Re: Vent/Gripe/Frustration: Post it Here!

  • HAHAHAHA @mellymar can you tell i'm seriously going to blow a gasket on that thread?!  If it wasn't going to get me banned, I swear i would just start posting some realllllllllllllllly foul language so the moderators would just delete the whole damn thing. Seriously though, there are threads where idiots post something stupid, we all get mad and call them dumb and the moderators swooooooop on in and save them from being ridiculed. Does it need to come to that on that effing thread?!  GOOD GOD SOMEONE MAKE IT STOP! Can I just post dancing gifs there all day today? Would that make it go away? I have some down time at work, I'm running through every possibility of gif lol

Can you tell I'm cracking?! I'm going insane. hahahaha

  • Seriously, are doctors always freaking late? I had to switch to an OB office when my midwives "merged" with them. The original midwives I loved, started up their own birthing center and since I'm high risk and prefer to birth in a hospital, this is my option. I've been waiting 30 min so far....ugh I miss my midwives and their personal care.

Yes they are unless you are first appointment.... Today I had a 945 appointment and was not seen until after 10:30... And the dr spent about 5 minutes with me... It feels like such a waste if my day! I usually only schedule 8:15 appointments for this reason!

The OB I started with typically kept me waiting for an hour or more. The doctors I switched to around week 16 are MUCH better - I think the longest I had to wait was 15 minutes and that was very atypical of them. My only complaint with this practice is that it's impossible to get through to their nurses' line - they seriously never pick up! They do usually call me back within an hour though.

That's nice! My favorite doctor can keep you waiting HOURS so I haven't even seen her since my first visit! I lined up some first appts with her for the next few weeks though so unless she is late I should get in on time!
  • @KarasTwin lol I'm doing my best to let it die but people are out of their minds and continue to keep posting their weight updates, even in the middle of us saying how friggin horrible the thread is. It's starting to make me laugh. Might be just the entertainment i need to get through a tuesday

Good luck! I hope she shows up on time, if you're putting in the effort to be there early in the morning, she should, too!

  • @Mommaswizz I know, right! I didn't mean for you to let it die, just all those that continually drag it up. I'm totally sympathetic to everyone feeling pressure from their doctors but we are growing tiny humans and our bodies are doing amazing things. People are critical enough, let's build each other up! I love that ya'll have the courage to speak up!

Same here. I'll leave it alone as long as other people leave it alone. But if it gets more posts I've decided to go in there and tell people to get a clue - people hate that thread

  • I work with a bunch of germaphobes as it is, but now there's a couple who are obsessed or something with my getting sick. I sneeze at least once a day, at least two sneezes an incident. I have since the dawn of time, I have allergies, it's what I do. It in no way signifies that I'm getting sick, in fact the opposite applies to me, usually I stop sneezing when I'm sick. Anyway.

Last week I sneezed a couple times in a row and someone has to pipe up asking me if I'm getting sick, because I "can't take anything if I do". Today is a spring weather day. It's sunny, we're already at 68F, supposed to get to the mid-70's. I just got a bunch of cute stuff from Old Navy delivered Saturday, so I'm wearing a sleeveless, below the knee dress. Same lady tells me I look springy an I thank her, mention it's a bit chilly for the office temp, but I have a jacket if it gets bad. I get, "yeah, cause you don't want to get sick going in and out of warm and cold". For starters, that's not what causes illness. Secondly, do you people want me to get sick or something? And this is part of why I don't really discuss what's going on with me and/or my pregnancy very often. Oh, the unsolicited advice......

  • I love that there are a bunch of us sticking together on this!! Makes it so much easier to laugh at and not get angry. You guys give me faith that I'm not going crazy!
  • I HATE THAT THREAD. I don't know what else to say but that it NEEDS TO DIE.
  • Does anyone else really want to comment on the names thread but doesn't because at least people are using the names thread? I only get involved in the name game when people make their own threads and ask about how "wonderful" their name is but I sometimes really want to questions ones on the names thread!

Yes. I hate several threads actually, but personally don't feel I have a right to try to shut down other people's comments as long as they are contained in the right threads. I throw my opinion in sometimes though (ahem, diaper bag thread!). I also find it a weird mix of us wanting people to use the Search tool, but then criticizing when old threads are resurrected.

I am as guilty on all this as the next lady, so am NOT complaining or criticizing. Just observing. I think we all have things that annoy us, some topics more passionately than others. But I like the controversy, too. Too much koombayah is boring and disingenuous.
  • when youre trying to pay your rent and the property manager decides to be almost an hour late from the time that SHE told me to meet her.. its my day off. DH is at work so he couldnt do it. and if i wake up too early i get really bad nausea.. so basically its only 9:30am and today is already a write off. oh and our internet is being finicky so i cant even sit and watch anything..

This is kinda similar to @devyns2nd gripe a few days back about her hubs and his 'relax it out' time. Normally I drive DH to work when he is on duty and drive back home (we have 1 car, and a motorcycle. Too cold for the motorcycle now). This morning he had a drs appointment, so the plan was for him to take the car to work, go to the drs, then come home and get me so I could sleep late and then drop him off at work. Well, normally, he wakes, feeds the cats, wakes me up, and while I am struggling out of sleep and bed and fumbling for car keys / wallet / etc he is in the downstairs bathroom doing business. This morning he gets up and decides to use the master bathroom for his morning poop. So, I wake up to the sound of the flush and then have the smell crawling into the bedroom while I am trying to sleep late. Seriously, babe? Couldn't do that downstairs, like usual? Sigh... :-<

  • My gripe: I just called my insurance to get some basic cost estimates for the birth. It's like they speak a foreign language. I still have no idea what I'm likely to pay, a page full of notes that I don't understand, and a burgeoning desire to just drive off into the wilderness and "go off the grid."

Ugh. DH went out with a friend last night who's going through a bad time. No problem, especially since he's pretty much completely stopped going out since I've been pregnant because I can't go with him. The problem occurred when he fell asleep at said friend's house unintentionally and his phone died. Leaving me with no clue as to where he was/if he was okay, so of course I couldn't fall asleep and was up worried all night. He finally rolls in at 530 this morning and says "damn you're still awake?!" Then lays down and falls back asleep......so now I have literally been up all night long with no sleep. I have a doctors appointment in a couple hours anddddd I have to work immediately following my appointment until 9PM. I work from home luckily, but still. As if I'm not already tired enough all the time. Now I'm running on zero sleep for one of the very few long days I have. So frustrating. I almost want to leave for my appointment without him while he's still asleep....

I would have been sooo tempted to leave without him too.  What did you end up doing?
  • @KonaCoffeeBean I HATE TALKING TO INSURANCE COMPANIES!! I tried to add my husband to my (grandfathered) policy back in December, I won't get into the whole story because I don't want to feel those rage emotions, but needless to say after speaking to a bunch of flipping morons with empty promises and lies spewing from their mouths, he ended up with his own ACA policy. God forbid I would ever have to dispute a claim! I'm convinced they literally train people to confuse the customer. Basically I understand your frustrations and it's obviously still a very touchy subject for me. Lol. Good news is almost all hospitals offer payment plans. We are still paying off DS birth, $100/mo. No interest.
