I bought the Gossamer Wings set a while back, from someone who bought it before it was discontinued; and I plan on using it regardless of gender. i can't wait til we move (beginning of May) and I can start setting up my nursery!!
I'm just doing a mixy/match themre. light gray walls, colored wall where the crib is (light lilac if babes a girl, a blue if a boy) and then getting different patterned fitted sheets. since crib bumpers are a no it doenst really matter. plus i hate all the cartoony animated bedding sets that are out anyways
I was thinking a forest theme that way it's gender neutral (plus if need be we could use the theme for child two). I feel like once my kid gets toddler age I will let them choose a theme for themselves then do a theme change again in middle school.
If it is a girl then the room will be lavender with those wall stickers of a tree and owls. If it's a boy I am leaning towards dark blue and white with anchors and stripes
I love turtles, I'm looking for turtle printed nursery decor but really having no luck. I'm thinking of going to fabric stores and arts and craft stores and doing my own. My Mom and Gram can sew their tails off so thankfully curtains, blankets and what not shouldn't be an issue and if I find stencil of some sort my mom can paint it.
For a girl, Tiffanys blue with white accents and furniture and some fun white classy decals. For a boy, outer space theme, we found some cool whole wall decals with the planets that look super real and close up. Waiting to find out the sex til Mother's Day so we can find out together with my husbands mom and grandma, gonna be a long wait:)
I love Wes Anderson's movies. So something along the lines of Moonrise Kingdom. Off white walls, Baby Letto crib and I have two big paintings of bears on the wall already.
For my son the theme was monkeys. Simply cuz I've always loved them. Not sure what it will be this time around. My friend is doing a forest creatures theme for her sons nursery.
I'm thinking Beatrix Potter / Peter Rabbit. I always loved her stories as a child, and I still have my Peter Rabbit music box. I also think it's gender neutral.
That's so cute! Lots of great ideas! No nursery theme here. I usually just pick colors and do something eclectic. Baby will room in with us for awhile and then share with older siblings when bigger.
My daughters room is sort of a girly hot air balloon theme, if this next one is a girl we won't change it. If next one is a boy, not sure what we're going to do
We're in a real small place, so baby is sharing a room with us, no nursery. My 3 sisters and I were raised by a single Dad and we never had a nursery or anything like that, so I just have that tomboy mentality that says I don't need anything but clothes and diapers and food for baby haha. I'm totally excited to get some cute clothes though!
We are doing a Winnie the Pooh nursery. It's very easy to do gender neutral, plus I found an adorable wall sticker set for 11 bucks on amazon which is cheaper than painting something. And my brother and I had a lot of Winnie the Pooh stuff growing up that is going to be passed down to the baby.
I'm debating between a forest animal theme or a jungle theme. Want pale green walls, tree decals and animals decals for the walls. The hard part is deciding whether to do all this in the guest bedroom and continue to use it dual purpose, or move my daughter in the bigger guest bedroom as a step up and put baby in my daughters current tiny room. If I do that, I have to repaint and decal two rooms though because her current room is purple with totorro theme. I love it too much not to redo it for her if we move her.
We were planning a dark and cozy moon and stars theme -- if you have seen "la voyage dans la lune" it's based around that. But now I think to lighten and brighten up the space we are doing one herringbone wall painted either mint or a deepish grey and modern/clean + tons of color accents! Not really a theme so much as just a feel
It's not really a theme but I'm going for a mod eclectic look. The crib style is mod. So far I have black and white fitted sheets picked out. The walls will probably be grey and maybe with stripes if we paint and the curtains and other accents will depend on if it's a girl or boy most likely not baby blue or pink. Definitely some mint and maybe coral if it's a girl. I like clean but I also like details so that's why I'm going with both. I also like to mix vintage in that's a little more stylistic than mod.
Neutral gray probably with lots of rustic touches. Will maybe add some gender specific accessories but we plan to use the nursery for all of our kids. . Dont want to have to redo it in a couple of years if we have a kid of a different gender
I'm not into themes, so like for my wedding, the theme of this nursery will be things I like! LOL it drives my mom mad, but it's how I roll. Right now I have no idea. I honestly haven't really thought about it yet!
We did a Safari theme with both boys. Our first is a Noah, so we did animals by the twos. And just focused more on jungle animals with the second (used the same crib sheets, etc). I plan to use everything I already have for our BABY GIRL(!) but I'm going to do an Owl theme for anything I do buy. Nana is a big quilter, so I'm sure her baby quilt will reflect the owl theme! So excited to be adding pink & purple to the mix!
Ours is vintage inspired white furniture, lots of watercolor animal paintings (I'm a painter) with some pops of bright color. We have hardwood floors, so I want to find a really cool rug!
We are doing baby animals. My husband is a talented photographer and has quite a few shots for us to choose between from various trips. So far we have ordered canvas prints of mother/baby pictures of elephants and lions in Africa and birds from Ecuador. Color-wise we are thinking yellow and orange. We aren't going to find out the gender, and we are also against "girl" and "boy" specific themes.
We're not finding out the sex, so we're doing a gender-neutral theme with light grey walls and elephant decor. Elephants are just adorable, and it's super easy to find elephant decor these days!
My husband is big time into fishing all his life, both shoreline and out on his boat. So he is dead set on a fishing themed nursery. But he refuses to have a cute ocean and fish theme, he wants it to be realistic. Real looking fish and sea creatures, no cute baby cartoon fish. And he's set on this regardless if we have a boy or girl. Thankfully I have time to try to change his mind. lol!
I'm hoping we find a new house soon so I can do a nursery. I'm thinking of a fox theme due to the sly fox in several fables. I want to include other animals also, but my focus is on that fox!
I'm kind of thinking nautical, but the husband and I both want everything to be mostly green because it's the easiest color on little newborn eyes.
I didn't know that about green, how interesting! We haven't decided yet, but I am leaning more towards doing things with pattern/color rather than animals and stuff.
Re: What's your nursery theme?
I'm going with light blue and teal. Close to gender neutral since we aren't finding out.
Off white walls, Baby Letto crib and I have two big paintings of bears on the wall already.
