Hi. I'm new. I will most likely be reading 90% of the time, but wanted to say hello.
Here is a question to kick off my membership to this forum, though:
When charting temp, can I use an ear thermometer? Does it even matter as long as I'm consistent? Am I an idiot (oh, God, please don't answer this question)?
Thanks for reading. And from what I've read so far, the first rule in Fight Club is *actually* to not ask if you're in Fight Club. Got it!

So the only reason you still hang around here is to watch other people get talked to rudely? I wonder what kind of insecurities makes it fun to watch others suffer.
Careful. I got warned for this. 8-|
@Avdds, is that what I said? I said I enjoy sarcasm and I keep my screen name here because there are VERY FEW, but still a few ladies left who will tell it like it is and not paint everything with sparkles. Are you suffering here, seriously? Seems a bit extreme. I'm not insecure, I just appreciate when people don't use others like their own personal Google.
Sorry, TD, is that a violation too? My apologies.
Why would you be scared to post? These are some of the most amazing women that go above and beyond to help answer questions and give great advice!! I've seen posts where they've helped newbies interpret temp charts as well as offered all the support in the world to newbies who have concerns but aren't asking asinine questions.
Nope, put there because I'm a lurker. A friend of mine is TTC so I keep up with this board to see if she joined.
I am glad I lurked first because I see how the asinine questions are answered.
We have to be pros at temping and charting and have no business posting here unless we know all these things or get assaulted with "snark" and intelligence insulted.
I'm sorry but that is what it looks like to a noob.
There is no need to be a pro, and being new and getting your questions answered is what this board is for. Asking if you are pregnant based on certain symptoms etc doesn't fly. As long as you are putting in more effort than using a period tracker, having a good idea about when you actually ovulated, based on opk's, or temping is a great start! Get yourself a bbt thermometer. I paid like 12 bucks for mine at the drug store. They are worth it to get your temperature broken down into small enough increments that you can see the changes. This is my first month temping and have had a lot of questions along the way to which I received great advice. (And the newbie blog mentioned doesn't exist anymore. It went when they banned a lot of the users, which is unfortunate as both the blog and those ladies held a lot of useful info). I wish you the best of luck on your ttc journey Edited for bad wording

Well said! Quoting in case they decide to delete you for whatever ungodly reason. Because, you know, The Bump.
