I've only gained 10. Worried it's not enough but doctor doesn't seem worried, baby is fine. I just never feel hungry! Is that happening to anyone else??
25 weeks and 2 days and have gained 7lbs so far. I had terrible morning sickness up until 21 weeks and still get sick occasionally. Doctor said baby is growing fine and is measuring right on though! I'm sure I'll be gaining the weight in the next few weeks and months!
24 weeks today and at my appointment last week I was up about 15 pounds. Everyone is always telling me I only look pregnant in the belly so hopefully it stays that way! Haha
Geez, I feel bad. I'm already up like 70 pounds at 24 weeks. I think I'm ok though because they are bull dozing the KFC next to my house in a month and I eat there like ninety percent of the time.
I was up 15 lbs at my 22 week appt which my doctor said was totally fine and on track. I was surprised it was that much because at my 18 week appt I was only up 9 so I guess I really packed it on in the last month! Oh well, baby must need it. I do feel like I'm eating more frequently but I've been keeping it mostly healthy.
I'll be 25 weeks on sat. And I'm with you at 18lbs. - with my first two I gained 45 and then 43 I was really hoping for like 30 this time around, doesn't look like that will be my reality =p
Up 17lbs at my 22w appt. I was also below my "normal" weight when I got pregnant, thanks to nearly 2 years of EPing, so I think my body packed on those extra 3-4lbs it "wanted" right away! That, and being pulled off all forms of exercise (including walking) at 12w -- that certainly doesn't help. Add on the weekly progesterone injections and who knows what the heck my body is doing. I DO know I was not able to fit into the pants I'm wearing now at this point with the twin pregnancy, so I'm certainly tracking behind where I was at that point (which, I'd certainly expect to be the case!!)
I just pretty much avoid the scale at home (don't need that "help"), and try to eat healthily as much as possible, with a few indulgences so I don't go insane. It all came off the first time, in time, and I know that will be the case this time, too. I just try not to agonize over the number on the scale. Baby gets what baby needs!

Not bashing or judging, because goodness knows I'm not "following the rules" either, but here's the recommended weight gain guidelines from the IOM for a singleton pregnancy:
@andreaschneier I went through this really strange period where I was having some crazy indigestion and had no appetite at all.. even now my appetite seems to come and go. It's really odd!
i'm 23 weeks and i've gained 30lbs. with my first i gained 50lbs total so i'm definitely nervous i'm gonna pass 50 this time around. my doctor is happy about the weight gain though, with the last pregnancy and with this one. i was 98lbs before both pregnancies so he thinks a little extra weight won't hurt lol.
25 weeks today and I've gained 8 pounds so far. Also worried it isn't enough but doctor hasn't said anything yet. Might ask at next appt. But I'm also not feeling very hungry.
For some people it's not easy to lose the weight after baby @JaneJane7 no matter how hard they try it never fully comes off. And how can you put a max on how much you will gain?! I didn't over indulge my first pregnancy and I gained 40 pounds and came out with only being 6 pounds heavier then I was pre pregnancy. But shit happens and I became depressed and had ppd so food was my comfort. Gained 20 pounds and still working my ass to get it off. And fyi....nobody looks the same after pregnancy!

Amen to the bolded! My recommended weight gain was 25-35lb. Gained 26 with DD and 29 with DS. Really only had to lose about 5ish pounds after the initial postpartum weight loss. It didn't come off quickly, but did come off both times. Even still some of my clothes never looked right even though I had lost all the weight, my hips just never fully went back to normal I think.

BFP: 04/03/2014 EDD: 12/15/2014 HB: 04/30/14 (75bpm) MC: 5/2/2014 (natural)
My body's never had a problem holding onto the weight that it needs to lol
Underweight: 28-40 lbs
Normal weight: 25-35 lbs
Overweight: 15-25 lbs
Obese: 11-20 lbs
Obviously, every woman and pregnancy are different, so defer to your health care provider.
On a related note, the NYTimes had an interesting article today about obesity and pregnancy in case anyone is interested.
I don't think pregnancy is any reason to super indulge and pack on pounds. I've seen too many people never look the same after pregnancy.
I worked too hard for my body to let it go.
And babe is perfectly healthy!!
