After a few months of just reading posts and adding some comments, I thought I would introduce myself. I'm a newlywed that found out on my honeymoon that we're expecting our first child. I'm due May 20. I'm a Vermont beer snob that lives with my husband and my overly spoiled dog, Mclovin. I like to go to concerts, festivals, camping, and beerfests. I love me some fabulous food.
I tried searching and forgive me if this has been done, but what do you all do for work? I know some have made comments about your job in particular and after someone said "some of us work 5-7 days a week" it got me wondering. Maybe it's the total New Englander in me, but it's about the first question you ask someone when you meet them. I think you can learn a lot about a person with the profession they've chosen.
As for me, I work as a CSR at a hospital as I am getting my master's in education with a TESOL focus. Before going back to school, I was a Peace Corps volunteer for three years in Cambodia.
Nice to meet you all and I just want to say as a newbie, I never felt like regs were nasty...but perhaps a little too in love with the name Sabriel.
Re: Intro/What do you do for work?
Ps- I'm from Asheville, NC current holder of the Beer City in the US title
I work in Labour and Delivery (so yeah, relevant!). I live in Canada, but I worked in Texas for a year and a half as well, so I get the system down there as well.
BABY NINJA!
@SassyPants150 it's a little scary. I'm going to deliver in the middle of my last semester. Then I have to do a 15 week unpaid internship. There's nothing settling about both parents working full-time with an infant on one income.
@stratto814 -yay Vermont!! We're an odd breed up here.
Im a social worker/service coordinator in a HUD senior apartment complex slash assisted living.
I read that you were a doula (Even if not currently practicing) in the old thread. How exciting. My DH and I are starting to discuss if we want a doula and looking into our local options.
I work at Apple, specifically in leadership at a retail store. It's very empowering and I learn so much every day. Never imagined I'd be here so long, but have no plans on leaving. Hubby used to work at Apple (6 years as a trainer), still works as a Mac tech/trainer for a small biz, and is excited to be a SAHD when LO arrives.
Anyone else's hubbies plan to stay home with baby?
@kgnordman Welcome!
I am in Mass and love to travel to Vermont just for the beer.
I am currently a Program Manager Coordinator for a company that does contract work for the government.

IT'S A GIRL
@pinkbarebear - that's funny. Craft beer/organic food places are our fave! As for beer, I love a double IPA. We actually had a heady topper wedding and toasted with beer instead of champagne. I also love pumpkin everything, so I love pumpkin beer.
My BFP Chart
With that being said and if I was being honest, the beer my family drinks depends on how close it is to pay day. If it's pay day, we're drinking only craft beers and getting growlers. If it's a few days before pay day we're like "I love me some PBR!!"
