair of cute shoes. But the mom has nothing to do with it. There is no registry. Just girlfriends lunch with small gifts.
While we are on the subject, I can not stand when you are asked to fill out an envelope with your name and address for thank you cards. I don't care if one gets drawn for a prize. It is the most tacky thing you can do in my book. If someone took the time to buy a gift and come to celebrate you, you write a thank you note and address the envelope. I know 'everyone' does it. It drives me batty.

DH and I only put "and guest" on our invites for our bridal party. People only got to bring their SO if they were in a serious relationship (together more than a year, talking marriage, etc). Of course, some people decided they could bring a guest anyway. I had one girl ask permission to bring her boyfriend and I originally told her it depended on numbers, but then said yes just because at least she asked, lol. I personally don't think it was tacky for me to do that, but I could see how it would be.

Hi, Ladies!! I didn't lunch today or have a planning period so I haven't lurked today. @Carlaisy did you test? FX for you, @kyleneum13 , @Trisham1201 , and all you other Passionate POAS gals! I tested this morning using an 88¢ Wal-Mart Cheapie AND the non-digital First Response Test & Confirm (did not use the digital to confirm). BFPs. My mind has been alternately blank and screaming all day. FF calculates I am 14 dpo based on when I tested "peak" on a CB OPK.
Hey there gals... going to test this morning. Had a 0.1 dip from 36.8 to 36.7. Still slight brown spotting on 13dpo. I think I will just keep a brave face and keep going. Will do another IUI next month if this one doesn't work. DH is so open to all the avenues of fertility its amazing. Welcome to all the PPOSA (Passionate POAS addicts ) ) yes I also love that its the longest thread! We should try to keep it on the top of he search pile so its easy to find! I would love a bump and a baby shower.. sigh. Sounds like many of you ladies are just married by your posts? I decided to wait a bit before having a babe but when I realised there were some issues the TTC road hit me. Fx for all you ladies!!
Congrats @DandT2point0 !! Good luck to all the others still waiting to test! Hope to see a lot more BFP on this thread. According to FF I am 7dpo and I will be waiting until 13 or 14dpo to test if af doesn't show. Trying not to stress the wait this time and wait as long as possible.

Not sure if everyone from MI does this but it's the norm to give a gift at the shower and then cash at the wedding. My family always tries to give enough cash to cover their meals. But if people can't come to the shower it's not weird to see gifts at the wedding too. Most of my in laws are from NJ and they were shocked and some of them appalled to see gifts at the wedding, saying "why didn't they just give you cash?" They thought that was tacky so it definitely varies.

I would love a bump and a baby shower.. sigh. Sounds like many of you ladies are just married by your posts? I decided to wait a bit before having a babe but when I realised there were some issues the TTC road hit me.
Fx for all you ladies!!
Good luck to all the others still waiting to test! Hope to see a lot more BFP on this thread. According to FF I am 7dpo and I will be waiting until 13 or 14dpo to test if af doesn't show. Trying not to stress the wait this time and wait as long as possible.
