Middle name for Dalia

We're pretty set on Dalia for a first name. Our last name is 3 syllables, starting with a consonant and ending in 'a', so we don't want the middle name to end in 'a'. We'd like the middle name to start with 'E' to honor a family member.

So far we're considering:

Elise

Eden

Esther

Any thoughts among those or other suggestions? Thanks!

Dahlia is a lovely name. Is there a reason you've changed the spelling and dropped the "h"?

I haven't changed the spelling. It's an alternative. The background/meaning is different.

Since both Dalia and your last name have 3 syllables, have you considered any short one-syllable middle names?

I agree with this. Dalia Eve is nice. You could also go longer, like Dalia Elizabeth. I'm just not usually a fan of each name being three syllables...but you can definitely make it work. Good luck!

Funny, I never thought of Dalia as having 3 syllables. It always sounds like 2 to me.

Dalia Elise is actually DH's favorite so maybe we'll do that.

I also like the idea of a 1 syllable name, but we don't like Elle and can't use Eve.

I think it might be a regional or generational thing. I would say it Dahl-yuh, but I know some people would say Dahl-ee-uh

Yeah, I say it Dahl-ee-uh. But Dahl-yuh sounds equally nice to me!

Dalia is actually the preferred spelling in both Jewish and Latino cultures, of which we are both.

My mother in laws name is dalia (also if Latin decent) I think it's lovely. Eden goes great with it!
