I went to my wic appointment at 12 only to be told I didn't have an appointment.. Hmmm? Really, cause I called and scheduled it last week.. so I showed them my call log to verify I called the right place(I did) and they still couldn't be bothered to see me. Why the hell would I drag newborn baby out in the freezing temps if I didn't have an appointment?
Wic is a bunch of assholes.
AHH! That would seriously piss me off. I did my first shopping trip with my WIC checks last week, pretty sure it took my mom and I two hours to pick out everything using the little booklet and still when we got to the register they said my OJ and tortilla shells were the wrong ones.
@megan81112
Where are you from?
WIC is where I was yesterday for 2 HOURS!! Just for B. There are two ladies that work in my county one I love the other one I can't stand and she's who I got yesterday. Put down formula feeding and thinks she knows everything and poops sprinkles and farts perfume. Oh and being a third time mom I don't know anything. They seem to have a few problems.
Philly. They were trying to tell me my main office was the one I went to with my daughter 8 years ago. Why would I call and make an appointment at an office I would have to take 2 buses to get to? I live less than a block away from this one. It was so frustrating. The guy I saw asked me if I was breast or formula and I told him formula. He gave me 2 cans to "hold me over" until they can see me. I I can't wait to go back next week with my appointment printout to shove in the ladies faces. And my appointment is early enough that I can bring my big, angry husband. A fun time will be had by all!

I don't think I've ever dealt with a WIC employee who didn't have a huge stick up their ass. They all have terrible attitudes. And the booklet for shopping is awful. I haven't used it in years, but I doubt they've improved since then..
Thanks, everyone, for the congrats! I thought I'd probably have a quick labor because DS was 6 hours, but this was even quicker than I thought. Two hours and nine minutes from when my water broke to baby. I'm glad we made it to the hospital. I was terrified of giving birth without an epidural, but it was over quickly, and I only had a first degree tear. Don't hate me!
We are relaxing at the hospital now. The food is bland. We still haven't decided on a name for the baby (Gavin or Isaiah maybe), and the Seinfeld episode just came on where George is all about the name "Seven." Ha ha.
Please just name him Hodor.
I'm so determined to get someone to use Hodor as their baby's name.. I totally dropped the ball naming my kid. Jude... Ugh what was I thinking??!!
My doctor appointment went well. I progressed from 2cm this morning to 3cm this afternoon. My contractions started again on my way home but they're not close enough to go to L&D. I hope Baby Boy makes his debut soon!
My SIL is still having contractions too. We are giving birth at the same hospital so if things continue to progress for us we could be there at the same time.
My hospital called tonight to inform me that nobody under the age of 16 will be permitted in the maternity ward, not even siblings. Sad that my five year old won't be able to come meet his little sister right away, he is the most excited of anybody and asks me every morning if this is the day that I go to the doctor to get the baby out of my belly.

Im so sorry is it because of the flu or what??
Yep, to prevent flu. They had it restricted to age 13 when I was there having my first, but it didn't really affect me then since he didn't have any siblings. Having him come in to see her really would've been one of the highlights of my stay. I guess I will be on a mission to get discharged asap instead of trying to milk it out and enjoying having food brought to me in bed.
@kmf218 I hope you're in labor, but just as a data point for you...I have had contractions triggered when I'm constipated. Poop contractions? They hurt and they hang around until I can finally have a BM. I recommend taking a colace, upping your water and fiber intake and seeing if you can poop.
------------
Thanks for the advice! I ate 3 pears (they usually make me go) and drank a ridiculous amount of water and prune juice (eww!). I have some colace but it irritates my throat so I wanted to try and see if I could get things moving without it. This is TMI but I had one of the most painful BMs in my life! I felt a little relief after but I also had more pain about 20 minutes after. So either I'm really contracting or I still have some stuff left to get out. I really hope I'm contracting though. The idea of getting to meet my baby girl is the only thing getting me through this pain.
So had ob appointment today ... ended up doing non stress test which came back great. Started noticing contractions throughout day and definitely some bleeding from cervix exam too which was quite painful. Since this evening noticing I'm still bleeding but think maybe mucus plug or maybe just result of being further along and exam. Still contractions getting a bit stronger but not super painful. As a FTM I'm not totally convinced it's the real deal but. ..... who knows.

Fx for you! I've had that stupid rabbit poop problem and tonight had a similar poop issue but no contractions. In my lamaze class they said to go to the hospital when your contractions are 4 min apart for one minute in duration over the course of an hour for ftms, so that might give you reason to relax a bit, when ds was born I waited from about 3:30 am until 9 am at home, went to the hospital and still didn't deliver until 7:43 pm, so you should have plenty of time as a ftm, nowfor stm my cnm recommended going in at contractions every 10 min.

Believe me I'm trying! I've been having contractions all day but they're about 15 minutes apart.
Hope all goes well for you!
