We announced when my husbands daughter (my stepdaughter) flew in for Christmas. I wrote on DS shirt " little she or little he... We can't want to see mamas due August 2015!" As she came to hug her 5 month old brother she read his shirt and freaked out:) we filmed her reaction and uploaded it to YouTube for our family on the Main land to watch. Everyone watched her arrive and then got an extra special announcement:)
I haven't decided if I want to announce it on FB at 12 weeks (a little over a week away) or how I want to tell my friends. The "group" I hung out with for so long are all still single and like to go out a lot and we don't see them much anymore. I know they'll be happy for us but in general I don't think they'll be too excited. A FB announcement would make it easier, but they may be a bit put-off to not find out in person.
I want to do a family picture with a sign that says "For this child, we have prayed" However, I love the Valentine's ideas! I was going to post this weekend on FB since we had an ultrasound on Thursday, but then I had bleeding last night. Even though the ultrasound was good at the ER, I think we will be waiting probably another month and see how things go.
My 20th high school reunion is this spring and I think I am going to go to that and just show up obviously pregnant! Maybe I will post pics of that for the others on FB that I haven't seen IRL.

I would rather tell people over the phone or via FaceTime.
But, I also want to be able to have control over how people find out, and I would rather post my own announcement on social media rather than get outed, which is bound to happen.
This is a conundrum.
One thing I do know is that when my due date approaches, I'm shutting down my FB wall entirely. I just saw my DH's aunt post all the details of her nephew's baby on his FB wall before he had a chance to announce himself. This is such repulsive "Hey everybody, I heard the news first, nah-na-nah-na-boo-boo."

I'm thinking of taking a picture with all 3 of my dogs sitting by the ultrasound and saying something like "adding another one to our pack" but I don't want people to get overly sensitive like I'm calling my baby a dog. Any ideas how to include all 3 dogs?
i think this is a cute idea. who cares what other people think? start getting used to ignoring their opinions :-D
We took a picture of DH and I reading DS a book titled, "I'm a Big Brother". We will just post that. I wanted to do a cute vday one l, but I'm impatient. Lol. So we'll post that after my u/s.
Were big red Sox fans, so I'm planning to do a pic of dh's hat, my hat, and an infant hat. Waiting until at least 13 wks though
That's a really cute idea!! If we have a boy, I'm hoping for a baseball themed shower because we're big Brewers' fans but that is an awesome idea for an announcement.
My husband held too bags of Ice, I held my ultrasound pic over my tummy, and our son held a sign that said " I'm being promoted to Big brother August 2015. So when you look at the picture is says "ice ice baby” with our son holding his sign with a shocked look on his face!!!! We love old school music so it fit us perfect!!!! I'd post the pic but we don't have them back yet !!
So we knew full well that my mother couldn't keep a secret for much longer. And since we had already told immediate family and close friends we went ahead and posted once we heard heartbeat and got to see our little peanut. I blacked out our last name to post here. But the idea was one pic from us dating, one from our wedding and then baby.

August '15 Siggy Challenge: Favorite tv/movie mean girl
I posted this already once, but I love the way my announcement turned out. We posted it New Year's Day. I found this on Etsy under "PersonalizedChalk" she also is on face book with the same screen name. I placed my order and she had the JPEG sent to my email the same day for $10. I then had it printed at a local print shop for $13.
We decided that we're going to post a picture on my husband's birthday of him holding up a girl and boy onesie and say "Happy birthday daddy but which one will we need? We'll find out in August!" We'll wait longer than we were originally thinking, which will drive my MIL crazy, but I think it's a cute way to do it. I'll be 15w.
My husband is a musician and has a gajillion friends on FB. We haven't decided how or if we're going to announce it on there.
Depending on what he does (drums, vocals, guitar) IF It's that type of musician. Take a photo of say his drum set in the background and get a toy drum to set in front of it. You could write "Baby N's drums" or Daddys new front man. Something musically related. Or something that looks like a gig poster. Just an idea to share!
I'm thinking of taking a picture with all 3 of my dogs sitting by the ultrasound and saying something like "adding another one to our pack" but I don't want people to get overly sensitive like I'm calling my baby a dog. Any ideas how to include all 3 dogs?
I'm trying use ours, and I'm leaning towards 'daddy's boy', 'momma's boy', and 'I get the new one'
We have 2 spoiled pups. I was going to make a sign for each pup. Our oldest will have a sign that says "roses are red, violets are blue" and our youngest's sign will say "he's a big brother, now I will be too!". We got a cute pair of gender - neutral baby shoes to put between them and will caption it with "Baby H due August 2015." You might be able to make thay work for 3?
My dad announced my first pregnancy on Facebook before I did. I was pretty pissed about that. Thus far I had only told my family and closest friends.
This time I will probably announce after our NT scan when we get a better ultrasound picture than just the little peanut. I think I might do the shoe thing with the ultrasound in the baby shoes. Or have DD hold up the ultrasound over my tummy.
I need ideas of announcing baby #7. I wanna do something with the 6 kids, 4 of them are mine and I have 2 step daughters. I can't think of anything.
Maybe just a group shot with tr middle one holding an ultrasound. You could even make a sign or just caption it with something cute like "7th Heaven!" Or "lucky #7!"
I thought I would just updated with what I finally decided to do. I'm stupid excited about this! I have literally no art ability, my handwriting sucks and I'm not very creative so the fact I pulled this off is a miracle to me! I'm planning on posting this to FB on Sunday. I may be more excited to show off my chalkboard than the fact that I'm telling people I'm pregnant.
I posted this already once, but I love the way my announcement turned out. We posted it New Year's Day. I found this on Etsy under "PersonalizedChalk" she also is on face book with the same screen name. I placed my order and she had the JPEG sent to my email the same day for $10. I totally used this for inspiration for my chalkboard pregnancy tracker a few weeks ago! Thanks, lol!
We announced to our parents and siblings on Christmas. We pretended to take a family picture (the camera was taking video instead) then I said "say Chelsea's pregnant". It is awesome to have everyone's reactions on video. To announce to everyone else we have a pretty good idea but nothing set in stone yet.
We are posting this (custom chalkboard jpg/pdf from etsy!) to social media on Valentine's Day. I will be 12 weeks on February 11th! Family, close friends, my boss, and a few co workers already know.
We are big Florida Gator fans, so when I was pregnant with DD, we posted a picture of this sign in our yard. For baby #2 we posted a picture of our daughter holding the very same sign we used to announce her!
We're doing a picture of my dog, holding up a sign that says "my parents are getting me a human!" with chuck taylors for each of us sitting in front. I found a tiny pair of chucks for a newborn that I got that already matched mine.
I have a guy on Fiverr.com custom making me what I think will be an amazing sixty second infographic video with "our story" ending with the announcement of baby coming in August! We will be announcing on FB on Valentine's Day, around 15-16 weeks for me. This will be right after second appointment. We will be telling close friends a couple days before, probably. Already told our immediate families. Good luck with announcements!!
Ooh! I love all these. DH and I are still trying to figure out. We have NT next week and I'll be 12 weeks so we are planning to announce probably next weekend. I'll be sure to share when we decide.. (he's being a pain) lol
my hubby and I will be 13 weeks at Valentine's Day... So doing a 'love' theme which fits in perfectly with valentines and a baby! Photo attached... With the 12 week ultrasound inside the heart
My husband's nickname is 'tunes from our last name. Thinking of using some iTunes add clip art to create a "babyTunes" photo of some kind. Love everyone's ideas though. Probably will wait to send cards and social media until after 20 weeks.
