Stupid question sunday

Re: Stupid question sunday

  • I got the A&A swaddles foe DD1's baby shower, she loves them! most of them have holes in them now, at 3 years old, she always has one with her! I bought a cheaper version for DD2 from Burlington Coat Factory/ Baby Depot. Like 1/2 the price but feels the same! Also if you check TJ Maxx or Marshalls often enough you might get lucky, I've found A&A stuff there for a little less.

  • Pumping doesn't hurt as much as nursing, but it's still awkward and uncomfortable, also it isn't as effective as nursing so often doesn't completely empty the breasts.  Definitely doesn't cause the sore nipple problems nursing does because with the correct breast shield, your nipple doesn't rub on it.

As far as bottles go, I'd recommend getting a few of the kind you think you want to try.  See if baby goes for it.  If not, buy something else.  I know I ended up getting a bunch of different kinds at my baby shower.  Only open one box at a time until you find one that works for you and baby and return the rest that aren't opened.  I also did this with pacifiers if you happen to choose to use them.

Baby clothes, I always washed in Tide original.  DD didn't have any sensitivity so it was a lot easier to wash her clothes in what we were washing ours in.  We also used fabric softener sheets with no problems.

I'd advise not washing a lot of the newborn size clothes ahead of time though.  Many babies never fit in newborn and once you wash it you can't return it.  Wash a few if you want, then if baby is too big and goes into 0-3 right away, you can still return some of them.

I don't know about A&A swaddles, but I'm absolutely buying more of the velcro swaddles.  They were SO much easier to swaddle with than just trying to fold that blanket around a wiggling baby.  I also have the wearable blankets which are pretty helpful since it will be cool and you can't put blankets in the crib.

Not always. I had cracked and bleeding nipples and my flanges fit fine (had them checked by a LC). It's one of those "depends on the woman" type things
