How many kids....

Would you have if money and fertility was no object?

I saw this on another BMB and it looked fun...and I'm board.

I would have 6-7 the hardest thing for me would be what would I drive!!

  • Before I ever got the BFP, we talked about 4 or 5. Now, I really don't know if I'm going to do this again... But we'll see.

  • 4 would be perfect for us!
  • 2 and then I'm done. Two is the magic number for both of us!
  • Keep in mind every pregnancy is different and God has a way of making you forget the awful parts of it when you meet your baby!!

We would like at least 3, maybe 4. But this pregnancy has been much harder than the last so we will just have to see.

Even in a fantasy I don't think I could handle more than 4!

  • I would have 4. I'm one of 6 but us 4 girls grew up together then the next two came with a big 8 year gap between me and my brother. 4 just seems great for a party. Kids can pair up and you dont get the middle child.

  • MH has five and I'm working on #2. So seven is a good stopping point I think.
  • We both want 3, but I've been thinking about 4 more since having DS!
  • In a perfect world: 5 kids. In real life we're going to try for 2 or 3.

We are 2 and through. We want to play man on man...not zone.

    This.

When I was younger, I wanted 4-5 but I didn't have my first until I was 35 so we are going to quit at 2.

    • BFP #4 - 9/28/2014 - EDD 6/4/2015 - DS Born 5/31/2015

  • We agreed on 2 at the most. But I don't know if I want to go through this again. We'll see!
  • This is #3 and I think I might be done. DH would like 4 and he may convince me as long as I never have to drive a minivan.
  • I want to be done having kids when I'm 30 (I'll be 25 when baby #1 is born in June). Maybe 31-32 if we don't feel quite done, but I like the idea of having all the kids out of the house/college/payroll when I'm early 50s.

That means we've got 5ish years to crank out more kids...so 3 will probably be our magic number. We always said more than 1 and less than 6, so 3 works out well.

We'll see how I feel after #1 though. "The best-laid schemes o' mice an' men..."

  • My boyfriend wants like 6, but this pregnancy has been horrid with all the ms that I had. This pregnancy is my permanent birth control.

  • Three is our absolute max. Even if we were living in the lap of luxury, I don't know how we'd handle more than that!

  • I grew up an only child and always hated being alone. Always wanted at least 2. Now with being 33 and pregnant with #1, who knows, hopefully can still have at least 2

This is a really good point. I'd definitely adopt an extra if all the hurdles/financial burden were non-existent.

  • I think 3-4 for us... Mayyyybe 5. For us it depends on how close out children end up being, because we have a goal age (like my age) that we want to be "done".
  • 3-4 maybe? My SO always jokes we have to "beat" his sister who has 4 kids.
  • 4 if I could give birth to 3 year olds. I mean I love the whole infant toddler stage but it's freaking exhausting... Or maybe if I didn't give birth to little insomniac
  • This is 2, we're thinking maybe one more after. We also like the idea of adopting, so we might have one more and adopt a 4th later in life... Or be done after 2 and adopt a 3rd sometime in the future.

  • I've always wanted 2. DS has been a challenging child so for awhile there my husband wouldn't agree to a second. Finances and all that jazz aside, I really don't think we could handle more than two, especially if this next one is anything like our first.

  • Started late. One and done.....MAYBE 2 Max.
  • Before we had kids, DH and I decided to have one at a time and go from there whether or not we want more. Considering how indesicive we both are in general, it's worked out pretty well that way. :)

  • This is 4 for us, and we are done. I'm going to be 38 when this one is born, though. If life had been different , I might have had more :)
  • I would love 4 but with my history, I am lucky too be having 2. My body and pregnancy do not get along :(
  • I would have 4. This is our third and I would love one more but DH says NOPE! (Maybe once we get out of the baby stage for longer than 2 years he will miss it and we may have another.. You never know)

  • I'd love 4-6. A few of my own, and a few adopted.

Realistically, I think we'll have 1-2 of our own and then adopt 1 more.

  • As many as God gives us! If it's just the one, that's fine. If it's 10, that's fine too. I was the oldest of 6 and I loved being a part of a big family, but I appreciate how much more affordable 1 would be. Guess we'll just have to wait and see! :)

  • I like the idea of no more than 2.
  • 2. I don't want an only child, I know that. On the opposite end of the spectrum, I grew up as one of 5 kids, and there was never enough time/attention/money to go around. So I know I don't want to continue that cycle. I think 2 is perfect - you can each take one and give them lots of attention but if you need to you can easily wrangle two on your own.

  • This is #3. We are done this pregnancy has been much harder than previous pregnancies. So if this were fantasy land where money was no issue and I could have a perfect pregnancy with no pain we would have 4-5. We already have a mini van so they would all fit
  • 4 at the most....we are currently on #4! ;):D ;;)

  • We are done at 3. And that is why I'm getting my tubes tied after my c-section.
  • Even if money weren't an issue, I like my house and don't want to move, so I wouldn't want more than three so they can each have their own bedroom. Besides, they already start to outnumber you at three. Once you get to four and beyond, I'd be worried about them plotting a revolution.
