GTKY : Where in the world....

Are you located? Are you in the US? Australia? The UK?

We don't need to go into specific locations, just wondering where most of the population here is located. I know some of us are from the US, UK and Australia...anywhere else? Tell us something interesting about your area!

I'll start off by saying I am in the US, I live in PA.

Something interesting about my location is that we have a place called "gravity hill" and this hill defies gravity in that if you put your car in neutral at the BOTTOM of the hill, your car will still move UP the hill! I have no idea why but it's neat!!!  Another cool thing is that there has been an underground mine fire burning constantly since 1962. That's over 50 years. The fire caused the town the mine was in to be nearly completely abandoned. There are only 7 residence left in the town the fire is burning it from what was once 1,000 people. You can see the fire and smoke coming up through in cracks and holes in the roads and ground.

All the time. The film trucks shut down the local streets all the time.

I bet that gets so annoying for you? Do you ever get to get on camera!? That's be neat. Lol. I'd be like " You need to pay me for that shit.": hahaha.
  • I live in South Florida. I can't think of anything interesting other than that I live in a place where everyone goes to retire or vacation.  ;)
  • I don't mind. My daughter thinks it's cool and likes the lights and trucks. It's fun seeing all the local places on camera too. Never been on camera. They couldn't afford me. Lol yeah right
  • I'm from Wisconsin. Only thing I can think of is beer and cheese lol. Oh and of course the Packers. But I think I'm a bit biased with that.
  • Currently located in Hawaii but PA will always be home.

Hawaii at least Oahu is not what people expect. Lots of homeless and traffic. Certainly not "paradise".

  • Gainesville Florida thats why im gatormom :) university of FL is here! Whooo hooo GO GATORS
  • We love Hawaii! And Oahu! I'm so sad you don't love it. Are you near Ko'olina? That's our favorite place to travel. I was surprised by all the hookers though.
  • @NittanyPA yep military

@Ckorines I'm near Pearl Harbor about 7 miles from base.

It can be great but like yesterday my husband sat in traffic for three hours to go seven miles so it's hard to even enjoy anything when you have to sit in traffic.

  • Wow! We've been there too. I can imagine it can be frustrating with all the tourists and the traffic they bring too. I totally get it. Take a baby moon trip to Ko'olina. You will love it!!!!!

  • I live in a rural area of Ohio, USA. A cool thing about Ohio is that the weather here defies all scientific explanation. Well that's not really cool... Ohio doesn't really have anything cool.

  • @gotdiesel2007 my.husband is stationed out there. I'll be moving out there some time but you never know dealing with the military. Where do you live? I can't stand the traffic and homeless there. I think I'm not going to like it there .

I'm from Atlanta, GA in the US. Love being from the dirty south and am definitely a southern belle. Here you can get all 4 seasons In one week! In the Spring we get more inches of pollen a day than we do snow in a year. A lot of famous people live here and a lot of shows and movies are taped here. I love my city. If you've never been here, yoy need to come.
  • I'm from the Canadian prairies. I feel you ladies with the crazy weather...using A/C and heat in the same day is pretty common. Our summers get crazy hot and our winters get insanely cold (-45*C is pretty common in winter). A random about Canada is that we have polar bears (way up north). And poutine really is awesome! Has anyone heard of the tv show Corner Gas? It was filmed on the prairies. :)

That's interesting! I've never been there but I have always wanted to visit. My cousin lives down there with his family. He's a police officer. He says he really likes it down there, but being from PA, he says he gets a lot of entertainment when everything shuts down for a little bit of snow. LOL.

No. I don't have a passport, but I'd love to go and see Canada. From what I see its pretty.

Canada! Cool! The fact that you have polar bears is even more cool! What is poutine? I've never heard of that show but it sounds interesting to look into. I've wanted to visit Canada ever since we went to the NY side of Niagra Falls a few years ago. Everyone says how much better is it! I shouldn't have let my passport expire after getting married, because we've had so many chances to go.
  • British Columbia, Canada !! Vancouver Island to be exact ! Such a beautiful place!
