8 weeks in, anyone have a bump yet?

I'm not sure if it's the crazy amount of weight I've gained, bloating, or a baby bump, but I have a wee paunch now where there wasn't one before... Bump-havers: when did yours show up?

  • With DD, mine didn't show up until sometime between 17-20 weeks. I wore maternity pants earlier than that though because normal pants bothered my abdomen and stretchy waste bands felt good! Everyone will show at different times. I have a friend who popped around 10 weeks, too.

  • I have a bump but I'm sure it's just the bloat..I'm almost 8 weeks so I know it's too soon to even say I'm showing lol
  • With my first I started showing around 6 months. I'm not showing yet this time around and don't expect to for awhile.

  • definately bloated here. I can lean back and it goes away. I'm sure that won't be the case with the real bump :)

  • This is my second and my pants are starting to not fit at the waste. I am 8 weeks 2 days and only gained like 1 lb. I think maybe the 2nd time it pops out a little faster. I think I was about 12 last time tho.
  • I can keep wearing normal pants! phew. thanks guys
  • I have a bump and it's not bloat or poop. I have lost weight and I don't have constipation. Yes I feel silly but I am showing, I don't think you can just say it's bloating as not everyone is the same.

Your baby is the size of a kidney bean. I'm almost positive you're not showing yet.
  • Bloated, 6w, and this is baby number 3, so I'm just hoping to make it to 10 weeks before popping on the maternity jeans... Loving my pajamas ;-)

  • It's not physically impossible. I have been told by my doctor that my uterus is a lot higher than normal and is no longer behind my pelvic bone. Like I said everyone is different.

I think you are full of poop.
  • I definitely have a bloat/constipation bump. I'm 7w 5d, and still fitting just fine into my smallest pair of jeans, but there's an obvious pooch (which pushes my fat over my waistband, gross!). I am eagerly looking forward to having a "real" bump so people aren't just wondering if I've been overdoing the donuts lately.

  • Why so rude?

Even if it's just bloat now, it's there to stay (and grow). Bloat today, baby tomorrow.

I'm already pulling out the maternity jeans because comfort.

I don't think anyone was being rude. Just stating facts.

This I meant to be for support, not to say who is wrong or right. Everyone is different! If you want to belive it is your baby bump then don't let others tell you it is not... baby #5 on the way and each time it's been a completely different pregnancy. Love your body the way it is and will be...

rdeloera: I agree with you 110%!!
  • I'm a very petite person...so my bloat and constipation is def showing as a nice little "bump"

No. This isn't the land of pretend. This is a place to educate ourselves and others with factual information. It is a fact that it is not possible to be showing a "baby bump" this early on. You can not see something the size of a blueberry/kidney bean/grape/whatever inside of your uterus. Think about that and get back to us.
Telling someone they're full of bologna and full of poop isn't "educational" - it's unnecessary and yes, it is rude.
Those are also likely to be facts.

This is my first pregnancy and I'm very new to all of this. I thought maybe being part of a birth club like this would be a great outlet for support and advice but all you all have proved to me is that I can't share a question or a concern or an exciting milestone without the possibility of some rude woman kicking dirt all over me. I know not to waste my time here. So for that, I thank you.

Don't let some trolls/pregnant trolls scare you away. Everyone has an opinion on something. There are some great women on here that will give some good advice.
  • Oh the bloating!! Sometimes I feel like if I attach a string to my belly I'll float away
  • While I do understand what you are saying, name calling is completely childish, and is the furthest thing from being educational. And that is also a fact.
  • Agreed! As much as this place is for education, it is also for support. Forget the negativity and just celebrate your baby-to-be. :)
  • Unreal 3rd baby bloat here

Name calling? Can you quote where there was name calling?
