That's not just "out there" it's a joke from a comedy...surely you aren't going to name your kids after a joke that worked hard to stereotype the characters in a movie?

Maybe more of us should really be running our names by at least one friend to get an honest opinion before these poor babies are saddled with such yoonik names...
These were our original picks that I think make great names! For a girl Princess Consuela Banana Hamock And for a boy Crap Bag. Or just Crap. I think it sounds catchy.
Finn Owen. Owen is a family name on my dads side and we liked Finn. My grandmother has already told me there's still time to change his name lol. Good thing I could care less what she thinks bc she's Debbie downer. I thought a great April fools would be to tell our parents we changed his first name (they have monogrammed EVERYTHING).
We had originally decided on a different name, but my husband and I kept coming back to August. So it's looking like our little boy will be August Eric.

I love the nickname Augie... Not sure if you do but it is so super cute!
A friend bought us a book of Hipster Baby Names. We spent an hour going through it with my parents and MIL and settled on KansasCity Barbecue - KC for short. Can't decide on middle name spelling, Barbecue or BBQ. Maybe Bar-b-q since dashes are In.
Ugh we are still nowhere closer to a girls name after multiple conversations and letting a lot of time pass to see what settles. Nina was an early front runner but has cooled for both of us. Same with Ramona. I like Pearl or Elyse but DH doesn't. I don't think we can saddle her with Athena.

I bet we won't even have a name until she's born.
If it makes you feel any better, my MIL is constantly reminding me that even if you think you're set on a name, you might change your mind when baby comes. In her case, she was adamant that if she ever had a girl, she'd name her Rebecca Lynn. After 2 miscarriages and 2 baby boys, she finally had her girl... but when she saw her, she decided Theresa Marie was a better fit. I know it's frustrating to be at a stand still, but, as my MIL says, even having a name picked out is no guarantee that you'll use it!
Evan, unless we come up with a first name we like better in the next 12ish weeks. Middle name contenders are Connor, Henry or Murphy (my top pick, but DH has vetoed)
Swayze Kaye Elaine Swayze after my great grandmother because we felt Evelyn was too popular, Kaye after my grandmother & Elaine after my husbands grandmother.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE finn!!!! That was the pick for a boy if we were to have a boy! I was so excited about the name. Maybe one day!

My fathers name is August Harry, named after each of his grandfathers and everyone calls him Augie! Of course, I call him Auggie Doggie
Would love some perspective. DH and I recently realized we both love the name Evelyn. It fits our criteria of traditional but not too popular.
The only potentially weird thing is that DH's aunt by marriage is named Evelyn, but she has never gone by it and goes by Lynn.
We are trying to keep potential names a secret, but if you were us, would you give the aunt a heads up? Ironically she does not like the name which is why she's never used it in full. We would not shorten it to Lynn for our daughter. It would also mean there are two Evelyn "Smith"s in the family. Is that too weird? (Ps last name not actually Smith but you get what I mean).
We think it's probably all fine but I'd love some outside perspective.

I don't think I'd worry about telling her. She's 2 generations removed from your LO and doesn't go by the full name so I doubt she'd be upset by it (and if she were, would you reconsider using the name?). Every family is different of course, though - in mine sharing names is not a big deal at all so I didn't give it a second thought when we chose to give our baby the same first name as one of my cousins.
Another thing to consider is if you tell the aunt, chances are other people will find out the name. If you want to keep the baby's name a secret until she's born, all the more reason to not give a head's up.
ETA also, yay for potentially finding a front runner for the name! I know you guys had been having trouble finding something you both love now... do you still need a middle name, or have you had one picked out?
Re: names?
Either Eli Christian or Noah Christian.
Middle name is set. Christian was my brothers name. He died almost 7 years ago and him and I were super close.

@madelynnschmidt August was on my shortlist. We went with something else but I like it, too
I bet we won't even have a name until she's born.
Serena, Scarlett, or Cecelia
