I've only bought enough pants to get me through a week and only 1 maternity shirt thus far and it was actually free with the pants purchase. I can still wear some of my stretchy or flowy shirts still or I wear an open cardigan over a stretchy tshirt/tank. I also refuse to buy a winter coat even though mine is just about busting at the seams now. My husband and mom basically forced me to buy maternity undies this weekend, lol. They fit a little better but I still don't think they were worth it. I'm just wondering how I'll feel when I'm closer to 9 months. Hoping I can continue to get away with not buying anymore shirts! The pants are pretty comfy so I can see myself wearing them post-baby. What are you all doing?
Re: Anyone else really stubborn about buying maternity clothes?
2 pairs black pants (maternity)
1 pair dark wash skinny jeans (maternity)
1 pair dark wash boot cut jeans (maternity)
4 cardigans: tan/oatmeal color, black, cream, burgundy (not maternity, just what I had)
5 tanks: black and white stripe, 2 black, charcoal, white (mostly regular old Navy but a size up)
a burgundy maternity blouse
2 dresses that aren't maternity but are knit and work well so far with tights and boots (one black and one charcoal grey)
1 pair maternity tights
3 long sleeve fitted maternity t-shirts (navy and white stripe, mint, and white from target)
My bras are still the same, not much change in size over here
I am a hanky panky thongs girl so those stretch quite a bit and I haven't had any fit or comfort issues there either.
So everything goes together cohesive and I can mix and match pretty much everything... I do laundry more often but I don't mind and I have just a few pieces that transition to many different occasions...
I hope that helps!
Edited to add that pants were from motherhood maternity and aside from a few tanks from old Navy everything was from my closet or liz lange maternity for target and the quality has been great, I spent under $200 total (pants were on sale to be fair) and have not felt the need to further supplement my wardrobe so far except maybe to get a pretty dress or peice for my shower
Then comes marriage = July 19th, 2014
Then comes baby = May 19th 2015

I'm refusing to spend anymore money on maternity clothes. Unless it's on a super sale. I figure I'll buy myself something cute for the baby shower and that's it.
Although my husband is trying to force me into buying underwear that actually fit. And to stop wearing his clothes Hahaha
Trousers are getting a little tight around the waist though now at 30w!!!
I have 5 dress pants, 1 for spring weight, 4 for winter. I bought a pair of leggings/tights to wear underneath for this extreme cold.
I have 6 light weight tops, 2 sleeping bras and 5 tanks because I layer everything.
My coat is a regular long black fitted/flared wool overcoat that somehow is great at fitting on top and flaring over the bump.
Everything else I wear are long stretchy tops that are tunic length which I pair with jackets that I leave unbuttoned.
My husband gave me a gift certificate for V-Day to buy a fancy outfit for the shower. I can't wear any pre-preg pants. The pressure even below the bump hurts.
If I need any more clothes before the end I will get them on eBay.
I guess I'd rather wreck my regular clothes and spend money to replace those than buy short-term stuff!

And frankly, I'm all belly and the rest of me is still about the same, so regular shirts in a larger size just look sloppy on me.
I bought a bunch of maternity stuff at a consignment store that was having a half off sale. I spent $50 and basically got a wardrobe. My friend buys and sells used kids clothes on ThredUp.com and I know they have maternity, too.
Seriously though, doing laundry every few days. The pants situation is the worst!
