Re: names?

  • Still undecided on first name.

Either Eli Christian or Noah Christian.

Middle name is set. Christian was my brothers name. He died almost 7 years ago and him and I were super close.

  • That's not just "out there" it's a joke from a comedy...surely you aren't going to name your kids after a joke that worked hard to stereotype the characters in a movie?

  • Penelope Shae :)
  • If we have a boy, he will be Raider Brant. If we have a girl, she will be Woodson Rachael.
The middle names are our names.
  • William "Liam" Bishop
  • Ezra Dean. Dean is my boyfriends dad's middle name and we both just fell in love with Ezra. (:
  • There's nothing Better Than Ezra! (Had to go there). I love the name Ezra!!

  • Lincoln Christopher :). We will call him linc for short. My husband is a huge Zelda fan. Christopher is after my father in law that passed away in 2012
  • We have decided on vivian. :) what's funny was it was of my first 5 choices and hubby loved it. We call her vivi.

I wanted to name our girl Vivian and call her Vivi After my grandma but my husband didn't like it all! So jealous you get to use it lol
  • Finn Owen. Owen is a family name on my dads side and we liked Finn. My grandmother has already told me there's still time to change his name lol. Good thing I could care less what she thinks bc she's Debbie downer. I thought a great April fools would be to tell our parents we changed his first name (they have monogrammed EVERYTHING).

Ditto, I tried to change DH's mind for 6 months. Looove Vivian --> Vivi
  • We have tentatively decided on Hannah Elizabeth and Norah Lynn. It took forever because they had to sort of go together without feeling matchy...

My friend just recently had her second set of twin girls (out of 6 girls total). It took them a week after they were born to decide on names!
  • Falcor Racing-Snail and Frodo Rockgiant are the chip leaders in our house at the moment.
    :P
  • Kadence Jade.. She isn't named after anyone or anything specific we just like it

That's a lot of girls! A second set of twins is kind of my worst nightmare lol. One of the main reasons why I don't want anymore after this.
  • Emily Renée
  • Fox Orion. A girl would have been Coraline Odette.
  • I was going to ask if you were a pretty little liars fan! Hehe I love the name Ezra!
  • We are naming our little girl Bristol Marie or Bristol Kate. Can't decide on a middle name?!
  • We picked the name Anya Nicole for our daughter
  • Blake Charles, SO picked the first name and MN is after my dad.
  • We had originally decided on a different name, but my husband and I kept coming back to August. So it's looking like our little boy will be August Eric.
  • @kyleegail89 I love Zelda, too! So cute that you two were able to work it into a name

@madelynnschmidt August was on my shortlist. We went with something else but I like it, too

I love the nickname Augie... Not sure if you do but it is so super cute!
  • Never seen pretty little liars but thank you!
  • Ugh we are still nowhere closer to a girls name after multiple conversations and letting a lot of time pass to see what settles. Nina was an early front runner but has cooled for both of us. Same with Ramona. I like Pearl or Elyse but DH doesn't. I don't think we can saddle her with Athena.

I bet we won't even have a name until she's born.

If it makes you feel any better, my MIL is constantly reminding me that even if you think you're set on a name, you might change your mind when baby comes. In her case, she was adamant that if she ever had a girl, she'd name her Rebecca Lynn. After 2 miscarriages and 2 baby boys, she finally had her girl... but when she saw her, she decided Theresa Marie was a better fit. I know it's frustrating to be at a stand still, but, as my MIL says, even having a name picked out is no guarantee that you'll use it!

  • Evan, unless we come up with a first name we like better in the next 12ish weeks. Middle name contenders are Connor, Henry or Murphy (my top pick, but DH has vetoed)

We have it narrowed down to 3 names...we'll make the final decision once we meet her.

My fathers name is August Harry, named after each of his grandfathers and everyone calls him Augie! Of course, I call him Auggie Doggie

    :P
  • Would love some perspective. DH and I recently realized we both love the name Evelyn. It fits our criteria of traditional but not too popular.

The only potentially weird thing is that DH's aunt by marriage is named Evelyn, but she has never gone by it and goes by Lynn.

We are trying to keep potential names a secret, but if you were us, would you give the aunt a heads up? Ironically she does not like the name which is why she's never used it in full. We would not shorten it to Lynn for our daughter. It would also mean there are two Evelyn "Smith"s in the family. Is that too weird? (Ps last name not actually Smith but you get what I mean).

We think it's probably all fine but I'd love some outside perspective.

I don't think I'd worry about telling her. She's 2 generations removed from your LO and doesn't go by the full name so I doubt she'd be upset by it (and if she were, would you reconsider using the name?). Every family is different of course, though - in mine sharing names is not a big deal at all so I didn't give it a second thought when we chose to give our baby the same first name as one of my cousins.

Another thing to consider is if you tell the aunt, chances are other people will find out the name. If you want to keep the baby's name a secret until she's born, all the more reason to not give a head's up.

ETA also, yay for potentially finding a front runner for the name! I know you guys had been having trouble finding something you both love :) now... do you still need a middle name, or have you had one picked out?
