I'm curious how other December mom are doing postpartum. My stomach still looks about 4 months pregnant, as I have a flabby paunch that I've never had before. I've heard you shouldn't do ab workouts until at least six months post-partum so I'm holding off on that. I've started doing very moderate exercise but I'm trying to take that slow to give myself time to fully heal.
I also am dealing with some granulation tissue (which means Silver Nitrate applications every two weeks at the OB) - so hubby and I haven't been able to DTD.
Other than the weight and the granulation tissue, feeling pretty decent. But those are two big things I'm hoping will resolve over the next few months. How's everyone else?
Re: Postpartum body
I haven't gotten into an exercise routine like I should... But I do hope to get excellent use out of our jogging stroller one the weather warms up.
I notice that sex is harder than it used to be, so I must be out of shape
The good news is that I've been heavy at other times in my life and lost weight, so I know what to do and that I CAN do it. I'm in a wedding in early October so that's my goal to lose these 30lbs, which would be a healthy rate of loss.
Appearance wise, my stretch marks were out of control so definitely never going to be in a 2-piece again. And still flabby skin, but I am hoping that will tighten as I lose wight and exercise more.
My tummy has a small pudge but it's not too bad at all, especially in clothes. Overall for this being my 3rd baby, I'm not complaining. As long as I can look decent by Summer, I'm all good!
But I feel like I'm in some one else's body right now. I've also been toned and looked good in any thing. Now every time I try on clothes I end up crying. I didn't think it was going to be this hard.
Now that the weather is warming up I've been taking the boy and the dog for long walks everyday (when it's not raining), I try to get in about 5 miles a day. Usually takes me about two 45 min walks. I've noticed my thighs are starting to slim down a tiny bit. I will be starting the 30 little black dress challenge. If I find it too difficult I'll just pick a couple 30 day challenges that are not as intense. I hope to feel comfortable in a bathing suit this summer. For me it more my his thighs and butt that I'm super uncomfortable with because I feel like I put more of that weight on post partum.
