I am not on here much anymore, but wanted to check on you. So sorry to see such a scary post but glad the updates are all good! Sending so many warm thoughts for more positive updates! You have been a fierce mama warrior so far, and those babies are doing so well with the crappy fluid leak. Hopefully they keep cooking! I can't believe how close you are getting to the 30w mark!
Just waiting on my MFM for today's u/s. It's usually earlier in the morning, but for all I know my MFM had an emergency delivery today. It's not like I'm going anywhere, so anytime today is fine with me.
In other news, my PPROM roommate probably started labor this morning. She made it to 32+ weeks, & has had 2 courses of steroids, plus magnesium, and she's done so well up to this point. So, FX and T&P to my 5th & so far, favorite roommate that everything turns out ok. They've moved her off to a labor room down the hall. The last few nights we've heard women screaming between 3-4 am, so, I gave her permission to scream her head off if needed. Asking for good internet vibes for Kayla & her LO.

I had my ultrasound today, and things are very much as they've been. Baby B (the girl) has a good amount of fluid around her. Baby A (the boy) has very little fluid around him, with no measurable pockets, but he seems to be doing ok despite this. The blood flow ratio for both placentas is in a good and normal range.
I continue to leak fluid, and its been pink for most of the day, but it seems that both the amount of fluid, and the amount of blood is decreasing. As of a few minutes ago, there was very little pink when I used the bathroom.
I've been on the toco monitors following babies' heartbeats and checking for contractions this afternoon and again tonight for an hour each time, and the heartbeats seem good, and no contractions have been picked up on the monitor since early Saturday morning.
It looks like things have stabilized again, which is reassuring, especially since a big snowstorm is predicted for the next few days.
Final update: My roommate had her baby within 3 hours of moving to a labor room. First her mother came by with an update, and later her father brought her by in a wheel chair. Both mother and baby are doing well. Her boy was born 4lbs 1oz, and is already breathing on his own. He went straight to the NICU, and is doing well.
Yay for having things stabilize with you. I'm sorry you have lost yet another good roommate. Hopefully your next one will be even more wonderful.
Congrats to your old roomie on her baby. One of mine was 4lbs 1oz. At 3 months she's doing great. She had 1 month NICU time and also wasn't on breathing support. I bet he will thrive in the NICU and will be home soon.

I am so so late to this thread since I haven't been checking over here as much, but wow, what a rollercoaster these past couple days have been for you! I am so glad your ultrasound showed the little ones are still hanging out in there and growing and growing. Congrats to your roommate-- that'll be you welcoming your babies after many more weeks.

She did *not* scream Her dad brought her by in a wheelchair later in the day, & she said she got her epidural right away (a decision she may have made as we were listening to the screamers last week). 10 pushes later, she had her little boy.
I just found out that roommate #6 is moving in tonight. Am I a horribly selfish person for having hoped that the snow storm would keep people away, and buy me one more day of my own room? (Yeah, maybe I am, a little). It's just been a while since I've gone a full day in my own room. At least I got one overnight by myself last night. Ohs well. I hope she's as nice as #5 was.
Oy! I've got a roommate plus her SO for the night. I'm assuming he's staying over because of the storm, and he'll be going home tomorrow night if the snow stops.
That poor guy is not going to be comfortable in this little room. Also, this is more awkward for me than I expected.
I don't know why I get so much anxiety over every new roommate. *sigh* I've got to learn to relax about these things. If I'm going to keep my babies cooking until 34 weeks, I'm just going to need to learn to deal.

With them knowing you are going to be there a while, why wouldn't they put someone there who is also in bed rest for the long haul? Just something I was wondering...although if you don't like them, that would suck to be stuck with them for the long haul. Ugh to the revolving door of roommates. That would annoy me too. Part of the reason I became an RA in college is so I could have my own room - so I am 100% with you on this.

The snoring would drive me nuts - maybe try downloading a white noise app? Those work pretty well and several are free (I have the one by tmsoft - pretty sure that one is free - never needed to buy anything addl)
Not selfish at all! I'm terrible at meeting new people and it's not like you can go very far. Do you have any earplugs? I'm addicted to mine bc DH is a heavy snorer. I realize I have to give them up when the baby arrives, but for now I love them. Good call on your roomie #5's part. I'd go for the epidural too

You are absolutely right! That's the best way to think about it. But, that doesn't stop me from being happy that snore-gate is over. Roommie #6 got moved to her own room. She slept most of the day too, because I think the magnesium she was getting just knocked her out - so you have to have sympathy for her - but I'm also happy to regain some quiet.
I don't think that L&D and antepartum were full last night - I think they doubled up because of the storm. I'm not sure if it was because they weren't quite fully staffed, and they wanted to make it easier for staff by keeping patients together, or if staff were sleeping in the empty beds, because I know there were people staying over (other than just the people who work the overnights).
Anywho, roommie #6 and I each get our own rooms today. So, I don't need to learn to share - at least not tonight.
In an ironic twist, I have a 4 bedroom house, but I'm totally planning on rooming the twins together for at least several years. I do not practice what I preach, as it turns out, and those kiddies are going to learn to share and love it (I hope).

I did place an order on Amazon for Poo Pourri, for my next roommate. Because, in addition to regular pregnancy constipation, I get psychologically too shy to poop when I'm sharing a bathroom.
I'm hoping that having the poo pourri will relieve enough of my anti-poop anxiety to free me, so to speak.

Here with some lurker love! You are one of the reasons I sign on to TB these days. And I am horrified that you have a roomie at all! How are you supposed to rest with strangers snoring next to you? Also, I'm quite sure this means that you know all of each other's medical concerns. It reminds me of the surgical suite at the RE...when you leave knowing how many eggs all the other ladies retrieved. I also learned that none of the sperm were moving in the sample provided by the couple next to me. He admitted using lube and had to "try again." She took the news well....much better than I would have. Anyhow, welcome to 27 weeks!

The hospital where I originally planned to deliver had individual suites for L&D and another set for maternity. Each suite had a loveseat that converted to a bed for your partner.
I think this hospital also has individual rooms for labor, but right now, even though I'm in L&D/Maternity (all the rooms are together here), I'm in an antepartum room. They are set up as doubles, but I think they try to keep patients single when they can. I think they've just been unusually busy. The other day they discharged 8 new mothers and admitted 10.
I know they also try to keep maternity to a single mother with her baby(ies), but they were so full last week, the room next to me had two mothers and two babies, which, of course isn't ideal. I was worried about this at first - what would it be like sharing a room with my 2 babies plus another woman and her baby? And then I realized, my babies are going straight to NICU, so my original concern seemed silly.
In addition to being one of a handful of hospitals in the area with a high level NICU, its also the regional trauma center, and the cardiac surgery center. So, a lot of their patients are referred here from other hospitals, and they seldom go on divert.
It looks like the busy period slowed down, and I'm back to my own room for now.

Congrats to your old roomie on her baby. One of mine was 4lbs 1oz. At 3 months she's doing great. She had 1 month NICU time and also wasn't on breathing support. I bet he will thrive in the NICU and will be home soon.

Her dad brought her by in a wheelchair later in the day, & she said she got her epidural right away (a decision she may have made as we were listening to the screamers last week). 10 pushes later, she had her little boy.
I just found out that roommate #6 is moving in tonight. Am I a horribly selfish person for having hoped that the snow storm would keep people away, and buy me one more day of my own room? (Yeah, maybe I am, a little). It's just been a while since I've gone a full day in my own room. At least I got one overnight by myself last night. Ohs well. I hope she's as nice as #5 was.
